HIGH MILEAGE WRX goes to the track!

- I finally get a chance to go out to the track and test all the modifications we have installed on the car! This event was called the Subaru Speed Expo and it took place at Gingerman Raceway. It was a laid back event, and a great chance to give my WRX a shakedown to see how the car felt with the new parts.

It had great handling to my aggressive alignment. -3.2 camber front and -2.7 rear. Felt planted during the high speed turns!

Hey Foster! Do you know of any track days near the council bluffs/des moines area for someone who has never even been on a track? Slowly building my car up and would love to track it at some point but have zero experience..
Raceway park of the midlands is the closest track to Des Moines and it’s a pretty safe track to learn on. Follow them on FB they have random open track days. If you want to take lessons or get your license look into High Rev driving school. They go to RPM a lot
I love this! Most people in south florida never track or autocross their sti or wrx, always just showup and park this is awesome! I got a 2020 wrx done autocross a couple times but want to take it to a track soon!
The track is fun because you can do some really high speed corners compared to autocross! These cars are very capable but learn from my mistakes and get some track pads before you go otherwise you have to let the brakes cool off every other lap 🙃
Awesome bro! I plan on doing some very similar mods to my 15' wrx for autocross and track days as well. Keep it up!

Are wrx reliable daily and possible track cars? I’ve always to own one but a lot of people saying nothing but headaches. People who have & had em.
They are nice reliable cars as long as you don’t try and ask too much of them. 350 ish is about the sweet spot before you start having issues
Did you ever mention how many miles it had?
Holy 44psi batman! My daily pressure doesn't go above 36f/35r psi (10% over door sticker). Not to mention the rougher ride on city streets/hwy. Better than any roller-coaster, even if you were in the Red Fit. Did you do any adjustments to the rebound/compression to the coilivers prior to going out on track?
Hey thanks for grabbing a couple cool shots of my Legacy @2:13! If you happen to have any other footage it's in, I'd love if you could send it to me. I had a broken lug key keep me from running the morning sessions, and sadly only got to run in the Time trial Baseline and Attack sessions before an oiling issue put me out of commission, so I ended up in barely any media from the event. Great video!

Looks like fun! I wanna get into Time Attack but up until recent I haven’t had a car that I felt comfortable putting on a track. Talked to a guy at a local meet he said I should try autocross first.
Yeah autocross is where I started to learn car control, the good part about starting that way is that it’s way cheaper on consumables and you don’t need to prep your car nearly as much to get started. You can basically just show up with a street car and have fun!

Yeah you can be in advanced even if you are not the fastest, main thing is you have to be good about getting out of other peoples way and watch your mirrors

When I discovered the Invidia R400 on my 17 WRX was too quiet, I found that a downpipe freed up the sound nicely 😉
That’s good news, I have a Grimmspeed J pipe just waiting to go on the car so I’m hoping it will turn things up a notch!

@@miltm2516 there’s no down pipe … FA20 uses j-pipe then your mid pipe then y pipe that’s the whole exhaust.

how many miles does it have?
It has 147k so it’s getting up there. My plan is to do some maintenance items soon like walnut blasting
I can’t wait to get this car for myself
You won’t regret it! They make a great daily driver but obviously they are fun to drive and have great handling
What are we considering high mileage here?
About 146k is what it’s got at the moment

Mine is same year but way further along. get a catted j-pipe intake and solid billet trans crossmember bushings. I got extra Cobb Big SF intake Id let go dirt cheap. With these trust me it’s loud enough for pulse racing satisfaction.
All those mods will be happening eventually! It is slowly becoming a really nice car 🤙
Remember the stock j-pipe has a cat and a mini muffler in it. That’s hugely killing sound

Also as a side note. Enkei is pronounced NK like the letters.
It has 146K so pretty high mileage for its age. Yeah my buddy told me I was pronouncing Enkei wrong, whoopsie! Haha
