Mr. Ed don't feel like you have to comment on all of mine that I leave. I'm mesmerized on watching you all in your bee adventures. Oh my! #1 was mind blowing! Did you all even have enough coolers to put all that comb in? That is the strangest chain saw I ever saw! lol! Did you see Pooh Bear by the tree? Need you a headlamp! that can't be comfortable to hold that flashlight in your mouth for so long. All super amazing! Thank you Jesus!
Great video compilation Mr. Ed. I continue to have fun watching the videos. I am about to start my apiary in Kingston, Jamaica. It's on average 30 degrees C in the days but not much flowers blooming, so as soon as the flowers begin, I'll purchase 2 boxes of bees and begin my adventure. I remember visiting my neighbour's house as a child and seeing bees flying in and out of a crevace in the house- now I know what it was all about. Keep making videos!! God Bless!!
I would like to express my appreciation for the volume on the music. That was absolutely perfect, to offer some auditory sensation with a video compilation- whose audio would sound like a broken record. Too many UA-camrs put their favorite music on at full volume, and the music clashes with the visual content, or worse, the music is nothing I'd ever want to listen to. The subdued and quiet strains were perfect. I know it is a lot of time and effort to edit these compilation videos, and I really enjoyed this one. Thank you, for the back story on your Tuxedo Kitty, he is a handsome little guy. I'm new to your channel, but I look forward to what ever you want to share with us.
I remember these removals, but revisiting was great. I've been viewing for about a year now and have gone back and watched most of your earlier videos. You keep making them, and I will keep watching. Take care.
Nice to meet Figareaux! Glad he doesn’t mind the bees and keeps you company when you’re out there. Yes, I have noticed you getting just a little excited at finding the queen 😂🤣 Those hives were massive and I watched all of those videos. Thanks for putting this together for us😊
I share your wonder at the beauty of the comb and the hives, it's what draws me back here time and again. I have an irrational fear of bees, well flying insects of any kind really, but I'm so taken with the comb i often wish i could be a beekeeper myself just to witness all that wonder up close and play a part in it all. May the Earth continue to bestow its blessings upon you, Jeff, you're a truly joyous presence in this oft dark world.
Wow, those hives were something to see, and I love the way you rejoice over finding those queens! I always feel uplifted when I've been here. Thanks, Mr. Ed! Wishing you good health and God's peace in the new year!
I do like to watch both you and Randy. The best BEE shows on the net. I like to see the fun you two guys have together and the good hearted ribbing you guys do.
The bees really are amazing creatures. The hives are absolutely incredible. Thank you for all the work you do saving and relocating bees and thank you for posting the videos so others can learn. 🐝
Thank you very much for your kind words and supporting my efforts to rescue bees.Sharing my experiences brings me much joy, and I'm grateful to all who take the time to follow along. Thanks for watching. God's peace Heather. Mr. Ed
I´m so thrilled for you to have Figareaux with you now. Isn´t having a cat by one´s side just the best? Beeside finding a queen, that is for you, of course...
And THAT's the way is was! Those WERE worth looking at again. The one under the trailer was HUGE and I knew I didn't need anything to do with bees when I spent 2 days in the hospital from an allergic reaction to a hornet sting BUT I sure enjoy you and Rooster and Yappus going at it. Happy Jesus weekend and Gods Peace to you and the Skydiver!
Nicely put together compilation, Mr. Ed. I think I've already seen them all but they were the Best of the Best and well worth watching the short versions. I've got to ask (maybe it's already been asked). Where did the nickname, Mr. Ed come from and what does it mean? Was a greatTV series....... Hello Wilburrrr ! ! ! I always get tickled at your excitement in finding the Queen Bee ! You have a keen eye. Can you believe you have 9.7 Million Views on one of your videos? Truly amazing.
The name " Mr. Ed "was the name given to me when I first started working at the Post Office 38 years ago. When I retired after 27 years, I liked it so much, I continued to call myself that. Then, when I started my UA-cam channel, that's what I decided to call myself. Thanks for watching. God's peace Brock. Mr. Ed Mr. Ed
HI MR ED, 😀 it sure was a great 2019,👍 those were some Monster hives🙏 you keep on making this 🎥videos and I will keep on watching😃 them. GOD🙏🙏BLESS YOU. EDUARDO MIAMI FL 🇺🇸
Honey comb and bees never cease to amaze me. Those hives are stunning!! How can a single queen maintain the population of a hive so massive. Amazing! I have a question. . . I see bee keepers put in old empty comb in a box. I know you need to keep the orientation correct or the honey runs out, but if you were to put empty comb in upside down would the bees correct it before using the comb? Just a random thought I had today. Thank you for sharing. Sure did enjoy looking back at these videos.
Hi Jeff. Some of God's small insects have the ability to build such beauty. And humans, for what its worth, have the largest brains, but most fail to use them. We could learn a lot from those bees, if we only stopped and notice like you do. now Go Find That Queen !!!! Happy Saturday. We got 15 to 20 cm of snow on the way today, (Sat into Sun).
I really think you need to ask for a head lamp for your birthday, Mr. Ed, because using a flashlight like that until Christmas is just too long to wait!
Will do, and hopefully I'll do a video on the largest removals from last year later on. Thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my bee wrangling/ bee rescues adventures and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace Laura. Mr. Ed
You kidding me, all your videos are great and I love learning about the bees 😊. I did see the video of the largest removals you've done, wow, impressive. Rate now I'm trying to learn the different areas of honeycomb thru video. Capped and uncapped, brood honeycomb, how they Insulate for winter. It's so exciting to watch you, yappy pappy, JP and others. Thank you Mr Ed for your responses. I greatly appreciate them. Keep lookin for the Queens and God bless you all 😊
Just to set the facts straight, Good Time Charlie was not around filming in those days, that was all on me. If you'd like, I'd bee more than happy to give you a few pointers on how to shoot better video. Who knows, it may help your channel grow bigger from the help. God's peace brother. Mr. Ed
Great video Jeff, I've come to expect nothing less :)! I'm amazed at all the feral bees there are in your area to cut out. The brood patterns of some of those queens are fantastic...I tell myself, I'd like to have queens from them for my hives! Then too, I think.....here's brother Jeff, he doesn't raise queens, doesn't treat his hives....he just catches bees, puts them in boxes and let's them do their thing....if I'm mistaken, please correct me. Your apiary seems to be totally natural.....let the bees alone to do their thing. It appears to be working just fine! Be blessed and keep wrangling!
Hey there Mr Ed all the way from the UK. In 2 days I must have watched about 30 bee keeping videos, with yourself being my fave. Thanks for the video, they are fantastically interesting and your manner with the bees is very respectful which I also enjoy. Would these be the biggest hives you've ever found or just last year?
Trent, thank you so much for your very kind words, I appreciate them tremendously. These were the largest from last year, but not the largest I've ever done. Thanks for watching. God's peace brother. Mr. Ed
Hey Jeff! Have you done a video reviewing a removal and following up with it over a longer time frame? I would love to see how the comb is repaired after you’ve framed it up. How the bees make the new hive their new home. How they remove the rubber bands. Etc. Maybe a time lapse of some sort? Awesome video! Love your channel!
The largest hive I ever saw was on Brookhollow Esplanade in Harahan, La. It was under a limb of a large oak. It was the size of a refrigerator/freezer. I'm sure Katrina took it out. Wished I had taken a picture of it.
Do you have all these bees at the abbey? How are they fairing in your bee yards? Do you ever use queen cells from these massive hives to replace queens in struggling hives?
All of the hives in this video are at the abbey....still, and yes, I do use the extra cells to make splits on our bees. I think we have a pretty diverse gene pool in our apiary. Thanks for watching. God's peace Kathleen. Mr. Ed
So you put all that money back into the bees😂😂😂. And that saw, crazy. I love that you give Jesus all the glory❤️❤️❤️❤️. Two make for a lighter load. Do you have a list of tools for ranging ? Awesome queen. On your back working you have to tell yourself that this is fun 😂😂😂😂. Again looks like you have a crew working together for you praise god he is faithful.❤️❤️❤️
Your cat Figaro is so precious 💖🐱 Does he like honey? I think the reason why you were so taken and amazed at the shape of honeycombs is because you can actually see the beauty of God's creation. Bees are phenomenal & I stand in awe when I'm around them in my gardens. Such intelligent insects💖💖💖 Love your videos 😍 Please keep them coming and sharing your knowledge with us all.
Your kind words are greatly appreciated Robin, thank you for them and for watching. Like you, I am in complete amazement at the wonder of bees. God's peace. Mr. Ed
Thanks for the year in review. On that first hive, there are ridges of propolis. Were those bee-made beetle traps? You should have put more handles on that floor removal (#4)... what a struggle that must have been to lift. P.S. I bought myself an Everything Bee Vac for Christmas, but up here in NY, it will be months still before I get any swarm or cutout calls.
It is my pleasure sharing my bee wrangling adventures. Also, thanks for watching, and I hope you will check out more of my over 500 bee wrangling/ bee rescue adventure videos and let me know what you think of them. By the way, I post a new video almost every Friday morning, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. God's peace Caroline. Mr. Ed
Yes indeedy, it is “awesome sauce!” I am not a beekeeper. The best I do is buy local honey. But I watch every sort of bee video I can find. I watch hobby bee keepers, small commercial operations, educational videos, and of course my Louisiana cut out Kings, Mr. Ed and the Dirt Rooster (Jeff, between you and me I started watching you first (don’t cry Randy I eventually succumbed to the dark side, oh um, I mean your channel, lol!)). Seriously, I have fallen hard for these amazing creatures. I love how each one has its job, especially those fierce looking guard bees at the hive entrance. They are like bouncers for a dance club! I love seeing the foragers coming back with bright yellow pollen sacs, and of course there is the amazing (and to me) mystical queen. It just gets me every time I watch shaken bees march straight into a new hive where their queen happens to be in wait. You shared the story of seeing your first hive in 1978, and how you knew you were going to be a bee keeper. My story is that I fell in love with bees over their honey. Whenever I see a piece of comb honey broken in such a way that you can see the honey stores in each cell, angling upward so it won’t leak out, every cell the same, every cell covered with a protective white cap, it blows my mind. It reminds me in my darkest times, and unfortunately I have many of them (dark times meaning when my Faith is shaken, or my health gets another blow, or depression settles over me like a suffocating blanket), that those amazing bees with their perfect luscious honey, able to be used in so many purposes, are working hard all over the planet. I am able to realize that although Faith may be defined in belief in what is unseen (I’m majorly paraphrasing there), for me Faith IS seen. It is seen in these amazing (how many times do I keep using this word to describe them, but I can’t pick another for they simply are amazing) creatures who make this miraculous honey. I don’t care if people want to tell me that “nature, adaptation, evolution, etc...” made bees what they are; it was NOT without a more powerful hand. For me that hand belongs to God, and when it comes to catching a Queen, definitely the hand comes from the Son, “Thank you, Jesus!” Watching bees, watching the perfection of God, knowing all the amazing ways bees help keep us alive: through pollinating our flowers (and thus often giving us food), to helping someone heal through the use of their honey as a healing agent, to giving us nourishment in body and soul in the form of a smile when a child bites into toast with honey, and grins at the taste. All of this nudges my Faith back in the right direction. It serves to drive those dark thoughts away, even if just for a little while. It’s long enough to keep me going. Thank you for your videos Jeff, and thank you for this wonderful recap. Thank you for feeding my soul just as you feed your girls. This is really a thank you to all the people who make bee videos, with another special thank you to Jeff, as your channel gives me a place to write these thoughts where I feel they will be understood. That is worth so much to me. I apologize that my comment turned into a mini dissertation. God bless. -Diane from Florida
So glad to hear you enjoy watching my videos, thank you for taking the time to do so. As far as the comb being dark, all comb starts out snow white, and soft, but due to use, age, and the traffic over it, it becomes darker and darker. After about 4 or 5 years, it becomes hard as a rock as well. Looking forward to hearing from you again, God's peace. Mr. Ed
This is amazing to me. God's creatures are so intriguing. How do the bees get all the insulation out from between the joists? I've seen where they've chewed out spray foam, which is toxic enough, but how do they get the fiberglass type of insulation all out? Thanks for sharing your adventures and your efforts to save these amazing creatures.
ΙNCERDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT WORK!!! SWEEET GOLDEN WORKS OF GOD'S CREATION!!!! THANK YOU FOR SHAREING!!!👏👏👏👍👍🕊☦🇬🇷 HAPPY BLESSED NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!
When I first used the word "LOLLYGAGGING" to my kids,,,,They thought that wasn't a real word...so I had to pull the ole "Webster" out to prove my sanity.......LOL
Can you show us before & after how bees rebuild their honeycomb after it's been relocated in sections into frames & placed in a box? If you already have, do you have a link to the video? This stuff is fascinating!
Hello Jeff! I have a rookie question. In one of your previous videos you mentioned that it's important to keep the original orientation of removed combs. The only reason I can come up with is so honey won't drip on brood, in case of some accident. Can you please explain why it's important?
I believe Jeff addressed that in one (or more) of his prior videos; and, you are correct orientation of cut out brood is pretty much essential. As you have surmised, keeping the comb facing up prevents larvae from drowning.
I know I asked this elsewhere, but wondered what bee removal was like before vacuums were used. Also, hope you have students learning from your mastery.
Before I had a bee vac I would cut the comb and frame it up with all the bees running around on it. I greatly prefer to vacuum the bees off the comb. God's peace brother. Mr. Ed
Outside now it has been below -40 now since the 7th of Jan last couple of days it was -42 one morning then -52 the next day lol no standing outside talking lol my bees are in my heated shed and I am painting 10 more hives inside cheers
In our part of the world, if there are bees, here are mites. Fortunately, the mite load down here is not to bad, but it is still and issue. Thanks for watching. God's peace. Mr. Ed
I just got your card today, thank you so much for it, VERY nice. I will have it in the mail in another day or two, lots of stuff going on. God's peace Marilyn. Mr. Ed
They are PVC coated, lined, rubber gloves. They are sting proof and water/honey proof. I highly recommend them, and you can get them at HomeDepot, Lowes, or WalMart in their paint departments for about 5 bucks a pair. Thanks for watching. God's peace Norm. Mr. Ed
You're always so excited whenever you find the queen.
I guess God enjoys watching your reaction because he keeps revealing queens to you.
I guess I am kinda randomly asking but do anyone know a good site to watch new movies online?
@@ryderthatcher2205 -- No one wants to watch new movies.
@Ryder Thatcher Flixportal :D
@Johnny Bowen thanks, signed up and it seems to work :) I really appreciate it !!
@Ryder Thatcher Happy to help :D
That was a great opening story. You did get some monster hives this year.
Still don't know how you do it, but you do it WELL. Thank you, Jesus!
Always a pleasure to see a new beekeeping video from you sir - and this one having highlights from six huge hives is beyond awesome!! Thank you!!!
Loved seeing Figaro. I had a Figaro as a teenager. He was a great cat, and looked just like this one.

Thank you, for sharing 6 of your LARGEST HIVE RESCUES! 🙂🙂🙂.....MUCH SUCCESS to you. 🙂🙂🙂🎊🎊🎊💒💒💒
Wow, those hives were something to see, and I love the way you rejoice over finding those queens! I always feel uplifted when I've been here. Thanks, Mr. Ed! Wishing you good health and God's peace in the new year!
Wow. Those certainly were worth looking back on Mr. Ed. Great memories of 2019. Hope you are blessed with many more memory makers in the coming year!
Jeff I love your videos. What I love most is you respect the bees and give back a lot of which is theirs.
That was a huge treat Mr. Ed. Comb all over the place - stacked, hung, folded - just beautiful. Thank you very much. God bless and see you soon.
Enjoyed revisiting those bee wrangling videos Jeff. Thanks for taking the time to produce the videos. Y'all take care and God bless.
Loved you story about becoming a beekeeper. They are wonderful creatures in the literal sense of the word: they fill us with wonder.
As always, I´m totally amazed of the ability of those bees to build such beautiful hives.
I do like to watch both you and Randy. The best BEE shows on the net. I like to see the fun you two guys have together and the good hearted ribbing you guys do.
Morning Mr. Ed, you're up early! Figaro is a gorgeous kitty. Can't wait to see the rest of the video!

Thank You Friend, very rewarding watching you guys.
That's cool Mr edd the thing I like is you love Jesus and give him praise the videos are just a bonus ☺️
Thanks for the reminders of the majestic hives of 2019! Your enthusiasm is infectious. Here’s to a successful 2020. Keep ‘me comin’ Mr. Ed!🤓
Love hearing those three little words! "Thank you Jesus" :)
Me too! God's peace Pamela.
Mr. Ed
thumbs up and shared by far the best bee keeper on you tube
Thank you Mr Ed for the great year of videos. God Bless
It's great to reminisce about good memories of the past.
I´m so thrilled for you to have Figareaux with you now. Isn´t having a cat by one´s side just the best? Beeside finding a queen, that is for you, of course...
My older sister’s first cat was named Figaro..it think I was 4 at the time we met. Fig was a midnight black cat...very calm and sweet.
Simply amazing. Thanks for sharing. It is always a treat to see how people approach beekeeping in other parts of the country and around the world.
#3 was my favorite, each time you showed us a big strip of comb you removed made me think of somebody posing with a big fish they caught 😀
Congrats nice reviewers of 2019 awesome jobs God bless you all for 2020 my good friends Mr. Ed.🙏🏽🙏🏽😇😇
And THAT's the way is was! Those WERE worth looking at again. Honey comb and bees never cease to amaze me. Those hives are stunning!! How can a single queen maintain the population of a hive so massive. Amazing! I have a question. . . It’s Friday!!! Our favorite bee keeper is in the house!!

Always enjoy my weekly bee fix with Mr. Ed. I would love an update on the top-bar "coffin" hive and the tree trunk hives.
Another great video Mr Ed, thanks for the story telling, god bless you and the bees, It got up to 5 here today
If your winter has been like ours in North Central Florida I imagine that the coming swarm season will bee keeping you busy.
I have a feeling it's going to be early and frenzied.....I can hardly wait. God's peace.

I really think you need to ask for a head lamp for your birthday, Mr. Ed, because using a flashlight like that until Christmas is just too long to wait!

I wish the entire world had the bee population like we have here in Southeast Louisiana, we really need them. God's peace Patrick.
Mr. Ed
2019 was a good year for you. Nice compilation video. Good Time Charlie made those tiny hives look big with that fancy video work.
Just to set the facts straight, Good Time Charlie was not around filming in those days, that was all on me. If you'd like, I'd bee more than happy to give you a few pointers on how to shoot better video. Who knows, it may help your channel grow bigger from the help. God's peace brother.
Mr. Ed
The kitty is so cute!! The beard is looking awesome!! Video is great!! Take care Mr. Ed! :)
SUPER entertaining! Great job last year.

Danny, the bees remove the rubber bands by chewing through them and dumping them out of the hive/box.
The largest hive I ever saw was on Brookhollow Esplanade in Harahan, La. It was under a limb of a large oak. It was the size of a refrigerator/freezer. I'm sure Katrina took it out. Wished I had taken a picture of it.

Thanks for the history, bees are absolutely fascinating.
Truly amazing creatures, there's always something new to discover about them. Thanks for watching. God's peace Kat.
Mr. Ed
It would be very interesting to know how much honey you could extract from those large hives.
Every removal is different, but I have processed over 5 gallons of honey from some of these large removals. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed

How many hives to you have in total? And how many hives can you keep together in one place? So love your channel I’ve learned so much from you
We have about 150 hives, but we keep them in 10 different bee yards spread out over 15 miles. Keep watching and learning. God's peace Tammy.
Mr.
Thank you for sharing, very interesting!!!
For me that hand belongs to God, and when it comes to catching a Queen, definitely the hand comes from the Son, “Thank you, Jesus!”
Watching bees, watching the perfection of God, knowing all the amazing ways bees help keep us alive: through pollinating our flowers (and thus often giving us food), to helping someone heal through the use of their honey as a healing agent, to giving us nourishment in body and soul in the form of a smile when a child bites into toast with honey, and grins at the taste.
WOWZERS! Mr. Ed, those are some massive hives!
Hi from Canada. Love watching your videos I’m learning so much about bees and the honey process. Wondering why the cones look so dark sometimes?
They were some pretty spectacular hives.
Great video! Regards from Barcelona.
Your videos are entertaining and fun to watch 😃
ΙNCERDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I first used the word "LOLLYGAGGING" to my kids,,,,They thought that wasn't a real word...so I had to pull the ole "Webster" out to prove my sanity.......LOL
Thank goodness for Webster. Now a days it's Goggle. God's peace Mary.
Mr. Ed
Щедрые находки! Это огромные колонии!
Can you show us before & after how bees rebuild their honeycomb after it's been relocated in sections into frames & placed in a box? If you already have, do you have a link to the video? This stuff is fascinating!
It would be interesting if you brought a bathroom scale to weigh the beevac after you are done.
Enjoyed watching Mr Ed thanks for sharing
Hello Jeff! I have a rookie question.
In one of your previous videos you mentioned that it's important to keep the original orientation of removed combs.
The only reason I can come up with is so honey won't drip on brood, in case of some accident.
Can you please explain why it's important?
I'm no beekeeper, but that sounds like one good reason to me. I suspect that also, any brood might get messed up?
Mr Ed, help! :)
I believe Jeff addressed that in one (or more) of his prior videos; and, you are correct orientation of cut out brood is pretty much essential. As you have surmised, keeping the comb facing up prevents larvae from drowning.
That’s one sweet job to have! 🥰🐝
Wrangling bees, it's not a job, it's an adventure. God's peace Aura.
Mr. Ed
"there's a mason jar full of cash!! turn the camera off!!" 😂😂😂😂😂
I love that line. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
Just dont pull a Wooley Swamp on us and banish...
'Thank you Jesus' for today. 'Thank you Mr. Ed' for the video. Last but not least 'Thank you Chadwick' for watchin said video, on this very day!!
Do these massive colonies that live feral have varroa? Any thoughts on this?
In our part of the world, if there are bees, here are mites. Fortunately, the mite load down here is not to bad, but it is still and issue. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
1:50 Kitty attack!! :)
Hi Mr. Ed.... waiting for my honey!!
I just got your card today, thank you so much for it, VERY nice. I will have it in the mail in another day or two, lots of stuff going on. God's peace Marilyn.
Mr. Ed
Jeff Horchoff Bees Thank you so much for letting me know! The Peace of God be with you also. Marilyn
Great beard 😊 - it must be Friday
Would you mind describing the type of gloves you are wearing in the videos? Love your videos!
They are PVC coated, lined, rubber gloves. They are sting proof and water/honey proof. I highly recommend them, and you can get them at HomeDepot, Lowes, or WalMart in their paint departments for about 5 bucks a pair. Thanks for watching. God's peace Norm.
Mr. Ed
Mr Ed. with that beard your gonna be able to play Santa for the kids next year...
gentle hands make gentle bees

Hi Mr. Ed
I'd love to see more videos about cutting and framing up wild combs.
Stay tuned, and you will see it. Thanks for watching. God's peace.
Mr. Ed
I would love to get my hands on a 6inch by 6inch square of honeycomb laden with honey. God bless you Jeff.
