I’m the guy you ran into out there on the canoe- your hook sets are great. It’s good to keep the rod tip high when the fish is on out there but once it gets within about 15 feet you gotta hold your pole out to the side and even into the water, so that you keep the tension when they jump. Never have your pole straight up when they’re within 15 ft, and make sure you reel like hell to keep that tension. Great video!
Wow you got that one real nice fish!! NICE. Love the strap you got to hold the ore lol. I need that....almost lost mine today haha. Great video! Found yah through Angling Spiders!
Awesome! That one fish was nice the other ones would have been nice if I could have landed them. Yeah I went out there today and had a much better day. Everybody's tips tricks and advice was well used. Truly appreciate you watching. Stay tuned for more adventures. So glad to have you on board.
D... just came across your channel! Love the beautiful country you are fishing! Good job working through the adversity and finally getting that nice bass! Thanks for sharing! Sub!
Thanks for stopping by! Thanks for subbing! I'm going to share everything with you... my accomplishments and my failures. Hopefully it helps someone. And please feel free to chime in let me know what you think is good advice to help me get better!
I'm headed out there right now. And you know what I'm going to definitely keep that Rod tip down! Stay tuned! I should be having some catches coming up real soon. LOL
@@FishingwithD I've been fishing since I can remember and one thing certain two things sure is that fishing out of a kayak is a totally different experience. It's a true one on one battle, you against the your next possible PB. There are so many tricks to make sure you are the successor, but sometimes they do win as we can't beat them all. I'll be staying tuned to the channel. Thank you.
I think your hook set looked good, you reeled out the slack and quickly pulled upward. I feel your pain, I caught 4 Saturday and also lost 4 same type of issues. They jump and go home! Good video!

love the intro
Just like others have said, rod tip in the water when they try and jump. Your hookset is fine.

Also dig your rod tip down into the water when you feel that fish about to come up out of the water.
I think that's going to be key. The major mistake that I've been doing

Would have like to seen the missed hookset but you got you a big one right behind it.
I have two missed hook sets in slow motion in the video. Very heartbreaking
Set that hook as if you were trying to yank that fish up to the skies.
Lol!!! I felt like I did.
Thats a fire kayak, what model
Thanks!!! It's a Bonafide SS127
