The real pathetic thing about this.. is this is what people strive to do and be.. does anyone even enjoy just being in the moment without desperately seeking validation? I haven’t had any social media for 6 months.. I’ve never had more peace 🧘🏽♂️🥰🤗
That’s a weird thing with social media. It provides so much good, but it also kind of encouraged a “market yourself” mentality, being fueled by larger companies who use these folks to sell products or sell an idea. It’s kind of scary.
People seem to want this if their childhood was messed up.
These influencers are over here buying 20 expensive bags, and I'm over here refusing to get a replacement for my 13 year old jacket because it's got tape on the pockets so it's good.
Same, been Putting off buying replacement 5 dollar sneakers even when I have holes in both and my toes pop out, cuz they aren't THAT had yet 🤣
Yup! Just finished a call with my sis in law. Reminded her how grateful I was she bought me a 5.00 thrift store winter jacket a few years ago. (I have decent jackets, always on sale), but travelled and it snowed .. so that helped.
Still have the jacket, extra warm, lots of pockets, all it needed was a toggle for the zipper. I used a small red bulldog clip and it’s a beaut!
All that money and they still can't afford a worthy personality.

My broke a$$ struggling to choose between buying a pair of $5 pants or a $5 T-shirt because my clothes are falling apart at the seams, and Walmart got the AUDACITY to sell pajama sets as two separate pieces
I tell you what, whoever thought of charging to use that fake "private jet" set is a friggin genius. SOOO many people use that set in so many photos, it's insane!!!!
When I was a child, we were far from being “rich”, BUT my parents taught us that “It’s not polite to brag. Bragging is just ugly.” So, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that all of the “ugly” people in this video never got that memo. 😏 LOL!!! One of the sad things about these people is that their morals and values are so skewed, they actually believe that we buy all of their fake crap.🙄🙄
One of my friends is a dentist, we met when I used to be her nurse in a different dental practice before she opened her own. When I was 21 (way back when) she bought herself a Ferrari for a year while she waited for a custom Jaguar XKR to made for her. The looks I used to get when she would drop me off at the bus stop in the Ferrari on the days she couldn't take me home from work still make me laugh when I think back to people's faces as I joined them under the bus shelter 😂
When she got to married she really struggled to have children, Drs told her it was likely she worked so much and her stress levels were through the roof being financially responsible for almost her entire family, from mortgages to all her nieces and nephews private school fees etc. To this day I don't think I've ever met anyone who worked as hard as she did. She would even open her surgery for patients on Christmas day if they were in pain or leave a restaurant where we were eating, or the cinema to see a patient even if it was 11pm at night. In the end she gave up dentistry, moved out to Spain and a few years later she had been blessed with two beautiful sons. She's never neen so happy and I love her new life for her and her little family ❤
There is truth in that money can't always bring you happiness (although it can obviously, sometimes make life easier to enjoy) Have a great day everybody....
The only sensible comment in this entire thread. People are so busy hating on the rich, they forget to build a successful life for themselves.
I love people like this, who work for their money, rather than depending on 'old money' or parents inheritance. Also the bonus is that she still cares for those who are important in her life.
Rather than flexing her money to the extent she looks down on people, or even pushing family out if they ruin their now 'rich reputation'.
I think people that think of Rich people they see the self-centred, uncaring, itchy people who forget money can't grant true happiness that your friend got from the fortunate and wonderful beings that she was able birth too, again- I adore and love your friend hasn't allowed her well off life change her loving personality because its very easy to fall into the depths of money.

@@moonhunter9993 Yep, 2 min google search turns up loads of these photoshoot sets. Most of them aren't even real jets, they are literally just plywood sets dressed to look like the inside of a jet.
I know an influencer that used it for a video but she did reveal that it was a set at the end. At least some keep it real

Im not even sure thats what was happening in this photo. She didnt show any text from these photos so i think she was making up funny background context for each one. I could be wrong though. But part of why i think this is because if these photos are from Insta they wouldnt have long explanations. There would be a few words titling them at most.

A few seem tongue in cheek or harmless. I've taken pics with rental sports cars because the experience is fun to remember. I doubt that type of thing offends others.
It's the throw-away attitudes that bother me. It's difficult to watch without a subconscious prick of morality, knowing how many would benefit from money spent on excess and wastefulness.
Anyone with much life experience knows wealth isn't the answer to everything, nor a guarantee of a happy life.
In the broader picture, there's also a negative cultural influence that the nouveau riche stereotype is creating.
The "ordinary people" version of that when I was a kid (VERY long ago) was buying your toddler a Scalextric. And then playing with it yourself.

What I've always wondered is why aren't we shaming the heck out of these people whose carbon footprint must be the size of a whole state? I mean they have the means to make sustainable choices. Yet they're living in mansions, using private jets, and buying unnecessary crap more than any regular person would in their lifetime.
Most of these pictures are a great reminder that money DOES NOT buy taste or class! And after this I'm not even mad I'm poor :D

There was actually this sketchy company that promoted itself through many influencers, including Kendall Jenner, by paying them to pose with all these shopping bags. I can't remember what it was all about but if you look for it, you should be able to find a video/article about this.

I can confirm that people do this, even with food. I used to work in a “posh” sandwich shop and people would legit buy a small granola bar and ask for a big bag, just to brag that they can afford to eat there 🤦🏻♀️

At least 70% of these pictures are probably fake, like you said. They see or rent an expensive vehicle and pose near it, giving the illusion it's theirs. It's not unusual. 😆

They influence people to try to mimic their behavior and lavish lifestyles.

People pay for taking photos on sets made to look like private jets
People photoshop themselves in fake locations
People take photos at other peoples houses and in front of other peoples vehicles
People spend money excessively on things that immediately depreciate (jewelry, cars they can't afford, etc) and are hyper consumers
They are actually influencing and it's ashame.

A year or two ago I registered an IG account to keep up with skincare pages and to this day I follow only skincare product retailers. I never see influencers and their fake posh lives.

That helicopter picture is taken from the monaco heliport. The flight with this helicopter costs only 160€ (taxi for the same distance is 100€). It’s a regular flight that has a schedule like a bus. It’s not private - anyone can buy the ticket to take it to save time (15 min by helicopter vs 30-45 min by car depending on traffic from airport to Monaco)
I had parents who stayed together and taught me right from wrong. Can't put a price tag on that.

@@Gww-1 You ever heard about the 'fake socialites' of Shanghai? They'd get together and groupbuy (in which case group rent) expensive labels for a day/hour just for photos. So for example, they'd group rent an expensive hotel for 1 day (they split the cost between themselves) just to take pics. Or they'd group rent a super expensive car. Or they'd group buy a super expensive afternoon tea set somewhere and pose, etc. It's been on the news. It's hilarious.

There's two types of rich people though. There's the rich people that got money over time by working hard and they don't blow huge amounts of money on stuff they don't need. Then there's the rich people that got rich overnight and after they blow it all and their fame wears off, they're poor again. These are the people most people think of when they think of rich people. In the Netherlands fast food like McDonald's, Burger King, KFC or New York Pizza isn't cheap at all. Fast food is expensive here. You can easily spend 10 15 euro's per person if you eat a fast food meal, drink often not even included for that price. Only if you eat a snack that is on sale you can sometimes get sone fast food for less than 3 euro's. Like McDonald's often has like a burger or cheeseburger that is less than 3 euro's. And you can sometimes get a small pizza at domino's if it is on sale and you pick it up instead of getting it delivered. But it really is small. Smaller than a supermarket pizza you can heat in your oven.
In the Netherlands if you want to eat cheaper you really need to cook yourself. Fast food is a luxury here.
You know it's not their car when they sit or put anything on the bonnet. Nobody who owns an expensive car will sit on the bonnet because it will have a dent and that's embarrassing.

In from a generation that was long before social media. I remember in 9th grade, one of my ‘friends’ was bragging to EVERYONE about how she and her family would be flying to the private island her daddy (actually his business I found out) BOUGHT. Everyone got so sick of her bragging. Our only consolation from having to hear about it ad nauseam was that she came back looking worse than any lobster I’ve ever seen! All of us kept ‘accidentally’ poking her or brushing against her bad bad sunburn. Oopie! Sorry bout that! 😂😂😂
It makes me sick thinking about the beautiful ostriges, lambs, angora rabbits, foxes and baby calfs that were killed just for their outfit of the day.
I can confirm that when we traveled to Monte Carlo for a day trip, the casino has several high end sports cars parked in front that likely belong to the casino (more cars outside than people inside). We laughed as two young women in very tight dresses posed next to each of the high end cars. They definitely did not own those cars.

The cards are pretty and interesting, but I'm more interested in something more practical. Like a Jeep (which still isn't that cheap), or like the Hyundai I own... Lol! Having really expensive cars means you're paying out the a$$ in insurance (especially where I live). Waste of money if you ask me. I'd rather spend it on other things, like a vacation.
