  • In this video I talk all about my iron infusion experience. I talk about why I got this done and how I felt afterwards. My Hgb (hemoglobin) levels have been ranging between 7.2 - 9.6 over the last year. I was severely anemic and almost needed blood transfusions twice in a span of one year. If you have any questions feel free to leave them down below.

Hey, I just watched your video I def feel a lil more relaxed about getting this type of procedure done. From how you describe it it just seems very chill laid back which im happy about. Im so glad you were basically able to tell your engery level went straight up afterwards. God knows I really do need a huge burst of engery right now cuz having sickle cell disease really does take all of my engery away, it just sucks all the life out of me😫 Im excited now since you got it done and had such a great experience with it😍

I had the same thing happen. The only thing to help me was getting an IUD!! Girl I was going through super tampons every hour!! I received bags of blood to try and replace what I was bleeding out. I had the IUD placed and that same day my blood loss was dropped to barely a pad a day. Keep in mind, renal safe diets often encourage limiting most leafy greens because of their high potassium and calcium content. Eating red meat would be better for iron absorption in your situation. I especially wouldn't recommend eating spinach if you have kidney failure. However, you should speak with your dietician about what you can and cannot eat.

Hi! I started with Anemia after I had my twins, they are 26 now. I was able to maintain it over the years with diet and vitamins. In 2014 I had gastric sleeve surgery which caused me to start with the anemia all over again. I again started with diet and vitamins. I had heavy periods, fibroids & endometriosis, I had a hysterectomy in 2016. Now I am beyond vitamins & diet, I am starting IV this coming week & at the end of September I am having surgery to correct my sleeve. Thank you for being so informative.

The only difference I found with iron infusions and blood transfusions is that with iron infusions it took several days before I started feeling better. With the blood transfusions, because it's a liquid organ, I felt better within a day.

It stayed in the low 7’s for over a year before I was referred to a hematologist that ordered the iron infusions. Hgb was never that low but as a nurse a couple bags of blood would be appropriate for a blood transfusion and of course getting to the source of the blood loss.

It doesn’t work for everyone- I can agree with that. Have you ever heard of sea moss? Sea Moss is what corrected my anemia in just 3 weeks. I have a few videos on my channel about it.

@@Ela-eh3hm sorry for the late response. I had two infusions, my 1st one I broke out in a bad rash the night after, took some benadryl and it went away. My second went fine. My Hemoglobin has gone up from a 9 to a 14.2, so they worked 👍🤗 .. how did yours go??

I’m interested in trying the iron IV. I have hypothyroidism with anemia since 2014. Low energy has become lifestyle unfortunately. I’ve tried Iron supplements as well as herbal. The herbal supplements & Chinese natural root herbs did helped some.

I struggle when I have to work. I pack as many tampons and pads as I can for the day and try to make sure I’m hydrated. The last time I worked during my period 2 weeks ago I ended up hemorrhaging and having to go to the ER after my shift.
