I’ve been theorizing since Rebirth that I think the empty/clear materia will be used to separate Sephiroth from Cloud’s memories. Sephiroth is attached to Cloud, and will keep coming back unless Cloud is killed - but that won’t happen. So the clear/empty materia is their way to kill Sephiroth for good this time, while not having to sacrifice Cloud.
That’s a great idea.
There is confirmation from Ultimania that the devs plan on the clear materia to have some significance in Part 3.
I feel him having it is what gives him the ability to see Aerith while others don't. but who knows
Good theory n first time ive seen someone say that too it also kinda makes sense.. i personally think its gunna be about cloud and memories of him defeating different sephiroths from different timelines n we will probably see or hopefully get to play some advent children and fusion sword stuff because of it too

When they showed the locations of the Whale type WEAPONS, Reactor 0 from DoC was highlighted. I'm sure the crew will get separated during the Midgar Raid and Yuffie and Vincent will encounter Deepground. If they want to close the loop on all of FFVII, I expect Shelke the Colorless to show up and become an ally in some ways.
With the white materia from what I understand. The white materia in the rebirth universe was drained by the whispers. In Zack’s parallel it looks like the gang failed at shinra HQ and the materia was left intact. However in Zack’s parallel the planet had also not been able to hang on as long and died. Aerith seems to have some ability to transfer her consciousness but not her body between universes, somehow cloud can maybe it’s his connection to Sephiroth? . So she gave him the ‘complete’ white materia from Zack’s dying world where it was no use anyway and pushed him back in the rebirth universe so they now have a chance to counter meteor.
Wonder if the Sephiroth in the
Edge of Creation is going to have a change of heart and help defeat the other Sephiroth that’s trying to change the future.
The yuffie and Vincent fight against nero would be incredible dude what a great shout, I’m predicting a lot of dlc for part 3 and the fact they say it leads to AC makes me curious corduroy
I also think they will keep it mostly within the OG for part 3, but with some cameos. I don't think we will get entire playable sections from the compilation unfortunately. At least not in the base game. But dlcs from the compilation, for sure. Advent children could be a dlc. So could before crisis. And first soldier. And so on. But somehow I doubt that they will actually let us play first soldier with young sephiroth, angeal and genesis in the base game.
Possible playable characters, based on that hypothesis: maybe they will actually give us cissnei, as a normal party member. Turks, maybe not, that would be more like a dlc story like before crisis. It would be really cool to play as the Turks though.
Dio could maybe also be a party member, but I think cissnei is more likely. Kyrie is being depicted as too weak, she doesn't even have a weapon.
I can't really think of any more characters that wouldn't introduce entirely new playable sections from the compilation, which I don't think they will give us in the base game.
Maybe Zack and Aerith will get some playable sections together? Like on the other side? They are together in advent children at the end, so that would fit the canon.
I guess now that I think about it, that Jesse, Biggs and wedge could maybe be playable as well. But again, I think cissnei is the most likely. Maybe Biggs also in zack /aerith timeline. If not aerith finds herself in her own separate world, not in zacks world.
Keep in mind cloud gets the umbral sword in rebirth which is purple and very dark knight like. In the OG you get an optional weapon called the “heaven’s cloud” I think that he will get that shortly after his “paladin” arc is complete post lifestream

I really enjoy having discussions about FF7 remake part 3 and what we could expect from game play, exploration, combat, character growth, and most importantly the story, and what we could expect and or happen in part 3.
Angel would be an amazing mix of ReadXIII and Barrett. Starts fighting with fists using Barrett's protection and lifesaving abilities call it Protecter Mode that builds attack damage as he takes damage then switch it to Combat Mode and he will start to use his Buster Sword with abilities that get more powerful based on the damage he takes in Protector Mode
I want to see Leslie find his fiancee and maybe find out if he has a connection to Sephiroth or part of the black robes. Not many you men have silver hair. . .
The Cosmo Canyon section clearly states that materia takes on various forms and shapes, specifically in the scenes at the observatory. Moreover, Bugenhagen mentions that they contain the memory of civilization, which can be interpreted as the reality of that civilization. Therefore, the logical conclusion is that the empty materia you show in the icon is a stone devoid of the memories. Empty materia for next Civilisation memories?
Cloud received that materia from Aerith, who was in a different reality. This scene strongly reminds me of the scene with Aerith’s spirit from 1997. Then Sephiroth, who knows how to travel between worlds, enters. In Final Fantasy, there is a theme of duality, and since in Rebirth Cloud has White Materia from another world, two can’t exist simultaneously. Therefore, one memory overrides the other; the memory of the White Materia from the original 1997 becomes empty for the new memory.
Since Rocket Town is not going to be accessible until Part 3, I wonder if we're going to get Cid's back story when we get there or if they'll make Shera an engineer on the Highwind and ease into it that way. She was an engineer on the rocket, so it wouldn't be impossible.
Im actually hoping for advent children.
Having us playthrough and beat that entire portion, and then letting us keep the outfits and new weapons like the gun arm and the fusion sword, for a newgame+ would be cool.
I have a feeling too that they will provide us with lots of great stuff if they go the AC route.

AND i also have a theory that they could give reno & rude the zack-treatment from rebirth by making them both playable with fully fleshed-out kits for their respective battles with yazu and loz, before combining into a 2v2 battle.
It would give fans and players a nice shocking surprise.
Weve all (mostly) seen AC so not much would be surprising about it. But by adding those things that make us players go "WHAT?! NO WAY!!" is what made rebirth so good (example: playable sephiroth and playable zack)
11:43 I definitely see them sending Cisnei back to Midgar to help with the evacuation efforts. The Turks, Yuffie, and Vincent apparently were the ones who were escorting Midgar citizens to safely shelters when meteor was about to fall, so it wouldn't shock me if Cisnei returns to Midgar simply to help the evacuation effort.
White whispers start to show up in Rebirth. We also know that by that time, Aerith's materia is completely drained. In Rebirth, Aerith can control the white whispers.
I can't see them focusing on Sephiroth's past very much in Part 3. Based on where Rebirth ends and everything they need to cover, there just isn't room for it. Especially if Zack has another arc in Part 3.
It's for this reason that I don't see them doing much with Advent Children in the game, either.
If they really do go full open world, due to the airship, they're definitely going to have a lot of side-quests to justify revisiting previous areas. Which means that just the MQ and side content would make this game much larger than ever Rebirth was.
I would really like to see Sephiroth appear in Wutai since Sephiroth is responsible for starting the war between Wutai and Shinra.
We need Rosso the Crimson. They could get Allegra Clark to voice her.

Don't forget about Scarlett trying to gas Tifa to death. The only justified combo to fight Scarlet is Tifa, Yuffie and Barret. While the best combo for taking down the professor is Red, Cloud and Vincent. Technically, Aerith should replace Cloud, but she's dead (probably). IMO, the party with the most to gain from taking down Rufus is Cloud, Cait and Cid, which basically gives everyone a moment to shine in a final battle with Shinra.
Genesis should be played as a red mage class combat system setup like tifa fast and agile with self buffs to build up power and release it like yuffie does with banishment the red mage is my favorite ff class Genesis is weird but this setup would make people forget that if done right personally id pair his abilities use a basic ability get to use the next ability in the set no atb cost. Lets say he has a self buff then a hit but discharges the red magic then like focus strike for tifa he can evade and lunge but if its a perfect dodge he will power up before the lunge when he hits the ground from the dodge giving you another free ability to discharge the red magic into the enemy you could even play his degradation into it so that while he is charged up he loses HP gradually make him really OP and give him a Rapier that's makes his weapon ability damage have HPabsorb
Not only do you need Yuffie to fight Scarlet, but Vincent needs to be there to fight Hojo.

I'm seeing a lot of potential parallels between Cloud and Cecil from IV. Cloud could be a dark knight kind of character until everything goes down, and after he's put back together in the lifestream, that fills the white materia and he becomes his own type of Paladin.
I hope we go to Wutai after Cloud gets his mind restored.
I can totally see Zangan appear in Wutaï. I mean, dude probably learned his martial arts there and I believe we'll have more than one settlement on Wutaï's continent this time around so he could be waiting in a reclusive mountain village/temple or something.
A fight against him could give Tifa her ultimate Limit break or maybe he could fight her then tell her "you'll be a master only if you beat my best student now". Afterwards, she'd climb the mountain and meet Rude for a one on one fight.😅
I've been thinking about that while playing Rebirth and I'm pretty sure we'll learn Rude was Tifa's senpai under Zangan's tutelage six years ago, but she doesn't recognize him 'cause he left right after she joined the dojo and he had lots of hair back then. 😄
That would give some context to his crush on her at least.

I'm getting the feeling the Glenn/Sephiroth might covertly bring Rufus's involvement with Wutai and Avalanche to Scarlet, Heidegger, and Palmer's attention before the crater. This would force Rufus to maintain order while Sephiroth is working Cloud.
I'd also love to see the exiled Turks from BC. Scarlet who hates them, might kill a few of them. Cissnei being on this list for helping the girls in Rebirth. I could write a full essay on just how far they could push the Tifa-Scarlet arch-nemesis relationship. There is a way that Scarlet could hurt Tifa as a woman the way Sephiroth hurt Cloud as a man. Sephiroth tormented Cloud with the past, but Scarlet could taunt Tifa about the future with an allusion to the fate of the children of Soldiers.
Rufus sparing Yuffie in Junon when the party is captured might be a bartering chip for peace with Wutai. Maybe instead of fighting Sonon, Yuffie is allowed to put him out of his misery in an act of cooperation with Shinra, as well as a means for Scarlet to torment her.
Marlene could become Shinra's poster child instead of Stamp. A save the children of the future propaganda ad, and a means for Shirna to remind Avalanche that they better cooperate and not interfere.
Who's to say that Shinra didn't do something with Dyne's body. Maybe Barret fights a cyborg made from his parts. Then the people of Corel could see just how much Garret is actually on their side.
I truly am not sure whether or not Zack will be fully in Beagle world or still within the dream worlds in the Lifestream, but I'm confident what ever they do will be good!
I don't think Genesis is meant to leave his underground water bubble lol, but if the Planet gets itself in order when Cloud does, then we might get an implication that Genesis controls the whisperers that would then push the party forward. Furthermore, the whisperers could keep Deepground from coming up during Midgar Raid or to deal with Sephiroth once the barrier is down. But the Restrictors might not have faith in the current leadership of the company by that point.
It'd be nice if Piko has been sneaking off with a black chocobo mate. Maybe Palmer stays in the story longer and him and Cid have an airplane battle. Palmer could crash too close to the nest, and the parents could be very angry. Maybe they decide to carry the egg back to the farm. And when it hatches before Under the Highwind, Piko could be wearing Palmer's blood stained bowtie lol
I feel like there will be a strong theme of hope...what can the good people of the world do at the last minute when they come together? When Cloud comes out of his lifestream journey, the team all have this uplifting moment, "aint no stopping this train we're on" (or something like that). I'm imagining a lot of allies from the previous two games coming together and a kind of lifestream awakening that comes out of that...like all of the team's friends and allies and all of their strong willpower to save the world somehow affects the lifestream or the whispers somehow, and that's how we'll see the lifestream after the end battle. I imagine this epic ending where you have these bits of Zack and Aerith fighting in their way, Cloud and the party, 'regular' people on the ground, good guys within Shinra etc all working together.... and then at the end, the moment of hopelessness where they think they have lost with Holy.... it's gonna be huge... I expect a big emotional pay off too...all the people that died along the way will be remembered somehow.
@@Ploddypop11 yeah, i see what you mean. Also 'Maiden Who Travels the Planet' shows the lifestream action, just like "On The Way to a Smile' shows stuff like the euphoria that Reno and Rude felt during the ending! We might see a version of all this stuff happening at the end!
First, Sephiroth she finally meet Lucrecia. Hojo even talked about Ilfana cells; I wonder if something will be done with those. Obviously we will see Jenova, but I believe she should be the final boss. Because as long as a piece of her remains, this can never truely end, and I know they want to finish the whole story.
Having in mind that the lifestream has everybody's memories AND WISHES, and knowing that the final objective isn't just stopping the meteor anymore, it would be a really big dissappointment for me that Cloud would not use the empty materia to get his wish of taking Aerith and Zack back to life. If the empty materia is used for something "not really extraordinary" or just something to stop Sephirot again it would be a real bummer for me. Because you are just reusing a white materia (wich purpose is stoppping Sefinrot basically) to have another materia to stop Sefirot but in another way. It would be super dissappointing for me. So the only thing that would be different from the original game would be just that, to have a REAL happy ending (something that the developers had already talk about btw).
People that expect something different than original will not...
The only changes will be how it happens but the ending its that aerith and zack are not "alive" they in the lifestream.
This materia thing its just foreshadowing that event that will occur maybe 5 hours of into the third game? Somewhere around there

So Chadley I think will have a dark ending. Mostly because Hojo still have his hooks in him, or in other versions of him. As well as some lines in remake where Charley questions if him being (I think he used the word Cyborg, maybe it was Android) and he asks if he would return to the life stream when he dies given that he is not from it (like the Gi).
Also I am curious as to if Leslie (the former Corneo enforcer) will ever find his girl.
While I get what you're thinking with Vincent going with Yuffie to shinra HQ to deal with Deep Ground.....I think it's absolutely imperative Vincent be with the group that fights HoJo. It's too much potential character payoff for Vincent. Nonetheless I think we can expect a split party scenario for the Midgar raid and honestly there're numerous ways they can split the party and it makes sense from a character perspective.
In the original, I always fought Hojo with Red and Vincent. They both get their payback

Only part way through. You are talking Vincent and Yuffie going to Shinra HQ. I agree that those two make sense especially with DoC and their relationship in that. I think Vincent would go looking for Hojo and would find Weiss (Hojo) and Yuffie battles Nero. This makes perfect sense for a chapter in Remake3.
Memory seems to be a big nomura theme. Sephiroth says. "I will never be a memory." which is what the life stream and the white materia and white rainbows world which was created when cloud attempted to save aerith and created a timeline with aeirth being saved ... in which the God sephiroth saying the convergence of worlds happening. Which points to aerith and zack converging at the final timeline.. 🎉woohoo , explains advent children aerith and zack.
I think ShinRa middle manager is going to play a role in Midgar when we infiltrate a second time.

The only character from CC I didn't hear much mention was Minerva... I'm wondering if they are going to expand her role?
The player Turks from Before Crisis are interesting as Gun is Elena's older sister. Katana is from Gongaga and could possibly be related to Zack. You should watch the Before Crisis playthrough on here as it allows you to vicariously experience the game until Ever Crisis gives us its abridged version. Also there was a multiplayer Dirge of Cerebus game which includes 3 other Tsviets, Argento the Silver, Pummel, and Usher. Another character I didn't hear about was Evan, the main character Leslie, Kyrie, and her grandmother share a story with in the Kids Are Alright.
As far as Angeal and Genesis, they are addressing that in EC which I agree with you, we should get some of that in part 3 which I think we will since it is over 3 years away at the very least. We see Young Angeal in the trailer for the next part of First Soldier which we will get in September, if Angeal is present we will most definitely see a young Genesis too. They are the trio, the family Sephiroth never had. They did a lot of growing up together and missions together and seeing all of that would be stellar. Of course when it comes to the P0 soldiers, which we know there were many, it comes to focus on Glenn, Matt, and Lucia... of course many will disagree with me, but I believe Glenn will turn out to be Cloud's father. I think we will see that in Ever Crisis at some point. Like it or not, it's much cheaper to make content for Ever Crisis and it is a good way to test the waters and put out content and fill in plot holes, gaps, and expand on lore.
DLC would be nice between now and part 3, but I know they want to get part 3 done. With the cancelling of so many games, if they had freed up teams it would be nice to see a DLC every year even if they are short. An Episode, Vincent, Cid, and Zack would be really cool. With so much material that could potentially be in part 3 I definitely see them doing DLC after part 3 if we don't get any between now and the release of part 3. If they include everyone from the compilation, I could actually see them doing a sequel to the trilogy as an encore, to resolve every loose end if that is their intention.
Personally, I don't think we will see it until 2028 and my biggest wish is not for what's in the game... but that every fan that is alive at the time of this posting, be alive and well to enjoy and comment whether we agree or disagree with how it should be done. I know a couple of people from when Remake project started who are no longer around who would have loved to see all of this. Cuordory, I hope you feel a little better about Nall, you sounded like you had a very heavy heart.

So much to say, where to begin…
I’m pretty sure this is an actual hot-take…but with hindsight, I actually like the videogame cadence that SE had when it came to drip-feeding us FF7 content over the waiting period from Remake to Rebirth. I think it’s something that they could do again, if done correctly. So what exactly, would/could that entail?
You will recall, a little over a year after FF7 Remake came out, they released FF7 Remake Intergrade, the PS5 “definitive” version of the game, offering 60 FPS and a story expansion introducing Yuffie and a “superboss” in the form of Weiss.
Imagine if Rebirth actually wins GOTY, and at The Game Awards, they’re called up to receive the award and say they have something they’d like to share. It is a PS5-Pro version of Rebirth, offering even higher fidelity, fluidity and frame rates, along with a new story expansion.
You will also recall, Crisis Core: Reunion dropped Winter 2022. Another year and a half from when Intergrade came out. Well, rather than bloat Part 3 with excessive Young Sephiroth exposition, or character development for characters like Glenn, Matt and Lucia. What if…instead, you made a smaller-scale, streamlined, spin-off game, that covered all of that? You could make it a fraction of Rebirth’s scale, and innovate on the margins with the combat system Rebirth has established by having more playable characters with new movesets and capabilities in TFS characters. I think marketing this as “Sephiroth’s origin story” would sell hot cakes, and get everyone caught up on all of TFS’s context prior to Part 3, without forcing them to download and play through Ever Crisis.
Enter Part 3, where I think…you’ve helped mitigate burying your lead, in all that that game is *already* going to need to payoff, because you’ve given us a meaty DLC-expansion here, and a spin-off title there to better contextualize some of the content we have to look forward to in Part 3.
I'm not saying that I wish for Aerith to be brought back for Part 3 (although, I heard on another video that the devs do have a plan for her in Part 3). However, given the fact that Zack has been saved at the end of Rebirth, I am inclined to believe that both Zack and Aerith are going to have some significant importance in Part 3. My main reason for this (although I would not call it proof) is why would Zack be brought into Part 3 only for him not to have a reunion with Aerith until after he dies? If anything, maybe we'll have a bittersweet ending. Aerith is brought back for one final battle. However, she informs Zack that they were never intended to survive. Only to linger on just long enough to defeat Sephiroth. But, before they pass, she's giving the both of them one final goodbye with each individual in the group so that they all have a chance to say their goodbyes.
We NEED more Nero. Lots and lots of Nero. Genesis and Angeal as well. But definitely Nero
Chadley is gonna betray us opening part 3 and he will show up throughout attacking cloud with Summon Materia. We will likely find more natural summons around Wutai for sure, and thats when we finally begin turning the tides instead of the group running from Chadley, thry can begin to make Chadley have to retreat.
I honestly think Genesis and Angeal are really bad characters in Crisis Core. I hope they somewhat change their personalities if they have to appear in part III. Of course I hope they do not appear at all. Considerig Cissnei is already in Rebirth makes me think it will happen however in some way.
Personally it wouldnt hurt my feelings if cloud gets whacked. Would provide a bitter sweet ending.
