Dude, idk how you do it, but you always bring the most amazing mods to the table, thank you so much for giving me a reason to go through my 5000th Skyrim playtrough
I would recommend "Morrowloot ultimate" It system make the game alot harder to venture out the world, most likely you will face lv60 enemies in Nordic dungeon, Drwarven dungeon are no go at beginning, making players think what needed to do and where to go.
I think I speak for most people when I say that I don't want a harder combat system, but rather a more complex combat system. It's too simplistic, it needs to be something like Dark Souls or Witcher.
@@pinkpanther6443 yep, you sure can. that's what I meant. the combat should be more complex, not more difficult. if we wanted tough to kill enemies then we can just increase the difficulty.
@@yami2957 these mods don't just make enemies damage sponges it makes enemies levels kind of scale with you and place more enemies in certain locations while reducing the amount of loot you will encounter and it makes npcs use all the spells modded or not which makes encounters more varied plus making you level zero at the start so all of that actually adds complexity to the gameplay because simply increasing the difficulty wouldn't do any of those things
I've been using Arena + Hand Placed Enemies for a long while now. They are great. I also used Encounter Zones Unlocked above that. Was playing with the thought to install High Level Enemies, I think I will try it.
I've been wanting something like a scarcity mod for some time. My characters get too rich too quickly, for my taste. They also get enchanted weapons more quickly. There are other good mods here but that is the one that interests me the most. :)
If you want to make it harder without mods just have something like max armour rating at like 400. Dont wear a helmet because your that hard core lol Dont eat vegtable soup.
Great video mate, keep up the amazing work. Always a pleasure seeing your video popping up in my feed. Will definitely be adding these mods to my list.
One thing I want to add, and it's an older one but still frequently updated: Skyrim Redone by t3ndo. It's complicated to setup but it makes the game MUCH harder. Even on Apprentice or Adept it can feel like legendary and you can absolutely get 1-shot in a lot of areas. However it also makes you stronger too. The idea is, why would the player be able to easily survive getting chopped by a giant axe? And for that matter why would enemies be able to take so many hits from that.
Although many enjoy changing the combat into something akin to Dark Souls (with the blocks, dodges, and overpowered hits) I do not. Most of this is due to me staying in 1st person 90% of the time. But that is the excellence of Skyrim - you can mod it to be exactly what you want and make it yours - whatever that may be! I have about 2500+ hours in Skyrim, from XBox 360 to PC and just use Wildcat, Mortal Enemies, and a few more. Regardless, excellent video revealing many mods for people to experience.
Hahah yeah the last one is a problem. In vanilla skyrim, okay maybe. In modderds skyrim? That sounds like a nightmare. The amount of stuff that could go wrong.... Man I died because a swarm of slaughterfish started flying through the air and getting the whole city guard aggro'd on me because of a bug with extended encounters where it forced two people on opposite sides of a lake to fight. One thing lead to another and I died fighting a whole city of enemies.
Really nice list mate. I would also suggest the mods: Experience & Shadows of Skyrim - Nemesis and alternative Death System. Will make the whole thing really interesting. :D
This is a fun list, but i really wish the enemy ai can be modified to be way more active (moving a lot, attacking way more frequently, trying to do combos, reacting by blocking sometimes, better positioning) that would truely raise difficulty in a more fair way instead of just higher level enemies, more enemies, more damage, more health...
So is this new toxicity mod compatible with mods like Ineeds?? Also does anybody know of a mod that adds the arcane fever system from Enderal into Skyrim cause I've looked all over the place and I haven't been able to find anything. However perhaps I'm simply the only masochist who'd actually want to have that in Skyrim LOLXD!!.. Seriously though it would be so awesome to have both a toxicity and arcane fever system in Skyrim, am I the only one who wants this??? 😐
I was just playing on Xbox without any mods and I first went to bleak falls Barrow at a pretty low-level and I killed everything except the last couple of draugr past these moving blades things because I was on legendary without a follower and I kept getting killed. So then I came back way later 10 levels higher and the old enemies I killed bodies were still on the floor but new ones had spawned with a higher level so the dungeon wasn't locked to that first level, though this may have been a bug because I was playing without the unofficial patch.
THANK GOD I FINALLY FOUND THIS VIDEO AGAIN!!!! This video has mods that I can't find anywhere else at all. And I've been looking for it for the last month to get the healing and enemy SPID mods. Thank you for this phenomenal video!!! And I'm SO GLAD I found it again.
I don't know. Playing a full mage in legendary since level one and getting one shot by every arrow I didn't manage to dodge makes it hard enough, I don't need that ^^
Frist of all thank you for the recommendations. I'll definitely be trying some of them out. I used to own a copy of legendary edition when it came out but with all the new stuff on SE and AE, I'm thinking of buying skyrim again. So I'm curious how many of them will actually work with AE.
I use skyrim unleveled, experience, LOOT, combat mods, a very important combat mod is locational damage. Makes head shots matter. Locational damage is great with skyrim unleveled other wise enemies are just way too OP.
Enemy (R)evolutiom looks interesting and useful, thank you! Skyrim Souls is a small mod that changes everything, recommended. If you are willing to work with SkyTweak you can adjust those parameters like Zero Skill. Bonus track, also reduce your experience gains, like 4-5 health/magicka/stamina points per level instead of 10 or reducing you carrying capacity to a more realistic 100-200 and gaining 1-2 per level. that way late game you are not so powerful and blends perfectly in the game. Also can be very useful to get rid of annoying mechanics, like tempering, with Disable Tempering Upgrades. IRL tempering is done when a weapon is made, you can barely improve it by retempering, that way you will hardly reach the armor cap and you will lose less time at the bench. With SkyTweak you can add more hitpoints to NPCs, that way you benefit the low level ones which are really easy, for animals you need SkyTest. Also with SkyTweak you can finetune the sneaking aspect of the game or the falling damage or the health you recover overtime... the list goes on. Also useful is Simply Balanced for finetunning some aspects like overall damage dealt and received or equalizing the damage of each type of weapon (1h, 2h, projectiles). And to further improve the realism in combat I suggest Know Your Enemy which creates 2 patches for armors and foes for your entire load order. This mod applies bonus and malus depending on the type of weapon and armor, and resistances and weakness to creatures. The only "problem" is that you must repatch every time you change your load order which we do a lot (too much XD). Finally 2 little gems that everyone must try: Cobb Encumbrance which reduces your movement progressively with the weight added to your inventory. And Fighting Fatigue, where you can select the amount of stamina needed for combat, running or swimming, something that I think is basic in every load order. Do you remember that we reduced the gains in stamina to 5? Now you will feel the hard way of the warrior. In fact I can say that with all the changes I made I can put 100% damage dealt and received, basically easy mode in Vanilla, and the difficulty feels clearly superior.
Used to play on a very slow pc; took 10-30 minutes just to load a save, so I used cheats not to die. Now that I have a much better pc, I guess I there's no excuse not to check these out.
Hi Soft, great video, would you be able to briefly clarify how to implement these into the mod list pls? It’s been few years I’ve done this. Would bash patch suffice or there’s more to it. Many thanks!
I always hated pausing the game to heal so I got super into restoration magic. Trust me that skill tree can get insanely overpowered relatively quickly and so few people use it.
honestly, I have thought long and hard about the use of all these, and I think the one I enjoy most, is "scarcity" ... it makes the game SOOOO much harder, and SOOOOOOOO much more rewarding when you find a cool piece of armor. Having enemies dropping glass armor by the time you are lvl 10 is too cheat in my oppinion. I think its coming from other mods I have installed like enemy mods.. BUT! Scarcity fixes this. I also have a lot of loot mods because I love collecting stuff and am a bit of a hoarder, but just because I like veriety of loot, doesn't mean I want a lot of it. I want items i find that are good to actually be rare, and that makes it that much more valuable. Pair this mod with "loot and degradation" for an extreme playthrough where you have a hard time finding armor, and when you do, you have to manage its degradation levels and weigh weather its worth it or not to go into battle. Sorry I'm a bit of a survivalist extreme hardcore gameplay ho
"die when killed" is a bit too much especially when you have a ton of difficulty mods installed. BUT I do think there should be a penalty when you die, and so i use "shadow of skyrim" and put a gold cost to every time you die. "Impa Sekiro Combat" has a similar mechanic where you could adjust the amount of gold you lose every time you die. It is a combat mod, but you can disable every combat feature in the mcm if you want just the death handeling mechanics.
I have a question....for me being a beginner when it comes to modding, on the nexus page for the Skyrim Souls RE it says something about Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. Any info/advice when it comes to downloading? Did you have to do this as well to get this mod to work?

@greirat22 yup, exactly, I agree with every word, bethesda basically never made a single game in their career, at some point they realised they could just sell a trailer instead of a finished product
"makes the game harder" all of these mods with the exception of the dark souls menu and potion spamming are just grindy wastes of time which add nothing to the game. I hate to break it to you but removing character progression and making it harder to level doesn't really make for a fun and rewarding experience. What's the point of being level 80 if i'm never going to see it? Same level enemies ruin that experience. Grinding skills pre level 40-50 is also the easiest thing to accomplish so starting at level 1 does nothing. Permadeath ruins every single game because why experiment and have fun, it's too risky and will end a run possibly dozens of hours in advance. Making scarce loot does nothing even harder because you just end up crafting everything and still becoming the same overpowered. Removing loot from dungeons makes it a waste of time to explore. Adding enemies allows for poor design to completely ruin other gameplay mechanics if the author decided to balance around your stereotypical heavy armor run in and fight everything gameplay which i see everyone playing. The only way to increase difficulty in this game is to make both parties punishable the exact same way but allow both parties to exploit it. Not just make the enemies do more damage. Turns out adding mechanics like parrying, rolling, stealth, and counters to spells and effects are what creates enjoyable difficulty. Try using combat mods and mechanics changers instead of a fucking grindy "difficulty" slider. Fucking horrible video, you should be ashamed.

Wow i'm really fucking pissed at this video, it sucks ass.
