    Probably the best comparison format I've seen so far. No going back and forth between individual displays or confusing split screen footage (looking at you digitaltrends). I like that you keep them both visible at all time while addressing your points

    Just exchanged an LG Nanocell for the Sony A80K. The display was nice on LG. But there software is horrible. Had to exchange two of them because of software issues. Thought it might be just an internet issue, but things that were happening was not internet related. Since it was my birthday I exchanged it for a Sony A80K. It is awesome. Display is wonderful. Software works great and fast. Proved it was not my internet and it was an LG software issue. Will not buy a LG tv again. Geek Squad even mentioned software issue with it. Go for Sony.

    I went to Best Buy to look at the G2. They had it away from the others, not even in the Magnolia room and they had dozens if Samsung TV boxes stacked in front if it so couldn't really see it. I went to the main LG wall and watched the C2. I found that the LG demo was mostly dark scenes which is not very good for in an in store with bright lighting. I think they should have displayed some sports events or something other than dark artistic videos. I was not able to watch any Live TV or handle the remote. Very disappointing. I ended up buying one online anyway from them having them do the install. I only hope BB doesn't screw me over. Oh and by the way awesome review. I have been watching a TCL 55" at 13' away. The 77 will be a nice treat for my old and tired eyes.

    On one hand, I love the C2 physical design (how that thin screen looks from the sides), the edges, etc., the four 2.1 hdmi inputs, input lag, the stand, and the fact that it is a bit brighter than the A80K.
    On the other hand, I realize that the A80K is a bit better when it comes to color tones, some say it shows a bit more detail (is that true?) and the sound system is appealing.

    29:03 Even though LG came really close this year, that clarity still draws me slightly more towards Sony
    But at same price G2 > A80K / A80J > C2 / C1

    I can see most people here saying that the A80K is better for movies and the C2 is better for gaming. Didn’t you all watch the video at all? Classy is clearly recommending getting the C2 over the A80K even if gaming is not a concern. So, basically the two best 77” Oled TV’s are the G2 & the C2 with the A80K coming in 3rd place. The only thing the A80K has over the LGs is its accuracy out of the box.

  • @michaelrivera145
    @michaelrivera145 Рік тому +1

    For this comparison, it is recommended to visit a store that has both models on display. After conducting this comparison, I personally selected the A80K 77. In terms of picture accuracy, the A80K outperformed the G2 significantly. However, it is worth noting that LG seems to be adopting a similar approach to Samsung by enhancing colors, which can be advantageous for marketing purposes but may result in less realistic color representation. Additionally, the sound quality of the Sony model was noticeably superior to that of the LG. These observations are based on my personal point of view.
    Furthermore, if you decide to opt for the Sony model, there is a cost advantage at BestBuy currently, with the price being approximately $1,000 less compared to the Sony model. However, please note that you would need to enroll as a Plus Account Holder, which requires a $45 yearly subscription. This additional savings could be utilized to invest in a high-quality soundbar to enhance your audio experience.
    Additionally, some users may find the Google TV operating system to be superior to LG's WebOS. The Google TV OS offers a more user-friendly and versatile experience with a wider range of apps and features.

    I'm a bit confused as why the A80K would be better than the C2 when C2 and G2 share almost everything... you said it yourself once you calibrate and wants an accurate picture the brightness difference is minimal... so why would it be different on the C2 then? Once calibrated would it be accurate to say that C2 = G2 in 97% of the case? More than A80K considering, software, gaming features on C2 is exactly the same as G2. EDIT: just finished the entire video and you ended up recommending the C2. Still a bit confused at your early comment in the video but at least your conclusion make sense in the end.

      It’s bright enough for sure, I’ve moved the tv to a brighter area with lots of natural light and it can still keep up. And that’s that I watch in ISF mode in warm 50 which has lower peak brightness. I game in game mode with HGIG and it’s still great.

Hoping the a90k has an option to disable the game dimming. The main reason I'm leaning towards the a90k 42 rather than the c2 42 is because I've been hearing for many years that sdr gaming on the Sony oleds is much more vibrant compared to the quite dull sdr game mode on the lg oleds. I have a Lg B1 65". I like the truemotion setup and the 10 gradient dejudder. I have deblur at 0 since I dont see how this is affecting picture quality at movies 23.976 fps. Now is fair to say that the new Lg is better because of the 10 gratient setup one can find easier a setting that suit ones preferance if I want motion to be stutter/micro stuttefree(or at least very tight in this reguard) with minimum of artifacts accepting a bit of soap opera effect. This is better with Lg. Sony is better when the soap opera effect is what one dislike the most thus accepting more stutter motion? Also sony has a better and has clean up more irregularities when it comes to non 4k contant where scaling has to be used(overall content handeling motion, artifacts). Here sony has a clear lead and has cleaned up a lot and thus producing the best picture and motion handeling? I am talking in general here between Lg and Sony. I am considering Sony A95K or wait to see Lgs next year models to see if there is even a better motionhandeling, artifacts, soap opera effect and more clean up in non 4k content(especially low resolution content). I also wonder if A95K will do the trick for me producing a stutterfree, less artifacts motion handeling. I have read that there still is better motion handeling and that sony is still the King (like difficult scenes like in blade runner 45 (from what Hifi review: but not even the new G2 can match the A95K’s combination of complete control over shimmer in tricky, unpredictable motion with a total lack of introduced unrealism.). I am very sensitive to stutter and aritfacts. I understand that Lg is very good at this. But maybe one can get this and also less unrealism/soap opera effect with the coming A95K? looking forward for Your excellent reviews and of A95K. I also read that A95K has done a lot of clean up in other resolution and low resolution content than prievious models so it is even better at this than A90J. I dont game!. But I really like the 10 point dejudder on Lg. And use desktop pc most of the time to watch content on my TV. Use JRiver when watching movies.

      For movies dejudder will fix the panning shots and the judder associated with it
      Deblur effects things like hand movements when there isn't panning motion.
      10 is too aggressive, it makes more mistakes than taking it down some.
      Try 8/8 or 7/7. Even 9/0 will be better than 10/0.
      10 dejudder is really only useful for anime, imo.

My other pc with Amd i7 2700x only needed 6. Very strange that a several years newer intel i5 12600kf alder lake needed more dejudder.
      Anyways. I sometime see head turn guickly or a hand movement stutter. So beblur will correct these types of stutter? I thought deblur only was for higher frames content like 60 hz reducing blurring in movement making the picture clear or just in general redusing unclearness in movement. so if dejudder at 7 it is recommended to have deblur also at 7. If it is like you describe that small stutter in hand or head movements will be corrected by deblur function, this would be even better result. 👍

      @@codyblackstone7779 the G2 has other bonuses like the build quality and warranty. I think it's a great over all package, especially if getting it calibrated. The A80K is a great deal still and better for those that want better accuracy without having to change a bunch of settings.

    Having the settings boxes on the screens is so distracting. So distracting. I don’t care. I want to know what setting each screen is set to to make them similar. And then comments. The review is really thorough d detailed . Too bad the menus distract so much.

    Trying to choose between the 77 C2 and A80K now. I do streaming, and have a huge library of everything from DVDs to Blu-rays to UHD Blu-rays while doing no gaming at all. Leaning towards the Sony for the upscaling, but is the extra $200 really worth it over the LG?

    This all confuses me. I have saw some reviews on youtube show clairty and detail about the same with the C2/G2 vs the sony a80j. Then other reviews clearly show way more detail on clarity and detail on the a80J/a80k over the new LG's. Like this scene with a loaf of bread, having way more clarity because the XR processing. Is it all in settings, do most scenes look about the same but a few just look better on one tv vs the other on clarity?

      If the source is built in apps, then the comparison is irrelevant. The source has to be identical through a splitter as streaming content changes it's quality every 2 seconds based on connection quality and server load.
      It also depends on what settings are being used, and how high someone has reality creation set. A higher reality creation setting can appear sharper or more detailed especially on a camera, but with a closer look can see all of the issues with too much processing as I showed in this video.
      With native 4k content there shouldn't be any added processing changing the image, and they should look the same. Though there is some processing on the Sony that cannot be fully disabled without using the graphics picture mode.

    I dont agree with you on the coating, you can see other comparisons on youtube and also in store, one big reason I am starting to lean now to the a80k is due to that finish. Its going in the basement but at times I leave some lights on, and there are tons of complaints on the lg reflective gloss screen compared to sony's with any lights on. Very noticeable in dark scenes with some lights on, the lg blacks look reflective and washed out in comparison. Thats huge imo.

    • @zachb4561
      @zachb4561 Рік тому

      That's a big reason I went with the Sony. I wanted an OLED for those perfect blacks, so higher brightness doesn't matter as much to me if the blacks aren't as deep even in lighter environments.

    • @asianpianoman

      that'd be hard to do (fairly) because you cant split out dv and hdr10 at the same time from the same source

    • @ClassyTechCalibrations
      @ClassyTechCalibrations  2 роки тому +1

      The S95B can't be made accurate in game mode. LG DV game mode is also very inaccurate, but can be calibrated with a configuration file update.
