I had the same thing happen to me a while back ! Couldn't figure out why a brand new chain just wasn't working til I figured out my sprocket was wore and it was mushrooming the back side of the drivers!
I bought one of the .50 gauge 32in husky lite weight soon as they realised the knew ones and I love it run it on my 372xp and 385xp and 395xp all and love it still looks knew after good use holds up good I know the 36in where .63 gauge only the new husky lite weights the other where sizes where .50 gauge so might double check everything i even use the same chain on my bar same oregon chain and works amazing no complaints love the channel and content you really have made a difference in my life now I have gotten out of doing heroin and finally got clean 4 years now from watching you channel helped me down the road of recovery and now I'm clean my son back that's 5 years old and know have a huge collection of power saws my favorite I have I my poulan pro 455 and p60 pioneer 😁

You spooled up 063 chain for a husky mount Sugi bar. The tip caters for 058 & 063 but the guide rails should be 058. If its a Stihl mount it could be 063. Check the numbers near the mount not what's written on the tip because they use they same tip for 2 gauges.
According to Husqvarna Canada, the 32" only comes in .050 & .063, there is no .058. Seems pretty odd but that's what's listed. They have the .063 as listed for the 592xp so maybe it's to compete with Stihl guys so the chains are interchangeable?
Hello Buckin, I metal detect alot and in the winter ( not snake season) I go detecting back in the cypress swamps here in south eastern North Carolina. Once in a while I find an axe head or two. One I found is a double bit that has been folded over and forge welded over the split/broken socket that held the handle. ( if you put a wet axe outside and it freezes, the handle can split the socket it rested in. The ice expands in the wet wood and the steel/iron can not hold such expansion). The repair must have been made in desperate times by a good blacksmith. I will set up my electrolysis tank and clean it up along with another single bit I found near there. The old cypress stumps still show the kerfs where the hoppin boards were set to stand on while sawing with the big old crosscut saws. The buttress of these old stumps can be huge. the hoppin boards got the jack above the width of the buttress. If the axe cleans up nicely, I will box it up and send it to ya. Smiling, George.

We have eastern diamond backs, timber rattlers, cane breaks and cottonmouths and copperheads. I have a pair of hip waders that I patched, a rattler hit me hard on the shin, but his fangs never reached far enough through the boot to get me. I look forward to cold weather so I can detect in less stress. I enjoy the old axe heads when I find them. I wonder what hard lives the men that used them lived. I will check in once in a while when I find an axe head or related tool. Smiling, George.
I have planted some Bald Cypress up in upstate New York and they grow quick, but they will never go to seed and reproduce up here at the limits of their growing zone. They aren't naturalized here. When axe handles or splitting maul handles get wet and or freeze, it will also sometimes crush the wood cells and shrink when dry. I don't let my handles get wet if I can help it, and in more recent years I'll cover the end with epoxy.
@@richtomlinson7090 when I was a kid, Dad would stand the axe up in an old bucket with boiled linseed oil in the bottom... Seems like that kept em swelled tight and waterproof. Seems like they didn't get rust either... Of course, rust and calluses rarely visit the same tool.

But I could see how freezing a soaked handle could split a slim axe head at the cheeks, the heavy heads like hammers and mauls just crush the wood cells.

hi just watched you with the chain binding in the bar . i had similar a week ago and decided the cause was new chain and new bar both at their new tolerances so the bar groove was small as it ever will be and the drive link the biggest it will be add some temp and there is an interference fit I increased the bar oil and free ran it to lap it in it worked great when i went back to the timber no temp marks on the bar cheers from Australia

Oregon timber faller here... Love the sugi haras being they are lighter but still nice and rigid. And those new husky bars are essentially a sugi bar but i have had huge problems breaking those sugis right where you said they break. Have a couple in the garage broke 3 inches up from the dogs at only a couple months old each. Have not tried the new husky bar yet but I might need to give one a try I guess.
I had the same thing happen to my saw. Had some custom chains made for my Oregon 32" bar on my husky 572. The chains were #73 also. Exact same chain as you have Billy.
Hen I got my ms660 ,it was recommended I get the lite bar. Only because I never used one that big before. WOW , love the lite series bars now. Game changer for sure.

I haven't looked at a sugihara bar yet, but I'd bet they're grade AAA , in fact, I'm going track me one down, or the rebranded Husky version.
Hi Billy, i dig your channel. You have taught me a lot about felling trees, enough to keep me alive (in fact completely unharmed so far). I have a Husq. 455 Rancher and any time it throws the chain the drive sprocket wil chew up several drive teeth. This is a difficult problem to fix in the field, requires stretching the chain and filing the drive teeth at the same time. Usually its better to just put a different chain on and fix the other at home on the vice. Anyway, rock on!
It's almost like there was a mismatch between the chain pitch and sprocket pitch. Like trying to run .375 chain with a .404 sprocket, or even a .325 sprocket. That'd do it!! Blessings Buckin. Other than that, maybe that chain was way too tight to behin with. That thing looked like a banjo string. Then you said the Oregon chain doesn't stretch. That's personally what I think happened.
I agree. Happend to me also , when I threw a chain and the chain catcher grabbed it. Being not in a possession of a belt grinder I had to fix it with a file ;-) Worn or damaged sprocket can also cause this.
Exactly the same thing happened to me, drive sprocket was a .325 and the nose sprocket was for a .375 (3/8") it burred up the chain drive links. I had asked on a. chainsaw forum and no one came up with a correct answer, had to figure it out for myself, after finding that the the saws came with two different pitch sizes.

Billy I had that happen when I ran a .375 chain on a .325 sprocket. The miss match bent all the drive links over. I was repairing a used saw and the saw should of had a .375 sprocket on it as built.
Still drinkin a pint then climbin up them trees to do your work...all the power to ya you crazy fck glad to see youre still rippin with all 5 fingers an 3 arms
Now that I think about it, this may have happened before I replaced the worn sprocket on my Stihl 066 magnum that I bought used. It has given me a lot of good use milling wide slabs, but now I think the coil wire is going south. It's about 30 years old.
About a month ago I bought the same bar. I put a fresh CJ105 straight out of the box on and had the same experience. I threw an old bar on and it ran beautiful. Looking closely at the bar I found burnt lacquer in the groove. A few q-tips and acetone later and the bar has worked great. Heavy as a brick compared to my Sugi but a very rugged smooth running bar. Just my experience, others may vary.
The 28 inch forester platinum on my 272xp is heavy like that does a nose dive lol, I bough an 24 inch archer bar and chain for my hot rod hisky 350 couple years ago that somehow got burs on every drive link, was a pain to flat file it.. peace and love to our Community and welcome new subscribers:)
Man Buckin you guys sure are doing good on your current fuel prices. Regular in Michigan is about $3.39 your getting the good stuff for like $1.44 if my math is correct.
I use a blue or red marker to mark every 10 drivers.... If you don't want to bolt your breaker or spinner down, bolt a piece of angle on it longways underneath so you can clamp them in a vice. I might bolt both to one piece of angle so they are always together, and just flip it in the vice
I had a similar thing happen with a cheap bar, it filled up the groove with sawdust on the first use and jammed, I cleaned it out and it was ok after that.
Those are good bars , they are made by SugiHara and I’ve ran them for a while. I’ve had one for a long time and hasn’t shown any signs of wear I think I hit the rails one time.
I just got my first ever personal saw, a 372xp with an x-tough light bar too and had this exact problem. But I only cut one round and then stopped cause it was sounding slow and bogging down a bit and I was wondering why it was so tight and getting stuck just like yours. I haven’t investigated it though like you so tomorrow I’m going to check that out.
It happen to me too at a job site it got caught to the point the chain did not spin at all and it got stuck to bar like it was glue to it I had to use a flat head screw drive to pull it apart i had to do it all around the chain so I can pull it off the bar couldn’t figure it out till now thanks bucking
Im no expert but when you fitted the chain it looked really tight, it may have had something to do with it, if thats your only problem you are a lucky man, im lucky if i can keep my saw going for 10 mins, if its not the saw its the chain, theres always something, with your saws they run great, just got a 372xp and just need to look at the low screw and the revs drop, i would send it to ironhorse for a port like yours if i were a bit closer, anyway i think im now addicted to powersaws bc of you Buckin ha ha, keep up the good vids
The issue was his drive link tips got mangled and created a drag in the bar. Over tightening will indeed slow the saw down; but as the saw and chain heat up, the chain is consequently stretched faster. In other words, it would have loosened up if it was merely over tightening.
that saw sounds so good. maybe that bar did not get so mutch oil in the beginning and did get too hot.a did have similar problem with my new husky saw and was wondering what was the problem.not bad ide but some oil in the bar when its new and first run with it.cool axe heads.

I've had the same issue when the chain flies off the bar and hits the stock chain catch on stihl saws. Teflon rollers help a lot.

Being a pipe welder, I think I may be able to tig out a decent muffler. The muffler on the old saws I found need to be redone.
About a month ago I bought the same bar. I put a fresh CJ105 straight out of the box on and had the same experience. I threw an old bar on and it ran beautiful. Looking closely at the bar I found burnt lacquer in the groove. A few q-tips and acetone later and the bar has worked great. Heavy as a brick compared to my Sugi but a very rugged smooth running bar. Just my experience, others may vary.
Those are made by Sugihara so don't know how its heavier

The 28 inch forester platinum on my 272xp is heavy like that does a nose dive lol, I bough an 24 inch archer bar and chain for my hot rod hisky 350 couple years ago that somehow got burs on every drive link, was a pain to flat file it.. peace and love to our Community and welcome new subscribers:)
Man Buckin you guys sure are doing good on your current fuel prices. Regular in Michigan is about $3.39 your getting the good stuff for like $1.44 if my math is correct.
Only on BBR’s channel will you find a “quick fix” titled video that 30+ min long. Scratching my head though cause I’m not sure what the quick fix was.

I think my first thought would be to mic the chain dogs and the groove on the bar. Just a thought
I use a blue or red marker to mark every 10 drivers....
If you don't want to bolt your breaker or spinner down, bolt a piece of angle on it longways underneath so you can clamp them in a vice.
I might bolt both to one piece of angle so they are always together, and just flip it in the vice
I had a similar thing happen with a cheap bar, it filled up the groove with sawdust on the first use and jammed, I cleaned it out and it was ok after that.
Those are good bars , they are made by SugiHara and I’ve ran them for a while. I’ve had one for a long time and hasn’t shown any signs of wear I think I hit the rails one time.

I had that truck at 3:40 I can tell you were up after sunset working on this.
Husqvarna bar requires Chain Full chisel, 3/8" pitch, .058 gauge. If your chain is 3/8" pitch, .063 gauge, it won't work.

I just got my first ever personal saw, a 372xp with an x-tough light bar too and had this exact problem. But I only cut one round and then stopped cause it was sounding slow and bogging down a bit and I was wondering why it was so tight and getting stuck just like yours. I haven’t investigated it though like you so tomorrow I’m going to check that out.

It happen to me too at a job site it got caught to the point the chain did not spin at all and it got stuck to bar like it was glue to it I had to use a flat head screw drive to pull it apart i had to do it all around the chain so I can pull it off the bar couldn’t figure it out till now thanks bucking
Try out the lazer or the forester bars they use same tips from the Oregon bars love them

Im no expert but when you fitted the chain it looked really tight, it may have had something to do with it, if thats your only problem you are a lucky man, im lucky if i can keep my saw going for 10 mins, if its not the saw its the chain, theres always something, with your saws they run great, just got a 372xp and just need to look at the low screw and the revs drop, i would send it to ironhorse for a port like yours if i were a bit closer, anyway i think im now addicted to powersaws bc of you Buckin ha ha, keep up the good vids
The issue was his drive link tips got mangled and created a drag in the bar. Over tightening will indeed slow the saw down; but as the saw and chain heat up, the chain is consequently stretched faster. In other words, it would have loosened up if it was merely over tightening.

that saw sounds so good. maybe that bar did not get so mutch oil in the beginning and did get too hot.a did have similar problem with my new husky saw and was wondering what was the problem.not bad ide but some oil in the bar when its new and first run with it.cool axe heads.
