The actress who voiced Perdita - Cate Bauer - has not done any other movies. One Hundred And One Dalmatians was the only movie she has done. Last time I heard, she is still alive and turned 100 last year.
The 101 Dalmatians franchise is very unappreciated. It should be more recognition in the modern age, animation-wise of course. It’s not just Cruella who makes the movie awesome, it’s also Pongo and Perdita’s relationship as well. These characters are some of the strongest couples and I do wanna see them be main characters again. While the animation on Perdita is great as is, the animation on Pongo in the film has got be some of the most expensive character animation done in the 1960s! I should also note that the film’s writing and art direction is inspired by UPA, a studio in which it makes experimentation within the animation medium, with the writing at the studio being smart and clever.
love your perspective. especially comparing this movie against modern adaptations of a "strong woman". love how this movie shoes a strong family too. my parents weren't great, but movies like this helped give me an idea of what a good parent I can be.
I think she looks so cool when painted black. Painted white spots could have given her an interesting design there at the end (Although it would have given away her identity)
As an aspiring filmmaker, screenwriter, and animator, Don Bluth inspires me. Regardless of his misgivings with Disney and whether they were founded or unfounded, he became an animation legend in his own right. I aspire to mirror the tone and atmosphere of Don Bluth's The Secret of Nimh, An American Tail and The Land Before Time in my own visual storytelling; I admire those classics of animation for their emotional honesty and maturity.
How typical. I was streaming work on a Perdita animation on my channel 11 hours ago and you're posting an animation breakdown of Perdita. Coincidence? Yes, you were probably editing this last week at the latest.
Okay, to start things off first I love perdita and pongo. Without them the dalmatian franchise wouldn't have never happened and that's great. But... The drawback for her and pongo is that there is barely any characterization for the both of them other than being caring generic parents. (Basically personalities) The same as said in the TV series. The blame will have to go to Disney for this, while I have nothing against perdita and pongo, I would rather see more of Dalmatian Street. There's so much life and uniqueness in the characters compare to Pongo and Perdita for example the parents Doug and Delilah and the siblings (no offense). I doubt DISNEY will make any animated shows or movies of 101 Dalmatian for a good while beside Live-action. And when it comes to Live-action movies based on the classic movies we grew up in... I am not a fan that.

Cate Bauer also has the same birthday as me. August 27th.
That's so cool!
@@meganmuhlestein3689 Yeah. I’ll be 24 years old this August. I was born in 1999.
She also portrayed a character in an episode of The Third Man.

Such a wonderful Disney classic and one of Disneys best.
Love your views on Perdita's strong character! 💯 I prefer this over the overly try hard women characters.
