Oiles have Zach Hyman (54 reg goals, 14 playoff goals so far), Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, Evander Kane (go ahead, ask Matt how he faired against Kane two years ago when he was with Calgary - here's a hint, we beat the Flames 4 to 1 and Tkachuk was invisible), Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Evan Boooooooooooooooooouchard, Mattias Ekholm, hell we have a 20-goal scorer who is healthy scratched. Not saying we'll win - but point is Subban concentrates on 'McDavid' - any idiot can do that. That's what makes him a bad analyst. Tkachuk was steamrolled by Edmonton in Calgary in 2022 (4 - 1 games). Bennet also played in Calgary the year before and was traded away by Calgary in 2021 for underachieving. Bobroski is 35 years old and has already played 75 games this year. Sounds like all the predictions about Edmonton and Dallas. Bring it on.

Van was “deeper”…Dallas was “deeper”….. 😂 You talk about Fla. buying into the system. The Oilers also have a system they’ve bought into. Which has helped them climb from the gutter with a Rookie Coach to the finals. It won’t be “depth” that wins….it will be determination. Enjoy the ride!
TheHockeyGuy just did an analysis of the lineups, and called the depth a wash. He gave the edge to Edmonton's 1st and 4th line, but an edge to Florida's 2nd and 3rd. He also said Edmonton's top defensive pair was better than Florida's.
So ya, the only lack of depth in this series is with these "analysts" knowledge of the Oilers.

Physical isn’t a problem for the Oil. If Florida plays the games after the whistle Oils PP will dominate them. Best top 4 point players in the playoffs. Best PP and PK. Floridas is good but still Oils is better. Oilers best team in the NHL since November by almost all metrics. That’s why they are saying he’s wrong.
With all that being said. The teams are very close and I think either team can take this. Those that are saying Edmonton is a weaker team obviously only watch eastern hockey because western teams play too late for them.
I really hope florida tries the physical game. The oilers pp will eat them alive if they do.

PK is not smart. Edmonton is having historic special teams and he is saying Florida has the special teams advantage? 94% PK, 37% PP is insane.
Sure, but Panthers played against better competition overall when it comes to Special Teams.
Tampa - #1 PP, #5 PK
Boston - #14 PP, #7 PK
Rangers - #3 PP, #3 PK
LA Kings - #11 PP, #2 PK
Vancouver - #12 PP, #17 PK
Dallas - #6 PP, #8 PK
I think anyone would reasonably say the Oilers have the better Power Play. But Oilers PK played against 11, 12, 6, while Panthers played against 1, 14, 3. It's not crazy to say Panthers PK is better, they were better all year long and it's been really really strong still against much more lethal PP teams.
Not to mention, Panthers have had to go through BY FAR the better goalies.

From a purely analytical perspective, Florida is the favorite. From a purely analytical perspective, Dallas was the favorite. Pure analysis has it's limitations, though, and a lot will come down to factors that cannot be analyzed. I'm hoping for an Edmonton win, but nothing is a sure thing, and who would expect it to be?

@@johnlang8143 The Rangers/Bruins/Lightning have nothing like McDavid/Draisaitl both on form. No one has. Heiskanen (one of the top D-men in the league) will be having nightmares about McDavid for the next few months. In a couple of weeks, so will most of the Panthers D. Hyman has 14 goals in the playoffs including the series winner in the WCF and he is not even in the discussion for the best Oilers in playoffs so far. If you think that the Oilers will be as easy as the Rangers you have a big surprise coming.

Tbf the best PP was tampa they kinda got shut down as did the rags mad respect for the oilers really turned a corner but the finals are a different beast and cats being there really gives them an edge also having home advantage and this being a big thing with this series have to give the nod to cats but again I know the oilers are a hell of team cats are just on a mission
Oilers have the best powerplay in the history of the sport. They held back a lot during the regular season to not show too many tricks. Panthers won't be able to defend it.
Oilers didn’t even use half their playbook in the regular season, as good as Kucherov is he’s no Connor McDavid, Stamkos ain’t Leon, and Hedman ain’t Bouchard. Oilers dominated the #1 PK LA and #8 PK in Dallas 4/5 in games 5 and 6. Plus Cats are 26-13-2 at Home vs 26-11-4 on the road so it’s not really a home ice advantage.

We scored in the last 2 mins. & if they didn't gave up that second goal to florida late in the 3rd, perhaps we go to OT and maybe a different outcome since we been winning all the OT games except for that 1 OT game. . But we could've won. We have the tools to beat them. Another year were the main stars didn't perform to their full potential. First 2 series were great, but Florida match us so well. This team was special, i really thought they were gonna go all the way. But yeah florida did play amazing. I hate them lol

there's literally no way they can defeat the Oilers special teams. Skinner just needs to be consistently better than the game that got him pulled. he doesn't have to outduel Bobrovsky. The top three lines will take care of that. If our special teams advantage holds up... as it did in every previous series, this year... we have a parade coming.

The east is a weaker Conference, Dallas, Edmonton, Vegas and Colorado I think are all superior to Florida. Having said that the Rangers had the weaker division though a good team relied on that to win the Presidents trophy. Just from the eye test the western games were faster than the eastern ones but it is the finals so all bets off. I am cheering for Florida as I am a Flames fan and cannot cheer for Edmonton. Yet it would not surprise me if they won.
