I bet it would take me an hour to find 10 anime viewers at a con who don't know that Dio yells "Za Warudo" and stops time. Yet by that time I'd have talked to 50 that never watched part 2. So what I'm saying is, good luck with surprising someone regarding Dio's abilities. UA-cam and social media in general is literally *filled* with JoJo memes, anybody who's seen like even a dozen knows about Dio. And maybe even about King Crimson at that point.
I don't really see how, tbh. I only recently got into JJBA, and I knew about DIO and Jotaro's Time Stop shit going in, just through like cultural osmosis. I'd seen the memes n stuff. Even if you've been living under a rock for 10 years and don't know about The World's abilities, I honestly think you can enjoy Part 4 and Part 3 in that order. Like look at it from a newcomer's perspective. "How the fuck does Jotaro stop time? I should watch Stardust Crusaders and find out at some point"

@@AirahsELL One of the requirements for being an anti-hero is being a protagonist, which Zuko, at the start of the show, is not. And he only rescues Aang because, if someone else captures Aang, Zuko can't regain his honor.
To be fair, Avatar doesn't have the very separate segments that JoJo does though. It's all directly connected as opposed to having regular generation changes.
@Weirdo I respect what you're saying, but imo a series is best consumed start to finish. In particular series, moments don't hold the same weight or have as much significant impact when the buildup is not there. Like imagine how much impact is lost if we knew Vader was Luke's father right from the get go without the buildup and the contrast between the two and what they were representing( at that time). Another anime example is if the buildup for Madara Uchiha in naruto was not there, if characters never referenced him or his name was constantly brought up for over 300+ chapters before his first actual appearance. The impact of him showing up in the war arc and dominating wouldn't have been as hype without the constant buildup. With JoJo, IMO without the buildup and development of DIO from part 1 is important for the buildup to the final battle with DIO in part 3. I wouldn't have enjoyed it nearly as much if I had no real background to DIO, he'd just be another big bad for the good guys to beat and not a character I'd care for
I watched from part 1 and I’m like episode 22 in part 4 but I honestly find part 4 boring I kinda wanna skip it don’t get me wrong I love Joseph and jotaro but idk it’s just not the same as part 1-3
If you skip Parts, you are going to miss the context and spoil yourself of what happened in the previous parts. Even though every part has its own setting and characters, there are still elements and characters that carry over from the previous parts. You had it right during that Avatar segment. Jumping around won't provide context and make certain scenes feel less impactful when watching it (Straizo's betrayal in Part 2, Dio coming back in Part 3, having the cast of part 3 show up in Parts 4 and 5, having Koichi show up in Part 5, the rise of Speedwagon from street thief to a multi-million foundation). The "Narrative Bridge" doesn't make sense for JoJo because you are expecting the viewer to get confused and not understand the context of the characters until 20 to 40 episodes later where they reveal what the character was like in their part. That is just dumb. Its like saying, "weren't you confused about that random character, you can find out more in the next part." The only reason why you think it is good because you already seen the series and you already know all the context and characters. If a new fan watches in the Basement order, they will just be more confused. Its like reading a book by skipping to random chapters and piecing the different chapters together at the end of the book.
And some people do that. Both my mother and my wife love to skip to the end of books or shows then jump back to get context. I am the opposite. I almost never get surprised so I really enjoy it when I do so I go into stories at the start with as little spoiled as possible so I don't predict the plot. People are just a lot more different than you realize and some people genuinely find different things appealing.
I didn't skip any parts on purpose; I started with part 4 not knowing anything about the first three, and then I went back and watched the other three to figure out what context I was missing. It answered...zero of my questions. The most pressing question I had was "How did Enyaba get the arrow and how did Jotaro learn about it?" I didn't have any investment in Dio (or DIO) because I didn't know who he was. He was last season's villain, I guess. And my questions about the arrow remained unanswered. Although I liked parts 1 and 2 (especially 2, because Joseph, Erina, and Lisa Lisa were great), part 3 left me entirely disappointed. After watching all three and going back to 4, I can confidently say that having seen the previous three parts did not significantly improve my viewing experience. I think I would have enjoyed part 5 without that context too.
I also believe you should not skip parts. I mean I thoroughly enjoyed all 5 current parts in order without getting bored, but that's me. If people don't want to watch in order, that's fine. I don't get it, but I'm not gonna stop from enjoying jojo their way.
The weirdest sequence break I’ve ever heard of was when a friend of mine introduced FMA to someone who had no context, with the dwarf in the flask episode, which I still don’t know how to process
You haven't reached part 5, I take it? Because part 3 is a hell of a lot more tolerable than 5. And 6, and 7. Basically, stop with Diamond is Unbreakable if you want to save yourself an aneurysm.
You see i was raised in the early 2000s so anime pirate sites. Most people back then started at episode 1 so i thought it was common practice. But dbz was the one of the few exceptions and hunter x hunter for me
While your basement order might get people interested in seeing character's connections in past seasons, it completely destroys countless twists and buildups. I don't recommend this order at all
@@knghtbrd This reasoning doesn't apply to this situation at all. The 2003 and FMAB anime are basically the same story, but told in different ways, so you naturally don't need to watch one to understand the other. On the other hand, each Jojo part is it's own self-contained, but still linked to a larger narrative type of plot, so you DO need to watch it in order.
@@knghtbrd No one cares if you skipped parts, watch the show however you want. The moment you stopped watching something just because of a string of words from the Internet, you already got affected by it. The only reason why people is against this watch order is that it's basically the same as watching a full season show, skipping episode 1 because its boring then starting off at episode 4 because it had one good scene then going back to episode 1 so you can get some boring explanation for episode 4 then skipping again for episode 5 and then going back to episode 2 before continuing to episode 3 then to 6 then on to 7 and 8. Can you see the fault in why people who have watched the show are pressed about it?
You should start watching this video at 9:00 then to 2:35 then to 12:44 then to 3:00 but only for 30 seconds then to 0:01 then back to finish that 3:00 the idk watch the rest normal if you choose

@Euclase W You order is just moving part 3 to the first. Is that purpose not to bore the newcomers? Cuz if they are gonna have the 20-something ep from part 1 and 2, why not just hang in there and watch it in order

Chronogical order is still better, because we get to see Araki's growth as an artist and see the stories getting better and better (that timeline will just make the story more confusing)
Chronological order is important because you want others to suffer as you did. If you admit that part 1 is not as good or interesting as the others, but you expect people to get into a show by showing them *that specific part* because of some self righteous bullshit, you're just dumb.
@@boiimcfacto2364 I think people can watch/read 9 episodes/5 volumes of an average story without them dying. And knowing it is the least good will make them more excited for the next parts.
@@sirius6738 knowing it is the least good doesn't necessarily imply that they'll like the coming parts as much. Plus, knowing that the start is boring might not incentivize them to carry on. My opinion is to start with 1 and continue from there But if you dont have the motivation to watch beyond that all at then this can apply But everyone’s is diff so they should watch the way to give them enjoyment (even if that way is out of order, some/alot of enjoyment [skipping parts] > no enjoyment [dropping the series D:] )
@@Pokemon3691 I personally prefer watching all parts in the exact order. Not doing that would be like watching Lion King 2, without watching the original.
fluff puff yes really tho. Going by dbz ep 1 context, he’s literally just a green evil guy who hates goku for some reason. U don’t even know if he’s an alien or what. It also makes it more confusing to who goku is, for a green guy to hate him so much.
@@goALECKSrad500 You didn't know the green guy was an alien? There's such thing as building up intrigue. If people find out about Piccolo later once they go back to watch DB, that isn't hurting anyone. If someone decides it isn't important, that also isn't hurting anyone.
That was actually due to the publishers who wanted to market part seven as a new manga in hopes of grabbing more attention and well new readers, but it has been stated that SBR was always intended to be the seventh part of the story of jojo.
Geoff's order: [Part 4] -Why is Jotaro important? -Why is Joseph important? -Who's Enyaba? -Who's DIO? [Part 2] -Okay, so that's Joseph. -Who are the Zeppelis? -Why is everyone concerned about this stone mask thingy? -Who's Straits? -Why is Speedwagon important? -Again, who's DIO? -Hamon? What happened to Stands? [Part 5] -Okay, so Stands again, where's Hamon? -Why was Polnareff (adult) with 17 y-o Jotaro and why are they on Egypt? -Why were the arrows in Egypt? -Seriously, who the fuck is DIO? [Part 3 - 1st half] -Oh, so that's DIO. -Wow, these Stands are so boring compared to "previous" parts. -Right, Jonathan exists. -Who's Jonathan? -Oh, Joseph's here. -Why is Jotaro a brick wall when he was so slim in Part 4/5? [Part 1] -Ok, so that's Jonathan. -Oh right, Stone Masks. Completely forgot about those. Wait, they're relevant? -Oh, so that's Zeppeli. -Wait, suddenly Hamon? -This part is so slow and boring to me :/ -I just want to go to Stardust Crusaders again. [Part 3 - 2nd half] -Great, time to wrap up Stardust Crusaders. -I wonder who willl die looking at the other parts hmmmmm. -I already knew what happens to Polnareff, Jotaro and Joseph, so I don't care about the ending. Congratulations, you made one of the worst orders to experience JoJo.
I think Geoff's argument is that all of those questions are _good things._ He specifically arranged it so all of the audience will ask those questions and subsequently become invested in finding the answers. On paper, this order seems terrible. But his argument makes sense to me. Starting the series strong from Josuke's perspective sounds interesting. One of DIO's greatest strengths as a villain is his mystery, and this order capitalizes on that. The only problem I have is that parts 1 and 3 are complete slogs, so combining them and having them at the end seems questionable. One good thing about JoJo is that it pretty much gets better and better with every part, and with this order it will seem like it is declining in quality instead. 4 > 2 > 5 > 3 > 1 is very close to how I would rank them in quality, so that might be a problem. The only other flaw is that going from stands to hamon with no explanation at all will be super confusing. EDIT: Oh yeah. It does spoil a couple of plot points. But I'm not sure how much that would effect enjoyment. Like does it really matter that we know Polnareff survives? Will a first time watcher make the connection that DIO's power is time stop (during the Hol Horse spiderweb and Polnareff stairs scene specifically) because of Jotaro in Part 4? I had known about DIO's time stop before watching JoJo, and those scenes were still god-tier.
Joe 魚 Sakana my personal gripe is one of the best parts of JoJo is experiencing the characters die and live. You have essentially ALL of Phantom Bloods ending AND Stardust Crusaders spoiled cause you know who lives, how they lived, and if they die or not in future installments.

Ironically enough, I've come to appreciate the first two parts more since this video. The core theme of the whole series is the value of life and the beauty of humanity. MRK I know no one asked or cares, but my hot take is if you weren’t at least somewhat interested by the first 3 or so episodes of part 1, I don’t understand what it is you’re liking/will like about the rest of the series. I absolutely loved the campiness of the plot and characters, the over-the-top presentation of the show, the child-like logic of the fights (like two kids with their action figures trying to one up each other), etc. all on my first watch. Jojo’s isn’t just the “stands series,” in fact a lot of the best fights in Jojo are when they don’t rely heavily on the power system. Of course people have their favorites, not to mention Araki’s general improvement in storytelling and art over the years, but the roots that make Jojo’s so special is still there in the early parts. There’s just more to it than what so many others like to vocalize/meme about.
@@Stickyz Exactly that. You get the result but not the cause. Knowing the ending doesn't mean the entire story is ruined. You still don't know how things turned up the way they did.
Which is why you should encourage part skipping. Think of all the people that miss out on speedwagon because gatekeepers wanted them to see him first. Denying people Speedwagon at all is much worse than seeing him later.

@@chrismaystar3014 yeah and i think it shouldn't be binged because this series was just not made for binge watching, especially stardust crusaders which seriously drags
I should say, I don't think Parts 1-2 are bad in the slightest. Araki stated that JoJo is a "Celebration of Humanity" and Hamon and Vampires are inherently better at communicating this fact than Stands are (initially).
Yeah me too and also that a lot of people said to me that Jojo gets better by parts. I also knew some memes from Jojo so it was very fulfilling to see them when they actually happened :) and part 1 has Speedwagon that says it all
The Basement Order doesn’t take into account Araki’s/David Production’s art style evolution. The characters become slimmer as the focus of the fights switch from physical to psychological, which is lost in this new order. Second, the payoff of the Sono Chi No Sadame in Joseph vs Kars wouldn’t be as impactful in the Basement Cut. That reprise drives home that Joseph is continuing Jonathan’s fight, as each consecutive JoJo does for the previous generation. Also without first knowing about Jonathan and DIO, we would not have the proper context to Giorno, as part of GW’s drama is seeing both of their personalities manifest in him. There is some merit in starting at DIU, I believe. The best stand-alone episode to gauge your interest in JoJo is Let’s Go Eat Some Italian Food. If you aren’t on board for everything that happens in that episode (humor, intrigue, body horror, Stands etc.), maybe JoJo isn’t for you.
Jason Hunter I wouldn’t recommend a newbie use the Basement Order for the reasons above, but i’m not opposed to hearing an account of their experience. It would be interesting to say the least.
@@chazjohannsen I agree with Jason at least on that the first point really doesn't matter greatly for enjoying the stories and anime themselves, it can be a cool thing to notice and the fact that you realize you are seeing it out of order still lets you understand this change was happening. The second part is a more legitimate reason and as he said in the video he doesn't think his is a perfect order just a order that gives benefits to watching it and different pay offs. This would be a pay off that is weakened by not seeing it in original order where other pay offs are increased. And the third would probably actually be a interesting thing to make you go BACK to Giorna for a second watch after you get through things with the new knowledge to see it in a different light, still a good thing if in a different way. Personally I also understood someones issue that it lets you know who's going to die ahead of time.....but considering the arc being talked about I feel like it'd honestly just give you an additional amount of 'Wait? The fuck he's back and alive? Did he not die?' I don't think either order are really ideal though. Personally the stories I enjoyed most in Jojo were Stardust Crusaders and Goldenwind while the others (Especially Phantom Blood.....oh god going back to phantom blood after stardust was like pulling teeth. I didn't even make it to Hamon.) bounced me off for various reasons. I'm sure I could get some more enjoyment out of the series, at the least DIU seems like it has elements I like in it to go with the bits I don't like in Jojo but I've heavily cooled off on my desire to go through it after forcing myself through Phantom Blood which is not at all the style of anime or manga I enjoy. Its basically why I'd just suggest watching whatever part of it interests you, because Jojo as a series is like....5 different genres. And if one is counter to what you like forcing yourself to watch it will only harm your enjoyment of the series. The only real benefit I got out of phantom blood was that it let me see how much better the writer had gotten by Stardust Crusaders......and weirder. Like Phantom Blood is weird sure but Stands just let them go batshit without needing some 'logical' reason beforehand.

Knowing a character will die does not erase the tension, it creates it. Besides, none of the characters who die are mentioned as being dead when they show up in flashbacks. Jotaro looking at the picture of his friends does not imply they are dead, just that he is out of contact with them so deaths like Kakyoin still hit. Knowing Joseph is alive in part 4 actually adds to the funeral scene in part 2. Instead of thinking Joseph died, you know full well he is alivr and are now in on the joke with him as he doesn't realize he is attending his own funeral, as well as when he pretends to be taken over by DIO. Instead of being in shock at his return to life at the end of part 3 and maybe scare that DIO is back, you are now in on his shenanigans in trolling Jotaro.

I was so close to just skip it but I didn't wanna be a part skipper. So I pulled through. The end was very satisfying tho. I'm kinda glad I don't decide to skip it. Then part 4. Oh man. I love part 4 so so much. I'm glad I didnt drop JoJo. Because part 4 was everything I wanted. A good story. Lovable characters. Slice of life comedy mixed with dramatic overarching story. I love part 4. Part 5 was alright. Don't get mad but I just enjoyed part 4 more than anything so part 5 couldn't top it. But it has it great moments. I'm an anime only watcher but I'm so excited for part 6. Anyway todays lesson is if u want to go chronological order dont ever drop JoJo. Pull through. Even if it's 40 episodes of the same thing. Keep going. Until u reach part 4. Than ur guaranteed to stay
I felt exactly the same as you for Series 1 to 3. But I dropped it at Episode 14. It has been in my Crunchyroll queue for years. I will take your advise and push through to season 4. Thanks.
@@jobin8613 Well yeah they aren't the same property, sure. They do both follow a timeline tho and watching them both chronologically is a valid way to do it. That said Monogatari release order adds a lot of mystery and intrigue to the characters and I thought that MB's order kind of hits similar notes
@@ram_259 Monogatari's order works because that's what the author intended to do(except Kizu adaptation, fuck them for that). Araki never wrote his story to be followed like this.
I see a lot of arguments about the negatives of not seeing part 1 or part 2. And the thing is, once the person who didnt start on part 1 becomes a JoJo’s fan they will go back and watch these parts. They just don’t have to watch them first.
As in the words of Gyro “The shortest path was a detour” meaning that the long path in life will lead you to becoming a much stronger person in this case that means that in order to become a Jojo fan who appreciates the anime/manga fully you must read it in its order even if it feels more difficult than reading it your way.
So if you loved everything from Part 3 onwards, but didn't watch 1 and 2 because the first episodes of each didn't interest you, then you're not a fan?
GreekDudeYiannis not exactly it just means that it will be much more difficult for you to enjoy other parts of you just skip to part 4 as then if you go back to part 1 you will be confused as to why there are no stands and when watching part 3 you will have no idea who DIO is. So a lot of people watching jojos this way will probably won’t enjoy the series as much as from parts 1-5(6-7)
This could maybe raises one's interest towards jojo, but then there ARE some parts in this that might make the average audience drop the show because of massive spoilers for example: part 4 spoils jotaro's stand, part 2 spoils part 1 because of straizo talking about everything part 2 also spoils erina surviving part 1 dio's kidnap and boat explosion part 5 spoils part 3 polnareff surviving all of those attacks as well as who died part 5 spoils part 1 dio surviving also on a side note breaking up part 3 and putting part 1 inside would turn from adventure to gothic to adventure star wars works because there's no main spoiler (also it's one story) but then you'd have to spoil integral final battles to construct this list. jojo being separate stories is maybe a point to consider, but then part 1, part 3 being spoiled is kind of further downgrading the story. i kind of see the point in this viewing order, but i beg to differ you have to get past the "considered worse" part 1 to further enjoy the story that's why maybe people love later parts because it just gets more interesting
That's why a lot of people tell new jojo fans to just force through the part 1, if you don't watch the struggle of Jonatahan and Dio nothing makes as big of an impact as it does when you watch part 1, the whole finale of part 3 is built on the fact that you know part 1, and you need part 1 and 3 to truly enjoy the best animated part, golden wind
but the machete order spoils a lot of stuff. when you finish 5, you go back to 2 already knowing that: the empire will fall. all jedi will be hunted down. luke's mom will die, so when anakin and leia end up together, her fate is already sealed. Dooku and grievous will die, since they aren't in the future. obi wan and yoda will survive every encounter. anakin will lose his final battle with obi wan, since anakin is fighting to the death, and we know obi wan will survive. but the point is not that. the point is that the story doesn't hinge on those reveals to work or be enjoyable. And the same goes for jojo. knowing that jotaro will be able to stop time doesn't make his fight with DIO less interesting. we know from the get go that he will have this power, the interesting part is HOW he gets there. that's why people who know the twist still enjoy it first time. the same goes for all of it. knowing that joseph will survive the fight with kars doesn't make the fight boring, especially because the "surviving" part is straight up bullshit. the fight is cool because of the hijinks involved.
I have way too much a completionist mindset to ever consider skipping anything. Don't care about canon/filler/etc, all must be consumed. I always just go in release order in any series I start, rather than some kinda of 'proper order'
The biggest problems with the Basement Order is that Part 4 spoils Za Warudo, and Part 5 spoils who dies in Part 3. Also, who wouldn't be confused about Hamon after watching Stand battles?
Sam Bishara Hamon to Stands is just the addition of a power system, not that complex, Joseph uses both of them Stands to Hamon is much weirder, suddenly one power system disappears completely and is replaced by something else with no explanation why.
Sam Bishara Where did Hamon go? Joseph is the only character in the group that knows how to use it. As I said, it’s just the addition of a power system.
I read a little bit of Stardust and a little bit of PB, so I had a weird Harmon-stand experience and... it wasn’t that hard to figure out? I was just like, “Oh it’s back in time and they didn’t have stands, cool.”
My problem with skipping a part of a series means that some arcs/parts don't get the recognition they deserve. People don't really talk about the original Dragon Ball, despite many fans claiming it to be superior to Z, simply because people want to see Super Saiyans. It's the same with Jojo. People don't really respect Jonathan in comparison to other protagonists. I personally wanted to skip to part 3 because I wanted to see stand battles, but Part 2 ended up being my favorite. I think it's okay to skip parts if you're not enjoying them, but you should atleast give it a shot
Sure, but if you really REALLY like the series you are likely to just go back and see the parts you skipped, if you don't well you just move on, and that's fine, literally no one loses if someone starts at part 5 and goes back and watches all other four parts that came before it, and if the person DOESN'T go back and watches the other four parts it means he was most likely not going to watch any other parts no matter where he/she started. Some parts will attract more people more than others, that will always just be a fact on any long running series (see The Lord of The Rings vs The silmarillion for example). And that is okay.
Carlos González spoilers are a massive loss. My watching order was 3-4-5-1-2-6-7-8 and I’ve rewatched the series multiple times with friends in the right order. Part 1 is special to me, it shows Araki’s ruthlessness that he’s very willing to kill the protagonist which raises the stakes for part 2. I already knew Joseph was alive so I don’t think I ever appreciated the final battle as much as my friends. Part 3 is essential to every single later part. Watching 5 before 3 ruins 5 because you don’t know who polneraff is and the excitement of seeing him again. One of my one wishes if I could turn back time is to forget all spoilers I read about jojo. I regret them greatly and really wish I had been able to experience the parts with no prior knowledge. Love the series to death but I’m super bummed about spoilers
I'm glad someone also brought up recognizing parts that get sidelined. I started with the Part 1 anime because it was the most available, and I think that even though it's not the best written or most interesting, it does have the most compelling personal conflict for the main character. A life long grudge between adopted siblings culminating in a supernatural tragic showdown.
The Dragonball example is completely different because we didnt have a way to watch the original. Nobody skipped Dragonball, they didnt even know it existed.
The comparison was not with respect to availability of the parts of the show. The point he was making was that the show was more easily accessible to audiences owing to the relative independence of the parts. Having complete understanding of the lore is not integral to enjoying something, and in certain cases it becomes part of the fun.
You are completely free to start jojo where you want, nobody is going to come to your house to stop you, but the best way to watch the show is still in order. If you know more about the show, you are most likely going to enjoy it more. Its still best to watch jojo in order.
I am bored and i only watch good animes. And i am running out of good animes. I cant stand 50 episodes or like that of garbage to get to the good part.
@@yourmajesty6678 Except, part 1 and 2 are really short and really good and part 3 is the best part hands-down. You really aren't going through 50 episodes of garbage to get to the good part. I also don't like going through a bunch of episodes to get to the good part but jojo hits different and I really enjoyed it despite being spoiled on it alot.
@@yourmajesty6678 Part 1 and 2 aren't "garbage", lol, just considered boring because it starts off like every generic anime for like 5 episodes. PLus, if you can sit through a ton of early episodes of Naruto filler, you can watch part 1 and 2 easily.
So existentially, Geoff just really likes prequels and rearranged the narrative structure of the jojo parts so he can watch them as such. The order definitely needed some reasoning because looking at it in a line up is just baffling. Loved the justification for it though. Definitely something to try after doing the right thing and watching it in order! Also for me, I can't suggest watching part 1 and 2 out of order only because one of my favorite parts. *Joseph pulling a tommy gun on Straits* and declaring war on vampires for what they did to Speedwagon. That just wouldn't have the same impact if you skip Part 1 before 2. Part 1's writing conditioned me to Jonathan's mindset and way of fighting. The left-field tommy gun catches everyone off guard because it's so out of line to what Jonathan would do, yet it's also done with all the same passion and courage. You immediately get that Joseph is related to Jonathan but clearly his own person too. I loved the sudden whiplash it caused.
Joseph is amazing but i wish i could get those 3 hours of watching Part 1 back. Jonathan is so fucking annoying, i was rooting for Dio the entire time.
Part 1 was, imo, interesting until it went full battles. I just never really thought hamon and vampires were all that interesting but Joseph and the Pillar Men made them work. But THUNDER CROSS SPLIT ATTACK will live on in my memory forever.
They complain that Jonathan is too boring for being a model gentleman, and then complain about Jotaro for being "too stoic" while disregarding the character development he had in between parts.
I think it's because the West has a lot of stories similar to the concept of Part 1 like a rival stepbrother trying to ruin the life of the other, or even the setting of gothic England. What people don't think about is that these stories and ideas were likely more fresh and innovative for the time they were written.
Phantom Blood sets up a lot of context for almost every part coming after it, sure it might be aesthetically different than subsequent parts, but is it really that hard to sit through, like, 8 episodes? We all love DIO, but he got all of his development in part one when he was still Dio Brando. The gravity of Giorno's identity holds much less weight without understanding the dynamic of Jonathon and Dio, and the brilliance of Joseph's wild and crafty character wouldn't be as significant without being comparable to the by the books, gentleman fighter that is Jonathon. I too didn't want to watch Phantom Blood originally, but I now see that I wouldn't enjoy the rest of the series nearly as much. I don't want to be a gatekeeper, but I do hope people understand that part 1 is still pretty important and meaningful to the series as a whole, and hope people enjoy it more.
@Cesar Mirano On His Twitter his timeline for watching is Part 4-2-5-1-3-6-7-8 And the amount of plot holes and making the story worse that leaves is huge. After part 4 you watch part 2. - You'll be confused on how hamon works. - You won't understand why Caesar's sacrifice matters so much other than "he hated Joseph but now he sacrificed for him". - You won't get to know about the stone mask or about why Jonathan and Dio were so important. - You won't understand Speedwagon's transition into a father figure for Joseph. After part 2 skip to part 5 - You won't understand who Dio is and why he's so Important other than "A bad guy Jotaro killed". - You won't understand the emotional weight behind Jotaro's picture of the stardust Crusaders. - You won't understand who polneraff is as a full character.
@@diooverheaven4317 "You'll be confused on how hamon works" It's explained well enough how it works in part 2 and even then, Joseph himself doesn't know how it works so it functions as a good narrative device for people just jumping in. Get fucked. "you won't understand why Caesar's sacrifice matters so much" You still won't. It honestly doesn't matter all that much. I didn't find that moment to actually be that well written considering there's very little weight behind it. We spend comparatively little time with Ceasar and he's an asshole for most of it. Araki kind of acknowledges this with Gyro being in part 7 from the very beginning. If you're suggesting it's because of William's sacrifice, Caesar explains that. Get fucked. "You won't get to know about the stone mask or why Jonathan and Dio were so important" They're NOT important to part 2, like at all. The mask is only kind of important, and even then... guess what? IT'S PROPERLY EXPLAINED. Get fucked. "You won't understand Speedwagon's transition into a father figure for Joseph" You don't need to. He can just exist as one, and also...IT'S EXPLAINED THAT HE'S A LONGTIME FRIEND OF ERINA AND JONATHAN'S. GET. FUCKED. "You won't understand who DIO is" He's fundamentally a different character in part 3 and knowing his backstory has absolutely no bearing on who he is now, and there are enough hints dropped in part 3 that it's easy enough to understand. Get fucked AGAIN. "You won't understand the emotional weight of the picture" If you're a fucking robot, maybe not. If you're not, you can understand that this is a younger Jotaro and that the picture was of him and his friends before. GET FUCKED YET AGAIN. "You won't understand who Polnareff is as a full character" Polnareff isn't a full character in part 5. He doesn't need to be. He's just an exposition dump. Araki could have replaced Polnareff with an agent of the Speedwagon foundation or just some guy who also tried to betray the boss and knew about the arrow. GET FUCKED FOR THE LAST FUCKING TIME.
You can totally skip some JoJo parts, skip some metal gear games, skip some kingdom hearts games, skip right to the infinity war and endgame movies just don't complain when shit doesn't make sense.
Skipping Metal Gear games doesn't matter because they are out of order anyway. You could skip KH Re Chain of Memories/Recoded/358 Days and not miss much, but yea if you skip straight to 3, you won't understand shit.
I've had trouble getting into JoJo for a while. I watched 8 episodes of Part 1 before dropping it. Years later I tried Part 3 and it still wasn't clicking, though I did like it more. A couple months ago me and my friend didn't have anything to do and I'd heard part 5 was fire so I suggested it. We loved it, then told the rest of my friends who had quit JoJo and told them watch part 5. And everyone likes it now and is retroactively watching earlier parts (and reading later parts).
Two have stated they wouldn't have become JoJo fans if we hadn't started with a more interesting part. So yeah let people skip parts and gravitate to what they might like. That's how you make fans
@@henrysmith5343 yeah. I know and I remember thinking I care so little for this I'm not going to put myself through another episode. Plus, I didn't really know anything about the other Parts just that Part 3 had a diff MC(I also thought Part 3 and 4,which has just started airing, were the same MC)
I don't think it's hate as much as it is disinterest. It's a very classic story of heroic gentleman vs evil step-brother with some magic (hamon) for good measure, so it ends up being the tamest part.
my friend tried the first couple episodes, said the animation style was too old for his taste, uninteresting things were happening in his opinion, hes well into part 3 though and loving every moment
Part 1 is kind of bad. Jonathan is a boring protagonist and the whole part has pacing issues like crazy. Including two whole episodes (nearly a quarter of the runtime) dedicated to fighting absolutely nobody villains. It can be entertaining, sure, but I can absolutely see logic with skipping Part 1. Hell, I see logic skipping any parts if you get a couple episodes in and aren't enjoying them. Each part is different enough and separate enough from each other that they can be decently enjoyed as a stand-alone. Part 4 in particular is so disconnected from the first two parts that it's damn near its own thing. Seriously, you can remove Jotaro and Joseph from Part 4 and lose basically nothing. For real, please tell me something Joseph actually did during Part 4. He was a McGuffin in two episodes, and then sat around with his thumb up his ass for the rest of the part. And most of Jotaro's contributions are standing around forgetting that he can use The World.
_Do people really care that you skip parts of whatever series you watch and jump to whatever part interests you?_ Not really. _Will you be judged for it?_ Absolutely.
@@Jau_Videos Uber Christian's judge me for having premarital sex. They care, but when I tried to tell him about that sex they don't want to hear it. They don't actually care.
This order is super weird, and leaves way too many questions. Imagine a completely clueless guy where to watch it in this order. Part 4: ok so that's a stand, but who's dio? Stand arrows..... alright but who's enyaba? And what does egypt have to do with this? We know the iconic jotaro lives, and he can stop time as well? I thought he was just a punchy boi? Joeseph? Who dat? Moving to part 2: oh there's joeseph, but where's the stands? What's hamon? Who's jonathan? Zeppeli? No clue. WHO ARE ALL THESE CHARACTERS?!?! Speedwagon, erina, straitzo, WHO ARE Y'ALL?!?! Part 5: again, who's dio? Giorno is dio's son, but he's still considered a jojo? What? Polnareff? I don't even know who you are. Wait, polnareff and jotaro travelled? Egypt again? On to part 3: Why's Dio in a coffin, and what's his connection to the joestars. WHO'S JONATHAN?!?! Ok so here we have jotaro, who we now know will be able to stop time, completely ruining that twist. We know that jotaro, joeseph, and polnareff will make it, ruining that tension. At least we finally got some explanations on stands, and their origin. Part 1: WE CAN FINALLY SORT OF PIECE IT TOGETHER!!! We finally know who jonathan is, who dio is, who zeppeli is, erina, speedwagon etc. We now also understand why Dio was in a coffin in p3. But jesus christ we've gone through too much to have an explanation this late. Finally part 3, battle in egypt: again, we know at least jotaro, joeseph, and polnareff are gonna live, and that star platinum will gain the ability to stop time. A lot of the tension from this part gets completely stripped away due to knowledge of future parts. Still an epic finale. Do you see now why this is a stupid idea? I also don't get why saying that you should watch it in order is considered gatekeeping. There's an order for a reason. And it's fine if you want to skip parts. I don't really care that much. But watching it like this will only lead to way more confusion. If you want to skip, at least try to keep it somewhat chronological. But hey, at least the manga order was reasonable.
You do realize that's the reason he put it like that right? To hype up the mystery of who these characters are and to get you excited to learn more about them. This was made for people who like discovering pieces of a world bit by bit, but also who don't want to be bogged down by almost 100 episodes of back story. Hence why he started with part 4, the most mystery-esque part. Also part 4 is just a good fun ride? Like sure you'll lose out on a bit of the details but part 4 is easily the best for new people to jump into without knowing the lore and without having to sit through the slowness of part 1.
@@seanholley1025 in some points i agree. However a lot of the twists and mystery from a specific part get ruined when you watch future parts. Case in point, part 4 and 5 ruining a lot of the tension in part 3. Knowing that star platinum learns to stop time, or knowing jotaro, joeseph, and polnareff survives. It's way more hype watching it in order, because then you'll recognize when they call back to older plot points, and you won't know what will happen next. You simply won't get the same feeling. Like seeing speedwagon, erina, and a decendant of zeppeli in part 2, dio's return in part 3, seeing more jotaro action, and seeing how far joeseph has come after 3 parts in part 4, understanding giorno's connection to the joestars in part 5, as well as witnessing polnareffs return. It just wouldn't be the same watching it in geoff's way. Sure there's mystery, but that mystery can be very overwhelming, and lead to a lot of confusion. And come on, waiting through almost the entirety of the animes to finally understand who jonathan and dio are is a little much, when to most people they are the first major characters we learn about. And sure there are people who enjoy the mystery aspect of shows, but the vast majority will probably enjoy the show more chronologically, even if you prefer mystery stories, which leads me to my second point. There's already a lot of mystery aspects in jojo. Even besides part 4. I don't think it's necessary to change the watch order just to get more mystery, when you'll probably enjoy it more chronologically anyway. I don't agree, but i see your point. I think a small amount of people would enjoy watching it this way, but to me it just feels wrong going against an established order, especially when aside from the mystery aspect, the alternate order makes very little sense, and i bet most newcomers watching it geoff's way would just be way too confused, and would get turned off.
@@seanholley1025 but then you're basically saying that we should spoil ourselves about the actual mysteries Araki wrote into the story and just create random ones that make no sense. Instead of "DIO is such a scumbag, how can Jotaro beat him?" we get "Not sure why we should care about this DIO guy, and we already know Jotaro can stop time"
@GiygasGaming [4K] [60FPS] The manga didn't get popular until part 3 came out, meaning that the majority of fans from that era (aka the reason JoJo was so big before the anime) read part 3 BEFORE reading parts 1 or 2. So in a sense, it wouldn't be so successful if not for part skippers.
Dalec Al That’s literally not the same dawg. That was in the 20th century, there is no reason to skip parts nowadays other then being a dumbass who just wants to skip through the funny MUDA MUDA memes
Ultimately people can experience a piece of media however they want to. You could read the parts in backwards order, and if you enjoy that, I'm glad. If reading it in backwards order makes you happy and gets you into the show, that's great, I want media I like to get the recognition and financial support I feel it deserves.. That being said, here's my argument for not skipping parts. First of all, the Phantom Blood anime is only nine episodes clocking in at three hours. That's very short compared to the 17 episodes of part two, the 48 episodes of part 3, and the 39 episodes of parts 4 and 5. You could just sit down, and watch it like a movie. It would be like watching one of the Lord of the Rings movie. Just set aside an afternoon, and you can watch all of Phantom Blood. Secondly, it sets up the characters, story, and stakes. Part three has so much more impactful if you saw the struggle Jonathon had with Dio, and how much Jotaro has to overcome. It really gets you invested, and makes you want Jotaro to finally stop Dio's torment over his family. Even part two is benefited by watching part one first. Part one was the cast struggling and barely winning against one vampire. Then part two's villains show up and can kill vampires with no effort, raising the stakes and showing how much more is on the line if Joseph and the gang looses. You wouldn't have those moments where you realize how much Joseph and Jotaro have the odds stacked against them, and subsequently the moments of triumph and victory when they manage to win. Thirdly, watching the other parts first spoils Phantom Blood. I didn't know Jonathon died at the end of Phantom Blood, so his death was much more impactful because I did not see it coming. Part two and three recap the plot of Phantom Blood, spoiling that surprise. Finally, Phantom Blood is just a damn good part, but I think everyone agrees later parts are better. Starting with the better parts and then going back to Phantom Blood is a slog, since it's worse than the others. But it's still good. If you start with Phantom Blood, you have nowhere to go but up. Phantom Blood perfectly sets up the show, so just start with it.
I remember seeing a post a few years ago from someone who had started with Stardust Crusader. They were talking about Joseph, and were wondering what he would have looked like if they had made a series about his younger years. That person had started with Stardust Crusaders, and they had never watched more than a few minutes of part 1 or 2. They legitimately did not know that part 2 was all about Joseph. Part 1 and 2 aparently just didn't appeal to them. This situation is why people say that you shouldn't skip parts. It's fine if you want to start at whatever part interests you most, but there's a lot, and I mean A LOT that you really are missing out on, if you never go back and watch the other parts. Imagine if someone didn't like the first 200 episodes of One Piece. They have no idea how the crew got started, and they don't care. Is it really "gatekeeping" to say that they would be better off going back at some point to watch that? What's funny to me, is that both myself and my roommate HATED stands at first. We really enjoyed part 1 and 2, thought that Hamon was a pretty neat ability, and fighting Vampires is a great premise. We eventually decided to watch through part 3, and we did start to enjoy it, and ended up liking the concept of stands. I have a friend who, just like my roommate and myself, did not like stands. Except he never decided to watch it anyway, so he stopped at the beginning of part 3, and has never watched anything else jojo. These were the people who I talked to when it came to jojo. Image my surprise when I found out what the internet thought of part 1 and 2? The Internet HATES part 1 and while 2 has less hate, it's still a turn off for a lot of first time viewers. I really don't know why my experience is so different. In this very video Geoff describes why he doesn't like part 1 and 2, and he sees as wrong with them. I can understand what the words he's saying, but to me it's like listening to someone that hates Fullmetal Alchemist. I understand that they don't like it, but without being in their shoes, I just don't see things the same way they do. I have a different friend who can't get past episode 4 of Gurren Lagann. They have tried to watch the series from the beginning at least 3 separate times, and it just doesn't work for them. Gurren Lagann was an experience like none other to me, and was one of the first anime I ever watched from start to finish when I was first getting into anime. I love Gurren Lagann, and I think it's one of the best anime ever made. Despite this, my friend does not enjoy Gurren Lagann at all. Something about it does not work for him, and he is not the type to push himself through multiple episodes of something he doesn't like, waiting for it to get good. That interaction with him forced me to realize something at a rather young age, people will like and dislike things regardless of how much I like or dislike them. But I still wish people would go back and watch part 1 and 2 if they don't want to start there.
Episode 4 of Gurren Lagann is notorious. Even I had trouble getting past it, and I went into Gurren Lagann with FLCL and Kill La Kill as my two favorite anime. So it's not like I needed convincing the show would get good.
I am that one piece fan who specifically refused to watch from the first episode. I asked the internet where I could start, a point after whatever squad they were building was done. I had seen some of the 4kids dub and got the gist. A nice guy online told me that most of the crew was around at the start of an arc in the early 200s and it's one of the best in the show (at that time one piece was at 400 something episodes). I started in the 200s and picked but details from flashbacks and context. There is plenty I missed but I didn't know or care, because the show was amazing. Two years ago I saw a clip from the g7 filler arc and was finally ready to marathon from the beginning. I had a great time. But, I didn't regret watching the show the way I did. And if I never went back to those first 200, it's fine since I had already watched 600 episodes of one-piece and loved it.
I think your order really only works when the person has been exposed to most of jojo already. If you are going in blind it is really damaging to the experience imo.
I'm gonna go with nah. I'm watching the whole series in order with someone who is already a huge fan of Jojo and lets be frank, there are grindier parts to get through. But it's no more tedious than any other shonen anime, like Yu-Gi-Oh or Bleach. Just watch the show in order. Put it on in the background, you"ll get the gist. Or if you really can't stomach it, read the synopsis of each part until you find one you like and then go watch the rest afterwards. Although you do you, it's just a show, who actually fucking cares? Also as someone who writes serialized fiction and has read it for years, I take offense with the concept that you can just start at the parts that sound interesting. I put a lot of work into what I wrote and the concepts I introduced. There are parts that were hard to write and the fact that people are just going to skip over them to get to the 'good stuff', frankly makes me want to not write it anymore. Just my two cents.
@@ranger8155 I completely agree. Pacing, when it comes to anime, is way more important than most people think it is. I have a really hard time getting into shows like Kill la Kill because everything happens so mindbogglingly fast and I'm not given enough time to let it all sink in. Jojo, on the other hand, has amazing pacing. For the most part, everything is sufficiently explained and given thorough attention without feeling like a slog, which is a balance that not many shows can strike. I'll agree that part 3's pacing is kinda meh but honestly the intensity of the stand battles (especially towards the end of the part) were enough to keep me interested anyway.
I think most series should be watched from the beginning. Especially when characters and important moments from earlier parts are playing roles in later ones. There`s always a bit of emotion lost when you didn`t see the earlier series. I would even say DBZ is the rare case, and a bad example, where you can skip the whole DB Part. The tone shifts dramaticly, important DB characters become nearly irrelevant and old rival roles get geplaced with new ones. And the only "whoa" moment that is connected with DB is the ape transformation. In the Joestar line you have important connections everywhere. Jotaro as a character that grows over 3 parts, Joseph in 2, the build up from DIO in the first one and so on. And starting in part 4, i can`t imagine how much emotions/hype would just not exist when Jotaro does anything. For example: every time he used The World was just a big hype because of the story how he gained it.
I was quite sad when i saw a discussion surrounding your proposed watch order of Jojo as it seemed mostly negative but I couldn't help but see it was people being stuck within an old mindset. Hmm, unlike the Star Wars order, this Jojo order does actually spoil the best bits. The outcome of Dio’s World is spoilt just by watching part 4
He was always an anti-hero. Even in season 1 this is established when he set Aang free from Zhao's current base of operations.
I like to start on the third episode. Watching Aang come across his dead mentor and realize that he's the last of his kind really hit me.
@@AirahsELL One of the requirements for being an anti-hero is being a protagonist, which Zuko, at the start of the show, is not.

To be fair, Avatar doesn't have the very separate segments that JoJo does though. It's all directly connected as opposed to having regular generation changes.
If you watch parts 4 and 5 before part 3 you don’t get any hype from seeing Jotaro and Polnareff in those parts
And WHY would you watch part 3 in 2 separate parts?

Its like reading a book by skipping to random chapters and piecing the different chapters together at the end of the book.
who cares?
I agree.
I don't get it, but I'm not gonna stop from enjoying jojo their way.

no it can be worse if you do part 8 then part 6 than 4
and put part 7 between part 3 1st half and part1
and here no one has an idea what going on
It's actually hard to do an order this bad, jesus fucking christ
@@gearedge Lmao. Still pretty tough to be that silly though.
Joe 魚 Sakana my personal gripe is one of the best parts of JoJo is experiencing the characters die and live. You have essentially ALL of Phantom Bloods ending AND Stardust Crusaders spoiled cause you know who lives, how they lived, and if they die or not in future installments.

Which kind of icecream do you have over there where the cone is the best part?? Your analogy supports Geoff's take, if you start from the base without knowing what's up top you might not even think it ever gets that good.
@@essneyallen6777 bruh, do you not have Drumsticks, wherever you are? There is solid chocolate at the bottom of that there cone, and my dumb-kid-ass found out the hard way that it's best saved for the end.

But you know, I live in Italy, where there's an ice cream shop every 500m and you often discard the cone because it's not worth it (especially if you don't like *very* sweet things). @@essneyallen6777 that just sounds wasteful, and a good waffle cone is usually not as sweet as the ice cream here in America. I know you're dead set in pointing out how my metaphor is bad and all that, but now I just really want some ice cream.
So thanks for that.
Ironically enough, I've come to appreciate the first two parts more since this video. The core theme of the whole series is the value of life and the beauty of humanity. A battle between magic sun-preserved humans and the literal embodiments of the rejection of humanity (too many of's, sorry) carries a much tighter message than the personification of one's own ego.

Most of the people who say "Part 1 is boring" haven't even watched it, they use it as an excuse to get to the hype part quickly.
@@returnedtomonkey8886 To be honest, I don't understand people who say that Part 1 is boring, there are more memes in these 9 episodes than in the whole part 3. Yes, maybe in the middle it's really boring, but there're only 9 episodes, 5 of which are awesome. You won't lose much if you spend the 3 hours of your time on Part 1. You will begin to understand memes, learn Dio's backstory, get a lot of emotions from the finale and be among the elite.
Is that the quote from from Jojo or Persona 4? It sounds like it could comes from both.
I personally recommend read/watch JoJo in release order. Seriously, your going to get the best experience.

I don't care what any of you say about Phantom Blood; Watching JoJo and not seeing Speedwagon in his prime is honestly the worst crime.
Which is why you should encourage part skipping. Think of all the people that miss out on speedwagon because gatekeepers wanted them to see him first.
Denying people Speedwagon at all is much worse than seeing him later.

@@ShaneLouisArmstrong Araki himself has said that one should watch/read JOJO’S in the order it was released. Me to especially thx to speedwagon
If you aren’t on board for everything that happens in that episode (humor, intrigue, body horror, Stands etc.), maybe JoJo isn’t for you.
that's nothing for a newbie to give a shit about, that's the depth only a fan is going to pick up on with anything approaching regularity
Did he not die?'
I don't think either order are really ideal though.
But are these little nuances and references to past parts actually important? They’re literally only there for older fans to enjoy.
I personally didn’t care about them and now after finding out part skippers get crucified for missing these I think I wish these little things weren’t there
@@projectpems8304 I actually started with the part 1 anime, and finished part 3 before the announcement of part 4. I feel that the fact I got to recheck the series again, allowed me to see more with the show than I would have if I decided to watch part 3 right away (as during the time I started the series, SC was just finishing its final episodes)

@JoJonta
I feel like he probably did guess how the like ratio is gonna be before putting this out
This could maybe raises one's interest towards jojo, but then there ARE some parts in this that might make the average audience drop the show because of massive spoilers
for example:
part 4 spoils jotaro's stand,
part 2 spoils part 1 because of straizo talking about everything
part 2 also spoils erina surviving part 1 dio's kidnap and boat explosion
part 5 spoils part 3 polnareff surviving all of those attacks as well as who died
part 5 spoils part 1 dio surviving
also on a side note breaking up part 3 and putting part 1 inside would turn from adventure to gothic to adventure
star wars works because there's no main spoiler (also it's one story)
but then you'd have to spoil integral final battles to construct this list.
jojo being separate stories is maybe a point to consider,
but then part 1, part 3 being spoiled is kind of further downgrading the story.
i kind of see the point in this viewing order, but i beg to differ
you have to get past the "considered worse" part 1 to further enjoy the story
that's why maybe people love later parts
because it just gets more interesting
starting at part 4 also undermines the finale of part 3 and will make people think the timestop is one of star platinum's normal abilities
That's why a lot of people tell new jojo fans to just force through the part 1, if you don't watch the struggle of Jonatahan and Dio nothing makes as big of an impact as it does when you watch part 1, the whole finale of part 3 is built on the fact that you know part 1, and you need part 1 and 3 to truly enjoy the best animated part, golden wind
exactly!! it's an earned experience, and parts 4-5 wouldn't be half as fun if you didn't persevere through the first few parts
but the machete order spoils a lot of stuff. when you finish 5, you go back to 2 already knowing that:
the empire will fall.
all jedi will be hunted down.
luke's mom will die, so when anakin and leia end up together, her fate is already sealed.
You forgot part 6 and jotaro. If you didn't warch part 3 you wouldn't care about him dying in part 6
I have way too much a completionist mindset to ever consider skipping anything. Don't care about canon/filler/etc, all must be consumed. I always just go in release order in any series I start, rather than some kinda of 'proper order'
Yeah bro saaaame!
The biggest problems with the Basement Order is that Part 4 spoils Za Warudo, and Part 5 spoils who dies in Part 3. Also, who wouldn't be confused about Hamon after watching Stand battles?
That order assumes you got spoiled by memes and confusion from stands to hamon is the same as from hamon to stands in my opinion in my opinion.
Sam Bishara
Hamon to Stands is just the addition of a power system, not that complex, Joseph uses both of them
Stands to Hamon is much weirder, suddenly one power system disappears completely and is replaced by something else with no explanation why.
@@sirapple589 fair enough but at least for the start of part 3 you ask where did hamon go. For example, Etika watching future part ops
Sam Bishara
Where did Hamon go?
Couldn't agree more i had the same situation and decided to give part 1 a shot at least ended up loving every second of the show
Carlos González spoilers are a massive loss.
The previous parts will give you the context to enjoy your favorite part even more
I'm glad someone also brought up recognizing parts that get sidelined.
And most of the returning cast from OG Dragon Ball have their stories already finished/established before Z came into play
Yeah what an unnatural comparison. People who have a choice tend to watch the first season of any anime first. DBZ didnt leave Americans any choice.
The comparison was not with respect to availability of the parts of the show. The point he was making was that the show was more easily accessible to audiences owing to the relative independence of the parts.
Having complete understanding of the lore is not integral to enjoying something, and in certain cases it becomes part of the fun.
A lot of people start watching jojos from part 4 or 3 without knowing that the were other part. the DBZ comparison is a good example
@@blocherxk6618 that's just not true. If that's actually true then that person is just ignorant.

Maxi Iroh can’t argue with that, just goes to show that most of the time the villain is more interesting than the hero
Part 1 was, imo, interesting until it went full battles. I just never really thought hamon and vampires were all that interesting but Joseph and the Pillar Men made them work.
But THUNDER CROSS SPLIT ATTACK will live on in my memory forever.
Maxi Iroh it is really more of a DIO origin story than anything.

A lot of western fans are the fucking worst. Can you believe that it's apparently gatekeeping to constantly encourage to watch shit in order?
I actually liked all the parts, But ya, I even see some people that don’t even watch Jojo say Part 1 is boring or be skipped
People say Jonathan is boring. But that was the point. Araki made Jonathan boring to set up the other jojo's

This fanbase literally wouldn't exist without skipping to Part 3.
Dalec Al
That’s literally not the same dawg.

Scarred Hero what about what he said about gatekeepers don’t you like?
They also miss the very first
Dio vs Joestars, Dio's back story and so many more.
Eloquent 👍
I also hated the idea of stands at first, buy then I started to enjoy it as A kept watching
Geoff's *really* trying to see how far he can go with this, huh? All right, more fun in the comment section, for me!
Telling someone to start with season one episode one isn't gatekeeping, it's watching a show.
I think your order really only works when the person has been exposed to most of jojo already. If you are going in blind it is really damaging to the experience imo.
At this point the only way new fans come into Jojo is with extensive prior exposure.
Just my two cents.
honestly man except for part 3, jojo has pretty good pacing. it's one of the easier animes to digest than otheres.

@@snkybrki its not we're personally offended, we're just trying to prove a point that hes going out of his way to not understand. Hell he made his own (shitty) watch order.
@@Avatarbee Also, you're completely misunderstanding. Obviously you watch something in order. Common knowledge. This guy is going around saying you shouldn't watch it in order and watch it in his order, and there alot of reason why its not good. We aren't getting super duper angry. We're just proving a point.
I don't really understand why Phantom Blood gets so much hate, and or recommendation to skip. I started my Bizarre Adventures with the Phantom Blood manga and that was all it took to turn me into a fan. Honestly it's still my second favorite arc for JoJo.
FettManTAG phantom blood was ok but it was really short unlike the second half of part 3
The first 3 epispdes of Phantom Blood are just amazing.
Agreed, I am more than glad I did not skip it. I think it was well worth watching.
Phantom Blood kicks ass.
Its because everyone knows stands and memes and are shit heads who dont really want to watch something. They want an imaginary product that they have made in their own minds. IT MEME IT POSE IT STAND THAT JOJO HURRR DURRR. Meanwhile you just fuckin watch as the memes are through all of it.
Please, you need to see the goofiness and greatness of early Dio
Video: *show's up*
Me, reading the title
Also me: *sweats nervously*
I felt my heart stop for a sec. Poor guy better escape while he can
he should have just said "you can skip parts" instead of "you should skip parts'"
@@seemoore9175 Yeah it's a bit on the clickbait side of the force, but to be fair, knowing the toxic part of the JoJo fanbase, this case was already lost either way lol
Mother's Basement: You can skip JoJo parts
JoJo fans: So, you wanna get cancelled...
Fandoms are ruled sadly by toxic people. Sad facts.
The irony - based on most old JoJo fans' political beliefs
JoJo fans disowned his ass a while ago o well
@CJ Mag
Probably because they are the loudest? Apparently my standard for being toxic is way different from many, so I don’t really see as many toxic fans as people say so idk
I doubt it's genuine toxicity being displayed here. It's more so staying true to the meme.
Part skipping is actually a Jojo reference because King Crimson's whole power is skipping parts of the Jojo timeline
shit your right
Jojo fans: [intense sweating]
People who skipped part 5: WhoS kInG CriMsoN
That’s why He’s in Eternal Damnation
And then GER punished King Crimson and never allowed him to reach the truth, making Diavolo enter an eternal death loop.
Clearly you don’t own an air fryer.
What does that even mean
@@iiayuwokii569 It became a meme a few months ago where stating that someone clearly doesn't have an air fryer means they're clearly unsuccessful plebs, as having your own air fryer is considered a luxury. I don't know why they chose air fryers to gauge someone's success, but it's the internet, they'll make memes about anything they want.
