Everyone has days where they do not feel like they are performing as well as they usually do, but I notice that pro players are able to perform consistently no matter what.
I messed with sim the other night, just for a little, and I feel the average sim doesn't do like 80% of what I found. Sim has some shockingly high damage on punishes. I'm just glad there aren't more good ones out there lol.
His high damage combos arent really that worth it except for stun, DI punishes and some of his PCs. His higher damage combos need meter and he relies on his meter a lot.
@@s0da.-. I'm no sim main, but I feel taking 3-4k when you can get it, assuming you aren't burning yourself out is too good to pass up. They usually wind up in mid-screen or further anyways. That's one or two less jumps you gotta cover. Or pokes/counterpokes to worry about, instead of just doing 1hp into flame, or w/e. Giving your opponent more chances to "play" just rarely feels worth it.
@@s0da.-. Ye I'm clearly an outlier with that thinking. I just think of how many times they didn't combo into level 1 at an earlier point in a match, where this just gives me another chance. They often just save their meter for the game winning combo, when they could've easily built another bar or two in the time they just held it. Or for wake up I guess lol. @20:51 note how late that jhk hits. It's because you're basically in his skull. Earlier in the video you asked why a float combo you tried didn't link to 1hp. It's because it only links if you deep in there. If you aint basically in their skull when you throw out jhk, go for 4mk instead cause it's your most lenient button (and 4mp is your middle-lenient so typically don't bother with it in that situation).
Played Sim for months trying to get him into master rank, ended up at giving up half way up diamond 5. And then switched to Blanka and made it in a few days easily. I love playing sim, he was my main back in sf4. But he really struggles in this game. It's hard to poke with him mid range because the fear of random DI. His anti-airs feel really inconsistent. The drive rush system give many of the cast an easy in on him. And on and on.
I’ve been watching these Road to Master videos for a while now but I have a question: when you grab you seem to press a bunch of buttons. Does that do something different or is it just something you do?
Many players will do little movements to keep their fingers limber during points where there is a break in the action. Its kind of a fidget and kind of a way to keep the neurons firing.
Sim v JP is such a funny matchup, not sure how much it favors Sim in reality but as a Jp player myself the urge to make unforced errors is overwhelming
