    You don’t get excited about much, but this Omni seems to have gotten your attention! I’ve been looking at this one for a few weeks now, and you gave me some great information to consider. Thanks, Dave. Have a great New Year! God bless

    I ordered one last night. I have a very specific use for it that I think I will get my money back in about six months. They have all kinds of discounts that you can get so it doesn't cost you $4,500.00 in the end. Look at it this way, the first time I wanted to buy a laser was about thirty years ago. The laser I was looking at was $15,000.00. I now own a 50 watt fiber laser, and a 55 watt CO2 laser with a 700mmx500mm working area, and a 10 watt diode laser. Now that I am adding the UV laser, I am still more than $3,000.00 short of what I was going to spend on a laser 30 years ago. A tool is worth what it will make you or the time it will save you. I tell everyone that is how I spend my cigarette money every year. (Lasers are cheaper, and you have something to show for it at the end of the year)

    Clack, interesting news. I don't like the orange paddle any more than you do. So I got to talking with Nancy at ComMarker in Hong Kong and mentioned that while I prefer their product, the competition has a red framing laser that is making it hard for me to choose between brands. No problem! For $200 more you can get the ComMarker with the auxiliary red frame. So, there you go. Now if only another $200 would up the work area to 400mm X 400mm, I'd be dancing on my workbench. Anyway, you might contact them and see if you could do an upgrade. Now all I need is an extra $4K to spend.

    I have had one of these machines since the early bird specials were out and to me the biggest advantage is leather engraving and cutting, glass etching and deep wood engraving. Clean leather cuts, beautiful glass engraving (without prep) and deep wood engraving that rivals a CNC machine without burning. Try glass and wood engraving and let us know what you think. Oh and one more thing to get dark wood burning try defocus by about 10 mm high.

    You may not be cutting bag panels with this, but for those of us making leather pocket items, wallets, passport covers, notepad covers, this could be a game changer. Not to mention your leather scrap projects, patches, keychains, earrings. I’m not dropping a few thousand tomorrow, but definitely worth some research.

    @theclackshack The reason you cant see that red line is because this is is a UV laser. It's very difficult to see a UV beam with the naked eye. This is not the company's fault. It may be a galvo laser but it's not a typical fiber laser.

    • @TheClackShack

    What type of laser/wavelength is needed to do those deep engraves on stone or metal, that everyone seems to do with F1 Ultra? I have to imagine you cam get a better size and price range getting a standalone laser of fiber? tyle or whatever compared to the lrive xtool wants for the Ultra.

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  28 днів тому

      It takes a fiber. The one advantage the ultra has is that the software automatically drops the z height.

    I currently have a 30W Fiber. As much as I would like to say yes, I would need to know how it would mark on Kydex (specifically tan). It would definitely help on glass and leather better than trying to do work arounds on my fiber.

    Omni is no different than Atomstack M4 except for slightly more power 5W instead of 2W, and the wavelength(uv instead of nir). It is a DPSS laser and not a real fiber laser, it degrades fast(due to Qswitch wearing out) with sustained usage at higher ouput levels and has 10X less lifetime than real fiber lasers.
    There is a fat conduit, deceptively looking as if fiber is routed, but is a simple electrical cable connecting to the galvo head🤯. The big box next to the galvo head encloses the DPSS laser/driver with air cooling. The galvo head is controlled by the controller card, that is fiber capable(but used to drive the dpss instead). You can find all this from the owners manual, and also have sneak peak inside the base from one of the influencers getting a mulfunctioning unit. There is a reason why the actual specs. on the unit is conveniently left out. Except for engraving on Glass, Fabric not good for metal and other solid materials. Definitely not for cutting. It is a matter of time they will come down in price(atleast by 3X), since there is a lot of markup due to absence of an OEM 1064nm fiber module either from Raycus or JPT. Just trying to help customers making the right decision and save some money and heartache.The resolution is good for aesthetic engraving.❤👍

    • @TheClackShack
      @TheClackShack  25 днів тому +1

      The M4 is a 1064 NM or IR laser, the Omni is a UV 355 NM laser. The wavelength effects how it interacts with materials. It does also have a fiber line from the source, not sure which machine you were thinking of.
