Knowing the context make this scene 20 times more tragic. It’s already sad that rumple is beating a man who he believes to have killed the woman he loved, but in his mind this act of vigilante justice is the only way Rumple can make up for everything he did to Belle. Cause when he screams “this is your fault”, he’s really blaming himself and taking his anger out on Moe. An act which he’s also on a deeper level doing cause ever since he was abandoned by his father, he probably has nothing but contempt for parents who do the same thing, and probably believes Moe to be no better than Pan was. And the cherry on top of all this drama is that this act of vigilante justice which to rumple seems like a big deal was just a lie. Making any point Rumple tried to prove ultimately meaningless. Just an act of random violence from a mad rambling old man, full of sound and fury and signifying Nothing
Also what happened to his son. I definitely think part of his rage in this scene was him blaming himself for baelfire. If you pay attention to what he says I think it becomes more clear.
@@zigsteenine8650 I think he blames himself for Bea in 2x04 "crocodile" when he asks one question to Milah "how could you leave Bea?". He lost Belle and Bea, the only ones who really loved him.
This scene was the best scenes I have seen in all shows. The reality of it and the intensity of feeling outcast by all manners of the self... Robert Carltyn is my favorite actor of the show because Rumple has soo much emotional investment to his character. I cried at this scene because the pain of not accepting someone's love when you see yourself as this filthy thing... It's contradiction to the emotions man.
It's the "you had her love and you shut her out" that really fucking gets me everytime. It's both clearly jealousy and projection in such a BRUTAL way I just can't praise the writers enough for the way they not only wrote Rumple and all his scenes but especially poignant dialogue like this. SO much conveyed in a few words. The "it's your fault, not mine" is just so fucking painful because he harbors hatred for what he thinks Moe did but at the same time he blames himself because if he had never pushed Belle away it never would have happened-I bet a dark part of him also believes if he had never taken her to his estate in this first place it wouldn't have happened. And the "YOU ARE HER FATHER" is just.. I can't even find the words. Every character in this show struggles so much with family, with their parents and their children.. it's just brutal how much that conveys not only what he went through as a child but also what he put his own son through. The way he cries it you just know theres anger and hatred but also genuine sadness to see a father fail to love his child do right by them, to not be their soft place to fall when others hurt them (like Rumple hurt Belle) like most people would hope she went home and was happy with loving people. To find out that isnt what happened (as far as he knows) like hes pissed bc she deserved love and he probably wanted to find solace in knowing someone else could give her what he couldnt but that didnt happen. His feelings for fathers are layered and complicated and all of that comes out in one simple excruciating yelp and it FUCKS ME UP
Rumple is full of love but before Belle no one ever loved him back but his son. Not even his parents. (Well actually his mother did but he thought she abandoned him because she didn't care) Which makes him extremely emotionally unstable
The best scene ever!!!! Both actors performed it great. I just love Robert Carlyle’s performance. One of the reasons why I watched and rewatched this show. The most painful part of this scene, Mo doesn’t even remember his daughter. So he doesn’t know or understands what Rumple is talking about.

Don't forget Moe was stilled cursed and had no memory of Belle being his daughter or who she even is
I love the Macbeth ending
finally someone with common sense

He was carrying the whole Show. Better than any Hollywood actor .

Great commentary , I agree with you.
this is why Rumplestiltskin will forever be the most interesting character
It's been years seeing the show, this scene makes me cry
Rumple is full of love but before Belle no one ever loved him back but his son.
Not even his parents. (Well actually his mother did but he thought she abandoned him because she didn't care)
Which makes him extremely emotionally unstable
yeah and he was mental and emotionally unstable to love because of everyone treated him badly from his ex-wife, father and mother
he really loves her
And when she cried he kissed her tears
@@magdalenakowalska4299 When did this happen? I can't remember.
@@_Spy_ he would if she cried and say everything was ok and he loved her 😘
This scene right here was the confirmation to me that he remembers being rumple. Not that scene where he gets the cup back.
I think the scene with "Please." right at the end of episode 2 definitely set minds racing.
I had been under the impression he was ALWAYS Rumple.
He never forgot

thats just sad he cared so much for her that he even beat her father and his collections.
Yeah, but it's a good thing Emma arrived in time otherwise Gold/Rumple would actually ended up killing him if he'd kept on beating him like that.
😞😖😩😭
@@SuperBloodredmoon I agree
I once read a phrase .. they way to really hurt a man isn't to take away what he loves ... it's to take it away, then give it back, broken.
I never know that Mr,gold can be so bad but I understand that he is acting but it looks so real.
I thought the title was "he Lost his shit"
the music 😭
This was a little bit of real
How come is it that rumple looks cute in a young way? In the book and outside of it? 😍
Una de mis escenas favoritas, es que sientes muchas emociones en Rumple como la ira y el sentirse traicionado además de dolido.
please i need him so bad
😨
I put it on 1.75x speed and I've been cackling for the past 15 minutes
damn so many people thirsty over this scene 😭 whaaat
Begbie, is that you?^^

Mr gold Thing he is
Я вас не боюсь, хотя, мне бывает страшно. Румпель хотите, я полюблю вас. Но почему бо ятьс я ва горожане.
