I know this is a year old, but I had to like and comment because it helped me so much. I have the same exact gun. M2. Same exact issue. Several FTF with the shell lifter jamming a fresh round and the spent round not ejecting. A mess, when you’re in the duck blind and birds are flying. I literally just got done meticulously cleaning my gun but after watching this, I think you’ve diagnosed my real problem. Great info. Thank you!
@@evanmaddock8158 Yes, sir. I bought the Wolff spring and so far so good on duck loads. I haven’t tried the low brass field loads yet, but I feel like this is gonna fix my main problem. No more ‘Benelli click’ so far. Hope you get it figured out. Regards.
Really appreciate this how to. Mine failed while on a pheasant hunt in KS. I knew immediately it was the inertia spring (recoil spring). I ordered a replacement, which has been sitting in my gun safe for 9 months because I was certain how to replace it. Will have it back in service for dove season opener next weekend
I have the same issue with mine. Purchased a Wolff xp recoil spring and hammer spring kit which I installed. I’m also polishing the firing chamber, degreasing the gun and applying dry lube and wiping down. We’ll see if this works!
I've been having a ton of issues with cycling on my m2 tactical, only cycles with crazy heavy loaded shells. I may have to order a recoil spring to fix the gun, and if it doesn't fix it, oh well, probably needed on anyway. Thanks a ton!
Hi I had the same problem in North Dakota,. It finally would not cycle. I switched guns and when I got home I did some researched and found out the same thing you did. Now I have have me for at least 12 years. When I took it apart I could not believe how much crud, dust and dirt was in the tube. Replace it and all is well.
Awesome man, thanks. I’ve been having hang ups on the 2nd or 3rd round and cycling issues for the last couple season. I would even fully clean sometimes twice a dove season. I was about ready to send to benelli. Looks like I’ll be trying this first.
Also a buddy of mine just asked me last night if a store with the breech open or closed. I’ve always kept it open in the safe. He said that could prematurely wear out the spring since it’s always under tension.
I have this same exact gun and had this issue at my trap practice last week. Put a new recoil spring in it and now it works good as new. Thanks for the tutorial.
Great video, quick explanation. 3gunner with "a lot" of shells through my m2 and it finally has started barely feeding sometimes. Bolt stays to the rear, tilting or even barely nudging the gun makes it chamber. That screams "new recoil spring" to me.
My benelli M4 has the same issue. It's a little stiff to open the chamber even when the hammer is set. It also squeaks as if it's rubbing on the recoil tube a lot.
Awesome video man! Straight to the point. I have the same M2 and have the same issue yesterday for the first time. Just wondering where you ordered the spring from? cause that was my first thought. I am in Canada so hopefully they will ship it to me lol. Cheers from Canada eh 🍻🇨🇦🤘
Benelli autoloaders don’t run well with worn out Main Springs. The Montefeltro’s, and the Suoer Black Eagle series shotguns need oil especially in dry dusty weather conditions.
My friends SBE3 did the same thing. Went to gunsmith 3 times. Finally repaced the spring and pow, perfect. Let me tell you how mad he was after shelling out $1600 for the shotty and it fail While on a paid goose hunt. After him having that issue I bought an extra for mine.
Not gonna lie I just bought a new SBE3 and to me I feel like the spring is to weak on it and it hasn’t even been shot yet. Thought about putting a heavier spring in it.

Did you try the fix I just purchased a SBE 2 and having the same issue

Man you are the MAN. Thank you so much. This is exactly what’s going on with my gun. Man you save me many headaches. You made my weekend.

Love your K.I.S.S. Approach. Excellent video

This seems to be half my issue with a SBE2, also double feeds after my first shot.

I have the same question as the last two? After some research I've heard Wolff gun springs would be worth a shot..

Thank u👍
We’re you having misfires from the bad spring?
Yes but minimal. Slow action was the bigger issue
dirt gets in the recoil spring tube as well its a good idea to clean it with a bore cleaner once in a while

Was that a factory replacement or an aftermarket spring? And if it was an aftermarket replacement, where did you get it from? Thanks
This is the one I used-

Check out Wolff xp springs. The Shotshell company I usually by from recommended them.
Was that an original benelli spring or aftermarket?

With the stronger recoil spring, is it still good with target loads?
WoW, been having this same issue for years!!
Thank you for sharing this!
Legend. Thanks for sharing.
I think I have the same issue with my 20 gauge.
I just bought mine and I only have like 500 rounds of bird shot and maybe a 100 slugs through it and mine is giving me this problem!😅
