Johnny!! Can we talk about that "blue steel" stare from the hood of your charger! Zoolander would be proud, that was pretty epic! Great video Mate, the quality of your show just keeps improving, but totally love the fact that you are able to showcase the every-man's barn find next to millionaire's collections. Thank you for the comment. Yeah, this channel is all about automotive diversity, and enjoying the stories and what machines mean to people. Barnfinds are Jonny's favourite episodes to film, because it is chance for him to go full 'Attenborough/Theroux spec' with detail and automotive emotional attachment. There's plenty more BFs to come, rest assured.
Ah, 12:44 - that explains an awful lot. That distinguished and rather successful hotelier, Ivor Guest. Clearly had the means to afford an Espada, and then, abandon it!
I used to know of a large manor house that the owner, a very eccentric artist, had three Armstrong Siddlys in the garage and who gave up driving when he couldn't get some rare part for the last working one in the 80's. He was then driven about in a 60's air-cooled VW Pickup by his wife. The cars stayed in the garage until he died (about 6 years ago!) The family sold the house not long after. No idea what happened to the cars....
I remember 35+ years ago going past a posh house down a private road in Sussex and in the garage was a dust covered AC Cobra....on the drive was the daily drive a Gauntlet era Aston V8. I wasn't the least bit envious....
I was viewing a property in northern Italy a few years ago, and the estate agent told us there was a Lamborghini in the barn that the owner was going to leave behind. He opened the barn door and - yes, you've guessed it - it was a tractor.
One of my mates grew up in Italy, and learnt to drive in his grandad's Lamborgini...tractor. Which is still pretty cool, I only got to go in Massy Fergusons.
I love how those who've previously owned the car beam whilst they recall stories of owning it and driving it. Thats what classic cars do, transport you in more ways than one. Awesome
I worked for Roy Jackson Moore from 1980 to 1986 and he regularly used this Espada to travel from his home in Beaconsfield to Aylesbury. He had a business producing audio cassettes back then and it was a regular driver. He leased a warehouse next door to the business and a door was knocked through. Inside the empty warehouse a guy (Phil) worked on restoring his collection of Austin 10's (he loaned me and my wife two of his immaculately restored cars for our wedding). The Espada went away for a while getting overhauled and I remember starting and driving it while working the nightshift with nobody around, keys were left in it - I was too young to think about the consequences driving up and down the road at 3am ! Roy also owned a dark blue Lamborghini Jalpa but the keys were never left in that one! He also had a Fiat X19 and loved his little two seater Lancia Montecarlo
When he said the previous owner was Ivor Guest all that came to mind was. "Me, the 4th Viscount Wimbourne in a Lamborghini with Grace Jones, with my reputation?"...
Can you just imagine the excitement, in the future, of finding a 50 year old Tesla and getting it up and running? Nope. Me neither. The minute that V12 fired into life again... my heart skipped a few beats.
Could this possibly be the best episode ever? A splendid car and a splendid venue create the most delightful - and to some extend romantic - images. Well done Johnny. And you are humble enough to realise you are a very lucky man indeed. I am very jealous.
Last week it was Countryfile and History Walks with Tony Robinson. This week's opening Jonny proves he can do The Antiques Roadshow! Kudos Jonny! Legend! 😊
Tick, tick, effing tick. What a barn find. What this shows is Jonny is the dude to contact. From backyard home garage heros to super toffs. What's the common thread? Car guys. Also the amazing cinematography deserves a mention in dispatches. I'm speechless. Well Done!!
This was borderline perfection. I love the way true money has no airs or graces. When I was in the music biz in the back end of the '80's- early 90's there were some insane cars parked around my place in Beak Street Soho, our manager owned an F40, AN EFF FORTY!!!!!!. He regularly forgot where he'd parked it and would pay someone to walk around his usual haunts to find it, usually with an array of fines. Getting back to 'money' I met some wonderful people back then and I always found that the really properly beyond rich ones had nothing to prove, often drove an old mini or Land Rover but lived in a house just like this with a Camargue in the barn. They ALWAYS had a place in Scotland
Its a shame we cant find Guy Fawkes and revive him. 👍 What a great location and car, both are just beautiful. Thank you for taking us a long with you. 2x👍
The place, the history, the car, everything is of an incredible nostalgic quality. If I'm excited to hear that engine come alive, being there must have been quite an experience. Thank you for bringing us these gems of automotive history.
What a wonderful setting for a barn find episode. Actually, it's a pretty great setting for any event, truth be told. But yeah, nice to see the old girl running and 'driving'. Great episode, Jonny.
That was AMAZEBALLS! The filming, the passion, the reverence for the machine, the location, the machine itself..! And she only bloody drove around! Genuinely, can't stop grinning. Loved it!

What a great video Jonny! And what a beautiful pair of Lamborghini’s. The story behind this barn find is amazing and she thoroughly deserves a rebuild and to see the open road again. I have an idea she will. Thank you Jonny. 😉👍
Whilst traveling in Umbria Italy, I came across the Lamborgini Vineyard, on entering we were met by an old man in dungarees. He was very chatty and in Italian enquired about us and what we were doing and other things. He then called someone on his mobile phone to meet us at the end of the drive. We proceeded and was met by a very smartly dress man, who told us in English that the motor museum was closed, but Mr Lamborgini had told him to open up and show us around. As per your video, Federico was an person of kindness and gentleness to us. Thank you. Graham
The back story of this car is quite frankly amazing... the history, the feedback from previous owners is astonishing, and the celebrity and stateliness it was preserved, all the years since being driven on the road . But more than anything, this barn find has brought to the masses, what a 70's Lamborghini is all about. The smiles, adulation and raw passion from all you guys that turned the key and started this classic, to running this classic around that courtyard should bring raw emotion to all petrol heads and kids alike. The pain and anguish, jumping through hoops and setbacks then to the immense pleasure once completed. Loved cars all my life! You need space to even consider such an undertaking though!
I've only ever seen one Espada on the road - it was lime green and someone at the hotel (can't remember the name - it's a Raddision Blu now) at Golden Bay in Malta some time in the early 1970's. Utterly lovely - and it made a noise that really impressed me as a 12 year old!
Brilliant episode (again) Jonny, featuring possibly my favourite Lambo, the Espada (and one with a very colourful past). I haven't got crystal balls, but if you keep turning up Espadas I can see a 3-way crossover between you, Harry M and Iain Tyrrell (hint, hint ;))
Growing up, my neighbor had several Lamborghinis'. I rode in the Espada often as a 9 year old and the interior has always stuck in my mind! Super great memories those were!

It seemed impossibly glamorous to a car mad younger me.
What a gorgeous episode! The Espada is really one of the most beautiful cars ever designed. My memory immediately jumps back to my childhood favorites, this being one of them, together with DeTomaso Pantera and closer to home, from affordsbility point of view, the Matra Bagheera... Hi Jonny, thanks you so much for the piece on the Espada (number 1 & 2). I owned a dark blue series 1 from 1982 to 1988 (best dashboard of them all). Sold it to a friend and bought a 3 liter Urraco that I still have. The Espada was stored in a barn due to not having a proper garage to store it in for a few years. The sound of the Espada was incredible, but the Urraco is 1000 pounds lighter and handles so well. Keep up the great work, your videos are priceless.
OUTSTANDING! All this and Grace Jones too.... :) Imagine pulling into a servo and seeing Grace leaning on that car..... hahaha. (saw Grace live in the very early 80s in Sydney... fabulous!) There's a yellow one for sale in Perth WA (Australia)..... sadly Jonny I'll have to pass as it's an auto...... :) These 60s/70s supercars really are just so beautiful....... what happened? Sooo much fun. Thanks Jonny. :)
Brilliant episode and really makes you wonder what else is lurking in garages and barns around here! I've met Phil a few times - great bloke, but love the term "Espada pervert" 🤣
Listening to Julian talk about owning that car and the joy it brought him won’t make sense to so many people. Fortunately the people who watch this channel will appreciate just how joyful it was. I hope he buys the car back and uses it 🥰
Wow! And there is a letter from the builder. That is the party piece that goes with that car. Iain needs to look over the car too. The can of hope and driving around the manor has to be an all time feat. Thanks Jonny. The video and Bentley and your car and the drone shots are super.

These 60s/70s supercars really are just so beautiful....... what happened?
Sooo much fun. Thanks Jonny. :)
Brilliant episode and really makes you wonder what else is lurking in garages and barns around here! I've met Phil a few times - great bloke, but love the term "Espada pervert" 🤣
Unbelievable Jonny. Well done.
Really enjoyed revisiting old barn finds . What a gem this one was , super super 👌
What beautiful environs for this episode. I could happily end-up a barn find myself in a place like that.
This is a good one. You came prepared with all the reinforcements. The Espada is a beauty and sounds glorious
It is getting better and better, top class!
