It‘s not about our viewing experience, it’s about maximising your result and with the tires‘ operating window being so narrow it‘s a delicate task to keep them working properly, driving in dirty air for a few laps after being overtaken is bad enough as is but with a faster car by some margin it will happen anyway…so taking a defensive line, going onto the marbles and asking more from your tires than you’d normally want under braking, turning and accelerating will lose you time and tire life (which in the end means also lost time and strategic options) and I think the results Norris gets with this approach speak for themselves
Ocon seeing this and mad
No wonder russel let max passes him in suzuka
What do you mean they are not his rivals? What are they then? They are racing against each other and Norris is loosing points, possibly falling behind his actual "rivals" in points
But isn't it slower to take this corner so far from the ideal line? Why not take the corner the predictable/fast way and let checo find his way past in whichever way?
If you let them by on purpose you can choose to do it in a way that doesn't lose much time, instead of having your corner exit compromised by them doing something like going around the outside
@@samkostka126 Ah it's about the exit speed, I see thanks.
Norris is so disappointing when you hope that he can block for a bit some opponent...
Yes, you should have defended against the clearly faster car that will inevitably pass you anyway and fuck your tyres in the process.
Sigh
Truly a beta male driving master
The only one he always fights is Lewis.
I disagree with the consensus of this video and make the argument that this is landos biggest weaknesss. He bends the knee to anything and everything quicker than him. There comes a time he’ll have to show some ferocity, like max, Lewis and fernando (all WC’s)
Tell me you dont actually watch F1 without twlling me you dont actually watch F1 lol
@@user-qf7dl2ki4t and he does let everything by if he’s got a pace disadvantage. What do you mean? Maybe you don’t watch too often
@@willojames9910 Ferocity? Yea, of the top of my head, look at Austria '20 and Monza '21. No ferocity there was there!
Let me guess, if this were you you've fought that position?
And killed your tyres so you get passed by everyone else.
Proving once again you have no idea about racing.
@@user-qf7dl2ki4t well done you found 2 examples in 4 years. Point proven.

Slow clap.
How do you even notice this
Hiw do you not?
Norris Rivals: Hamilton
Norris cant fight. We saw it in Spain and in Austria. Winning car, but he’s no winning material
Norris when he sees Hamilton behind: *time to defend* 😡
Do you even remember how easily he let him through in Silverstone 2021? Of course you don't
Norris never defends against lewis, drives me insane! Only time was at Austria.
As far as I can remember, he only defended Hamilton in GB last year. And it was a race where McLaren was way faster than Mercedes, and he had hard tyres with like 18 laps to go, against Hamilton's soft tyres. He had every reason to defend
Thats because he actually has a chance of beating lewis.
@@de1623then you need to actually watch F1 lol
Only defends against Hamilton 😂
I mean... who are you to judge a formula one driver man?
Theres no judging here. Juat analysis
Didn't he put Perez in the gravel in Austria 21?
And then perez put leclerc in the gravel too yea
I mean Perez was on softs, probably 80% of the grid would’ve done the same
Actually, Norris would has defend leclerc if he pushed overtake lol
in the 2022 mclaren? literally zero chance he'd be fast enough to keep leclerc behind, they were still down there with williams/aston martin/alpha tauri that early in the season
@@samkostka126 Relax smart ass, we are only talking about that straight, whether Norris would have defended Leclerc if he had pressed the overtake button. It is obvious from the video that Leclerc made an overtake at the very end of the straight, so if Norris had used an overtake button he would surely have defended Leclerc.
@@samkostka126 literally 100% if Norris pushed overtake button he would defend from leclerc on that straight that lap.. iam not talking about whole race of course
@@oliverSK that straight sure but why drain your battery to defend against a car that's going to fly past you 15 seconds later anyway? Better to save that burst of power for the Williams you actually have a shot at defending against
@@samkostka126 of course man just talking hypotheticaly becouse in video is shown just that straight and if he would defend or not and ist obvious that he would
aka norris only wins with a superior car
This makes me dislike Ocon even more lol

Trust me if it was Hamilton he would defend for life.
You would never ever see a driver like Senna laying down like this. Norris is ok, but Oscar Piastri is the future of racing. He's so much better and mature as well. Lando still has a LOT of growing up to do. Oscar's already there, making smart decisions and is much better on off track presentations, where Lando has really proven herself to be petty, immature and entitled. Not goo for the sport overall, having a baby in a car acting like that.
