Stevie Wonder and Boy George were supposed to duet with Signed, Sealed, Delivered....but Stevie changed it to Part Time Lover at the last minute, so George was not prepared. Then he deliberately sang over George. You can see the Motown group singing back-up enjoying George's discomfort. George also remembers this performance as an embarrassment.

@John James That evil witch, Suzanne DePasse did that. She was the producer and tried to exclude most of the original Motown artist from the program. The program was called "Motown Returns to the Apollo" and they had more non-Motown people there than Motown artists.
DetroitLives313 George Michael and Smokey Robinson was another disastrous pairing.
@John James The bottom line is she invited those guys on the show to cater to the white American audience. None of them ever performed at the Apollo. I am from Detroit and live in New York so I know they never did. That is why it all seemed awkward.
