A lot of my characters are inspired by my favourite cartoons and TV shows like Ben 10, Generator Rex, Avengers EMH, Transformers, SWAT Kats, Macross, TMNT, Knight Rider, The A-Team, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, etc. While my world as a whole is more geared towards my favourite movies and games like Pacific Rim, Real Steel, Top Gun, Star Wars, Titanfall, DOOM, Halo, Ratchet and Clank, Vanquish, Metal Gear, etc. My world is insane, if only i was good at writing
I know this too accept from what i noticed my story and universe feels a 99.99 percent original aside from the powers names and inspirations even though it not a hundred percent original it still practically original to me

As a writer myself, I agree with you. Your characters will always be similar to others that came before him/her. It's all about which path your characters will take that makes them different from other similar characters in the past has taken.

My character is based on the flash,spider-man,and kinda wolverine (just his healing factor tho) I once used my character in a Roblox game and someone told me (once I based something on the flash and wolverine) “if you’re character is based on the flash,you can’t use Wolverine’s healing factor” and I was so annoyed. Like,it’s my character not yours. (Also if you’re wondering the character’s name is strike)

My characters so far: Mosian (Hero) He can be faster than Light, Can eat Universes, Can always Distract people in the best ways, Can bend light, Physics, etc. Makes up new elements just to defeat new villains and old villains. Landocos (Villain) Can chain people in his hell, Snap People in half and make Landions, (Landocos's Hell Minions) Create and destroy existances, Brainwash Even the strongest things ever, And make everything fight eachother For however he wants them to. Quesumo (Villain Sidekick) Can bend black holes and Make Lazer rain. Acid rain, etc. Can make Universe Quakes, Can make Clones with minimum of 100,000 power, and a maximum of 100,000,000,000,000,000. Misaeon (Hero sidekick or Mosian's brother) Mosian Gave him his powers. Please reply and comment ideas.
I made a character named hawk he’s a 40 year old virgin with a bright purple Mohawk who playes guitar in a band with different ages. But now I’m getting stressed. My characters name is hawk (cuz yknow, moHAWK) and well a couple of months after creating the character I remembered about that character from kobra kai who is also named hawk and has a Mohawk (i watched the show way before I created my own character). I am now currently stressing cuz I really like it the name of the oc and it suits him well and that I didn’t copy it and I just thought the name suits my oc… will I have to change the name :(
Omg I did something similar to this with one of my characters (mine had the same name & color designs of an already existing character, though I didn't even know of the character's existence & it was completely coincidental, but the similarities annoyed me cause people will probably think I copied, lol. So I just chabged my char's name.
