Thank you for this. I was looking for how to put artificial flowers in resin and wasn't sure if they needed to be sealed. From my vantage point the spray sealer was best, then mod podge however the one with nothing looked like the red color bled a little. This was VERY helpful for me. Thanks again!
Even when you do a project I’m not planning, I have to watch because your tips and tricks are so useful and valuable. So it’s good to watch them all, big TY👍
NEW. I joined your channel just few months ago and think all your video's are wonderfully helpful.I have had two attempts so far and am getting the hang of it. I will be 92 in three weeks time and am hoping to celebrate with trying faux flowers in resin. I already do pottery sculpture, painting and craft and it is so nice to have such a good teacher to learn something new, thank you very, very much.Doris.
Thank you Steve!! I barely ever came on UA-cam until I found your videos!! You have helped me learn a lot! Thank you! And I love ❤️❤️ your little dramatic flare you add to your videos, it makes me want to watch more!!
Hi Steve, i was pleasantly surprised at the outcome of these. I have these flowers too but have been reluctant to use them in resin. Thank you very much for sharing this video. I will now feel happier to use my flowers.
There are some artificial flowers and plants that tend to bleed their colors into the liquid resin, so there's another reason to seal the objects beforehand. In the "nothing" coaster, you can see some color bleeding from the burgundy flower onto the white flower. I appreciate these experiments because these are things that you never find out until you actually do them.
Glad to see about using artificial flowers have dried real flowers but bouquet can cause so much. Trying to learn how to use led strip lights to use in resin night lights. #new kind of.
Great video, I like that you chose a non aerosol sealing option. I live in an apartment so it’s not always convenient to “Art” in the public area. Thanks again😊
Looks like the coaster with nothing on the flowers, that the red flower's colour has leached out of it into the resin, which is a shame. I have to say that the gold mica you used was gorgeous, and your hair is kinda cute long like that. Btw I love your smiley face when you do your intro, it always makes me smile with you. God bless you and your family Steve.

NEW Hi there , im so pleased I came across your channel. I am binge watching haha - never used resin before, and was thinking of doing it as a hobby - thank you
Thank you so much for this video Steve, I was looking at my artificial flowers today and wondered if they would work, I’m waiting for a can of sealer to arrive, as soon as it does I will test mine, fingers crossed they are ok 🤞🏻 PS new to all this resin craft so finding my feet, well trying to 🤣 Your videos are so helpful so thanks again #new ❤️❤️
Very cool video using nothing in the flowers definitely made the red bleed which I saw it bleeding before you did the gold but it also gives it kind of a tie dye shirt look you have a happy healthy safe day and keep up your videos are awesome I like your intro
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts thank you very much that means a lot to me my videos usually are fairly quick silver like the fun fact Fridays or the art ones that's why I always try to do my playlist in description or in my comments just in case people want to watch them in a row lol😁
Hi Steve, I am reasonably new to making things out of resin and have watched several of your videos now. Love them. One thing I have problems with is trying to work out how much resin to make up for my project. I have just completed a trinket box with a lid. First I measured it with water and then made up the 200mls, landed up with left over resin. What did I do wrong ??? Thanks Sandy
Great experiment Steve. On my phone, the one with the spray sealer seemed to be the best one. The mod podge looked a little washed out on my screen. Could be just my phone though. 🤷🏼♀️ I’ve thought of trying artificial flowers too. You know, I have so many projects in mind. I just never seem to find the extra time to get to them. 🙄 I still have a final coat that needs to be applied to my table top. One of these days, I’ll get around to finishing it. Speaking of Facebook, I sent you a message. That will explain why I’ve had no time to play around with experiments. 😬 Can’t wait for your next video! 🥰
This was very helpful, as I don't feel comfortable putting anything that once was alive in resin. How do you process your resin afterward? I guess you sand it? Many thanks!
Thank you for the comparisons you share with us. I’m new to your channel and I have enjoyed watching your videos. I always wondered if you could put fake flowers in resin.
Thanks. Enjoyed your video. I'm wondering what your experience is with that brand of resin (pro marine).... Over time do you get yellowing? And your opinion which resin is the best for non-yellowing over time? #new
Hi Steve 👋 That Heart Mold I had Bought It wanting to do Heart Picture Pendants & It's Not Giving Me a Whole complete Heart on the Resin.. Help lol I Want to Do Them so bad.. Thank You so Much.. Truly Appreciate You, and love to Watch Your Videos..
Great video--wish I had seen this technique before being surprised with big bubbles underneath my dried pansies in my coasters that are otherwise completely clear!!! These are the only flowers that have given me this problem so far...I am working on a large number of coasters for my daughter's wedding and wondering whether I should exclude the ones with the bubbles that appeared this way? They are so beautiful other than these bubbles! I'd love to know what the sealer product is that you use? I don't see it named here. Thank you! #newbie
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts funnily enough, I wanted to resn some ice cube tray (or holders???) To make a photo collage of resin cubes with small (maybe passport size) photos on one side.
