Hey Aaron, do you have any specific brand of fishcake that you're using or you would recommend? I tried some brands but the fish cake seems to be easily broken when folded and put to the sticks.

Hi Aaron and Claire me and my daughters love Kdramas and EXO so as mentioned before in your other vid that we really wanted to go to Korea bec of them but now we have another reason that is to meet you, if we can. Anyway I like to do tteokboki with fish cake but not sure if I can make it at home or do we need to buy them in store.
We can make fish cake at home but almost everybody doesn't make it at home and just buys it. If you get it from groceries, I recommend you to buy one. 😊

We can get it from supermarkets or Korean dollar shops very easily. You should check out the supermarkets near you! 😆

That was my thought too. wouldn't the fish cakes add flavor to the stock/broth? That makes more sense

Any substitute for the kelp? And is it okay to use any type of radish?
I would say only MSG would be substitute. Because that's what kelp do instead of MSG.😅😅😅 About radish, we don't have many kinds of radish in Korea but I think you can use any type of radish which makes deeper flavor.😊

You can still make it! You can make broth, take out all the ingredeints and make fish cake soup after that! 😊
