Oh the anxiety when you were using the T Cut near the new carpet! 😅 Ironic that every vintage vacuum works beautifully on your plush pile whereas most of the modern ones have failed!

Lovely Senior commercial Roger.
With the possible exception of a Kirby no modern upright vacuum cleaner can match the old Hoovers for carpet agitation. As with any dirty fan vacuum suction power with tools attached isn’t good but as you say these machines were built mainly for carpet cleaning.

What a great vacuum cleaner
Delighted to discover that T-Cut is available in a full range here in the U.S. Personally I use Nu Finish on my Miele and other plastics. Wonderful stuff. Even used it to polish the top of a magnificent Baker table I bought, its walnut top looked "fogged" but was just a film of years old grime. Glows now. 😊

T-Cut do an amazing metal polish in a tube available from Motorworld and Amazon which is so good gets rid of pitting and small rust around £4 lasts ages but like the T-Cut liquid it smells.

My wee boy's 3 he puts his hand over the nozzles of his toy vacuums and pretends to be testing the suction just like Roger he does the sound affects and everything 😂😂😂
Made a nice job that T-cut did - all it does is essentially strip off the layer of dirt and oxidation on the painted plastic, much as it does on a car bodywork. That deep, rumble it made on the carpet tells just how much it is beating, as it is sweeping, as it is cleaning. Looking at the serial number, we get a date code 602, which I would place it in the 80s, as far as decade is concerned, so February 1986 seems the most plausible date of manufacture, as I dont think these were made in that style in 1976 or 1996 - but I could be wrong, as I am unsure when Hoover actually did discontinue this long running commercial vacuum.

i find a good thing for cleaning up plastic bodied vacuum cleaners is brasso wadding [Duraglit as i remember it .works really well also good foe Bakelite
Very nice looks machine. From the looks of the hood by the handle bail it looks as if it might benefit from some retro brightning.
Hoover vacuum cleaners are still good
It does do the cleaning tools as the same way like the concept models with the front pan converter

Hi, I came across your video while searching for info on a similar hoover that was left to me. Do you know what year they’re made, or where I can search this, as I’m not really coming up with a great deal of information. The lady that left it to me was a family friend, and all I’ve been told was that she had it for years and refused to update to a newer model, it works lovely though so I couldn’t blame her! 😊 Thank you for any help in advance.
If it’s the same style as the one in the video, then it will be from the 1980s. I would need to know the serial number or see a picture of yours to know for sure. Bags, brushes and belts are still easy to get hold of, even if the cleaner is from the 1960s.

These were great work horses in their day...... great at picking up, alas very poor on the tools..... pity hoover don’t make em like they used too.

You should put a metal fan I put a metal washer and sawdust and rub against the plastic on the vacuum and you can have a metal fan got a lot of suction

Just search for what you’re looking for. Sometimes just putting in wet and dry hoover may find something, or just search vacuum cleaner if you have the time to scroll through all the listings.

Hey Roger would you recomend Tcut polish over vuplex?
T cut and Vuplex are different things. You can use both, the Vuplex would be used after T cut for a final polish.
