What Tony said is so right, fishing shows (and many hunting shows) create an unrealistic image of what it is like to be out there. That is one of the reasons I was immediately drawn to Meateater, you guys manage to juxtapose every sportsman's experience with errors, weather, and bloopers against amazing backdrops and successes.
Tony ought to be ashamed, he missed the one game species that Minnesota is top of the game with - ruffed grouse! We may not have a huge variety of species, but what we have is plentiful and ruffed grouse more than anyone else! Fun episode here, love seeing my home state represented!
Maine would be the next contender out of the lower 48. I agree. Same here deer bear and turkey moose by lottery and some it's a once in a lifetime hunt even for residents but the grouse hunting here is just amazing nothing to have ur limit of 4 birds in under 20 mins
My God I miss doing this! I don't get to go fishing. Made bad choices when I was young and now I'm stuck friendless, no family left, chasing dollars so I don't die and barely making it.
I'm spoiled by Texas. They're like moooonster and I'm over here like "meh that's about average here." I know smallies area lot smaller and fight a lot harder. Just having fun! I do wish we had the variety of species though. Heading to MN next month with my kayak and want to explore. A nice pike would be awesome
Guys, you're killing me here....please lip the bass or put your hand under his belly. Lifting them with the line is a recipe for disaster! Great video though!
Past few years I’ve been flattening all my barbs for pond fishing and steelhead. Never trebles. I haven’t noticed any more fish lost and especially for catch and release everybody wins. Torquing bass by the jaw is just dumb.
Smallies shake their heads too much. I think the line grabbing is better than getting a treble through your finger since they have no net. I've had friends try to grab smallies by the mouth. All it takes is 1 shake and that hook is in your finger. And when you realize it, the fish starts shaking some more. 😬
5lb ish on the heavy side but not 6lb totally potentially on length but just didn’t have the girth. Still a big ass smallie! And what sorta bass fisherman doesn’t have a net on their $50k boat?? 😂

I miss Das Boat.
Same!
Holy crap! Meateater finally let Tony get in front of a camera for something other than One Week in November.
😂
I always have enjoyed Tony’s content. Following him in the outdoors news was a joy.
I love these videos!!!!! Can’t go wrong with some nice top water frog footage!!!!!!!
I'd love to see more bass content from Meat Eater!
Can we get more of Seth and Chester fishing?
love those fishing contents thank you guys !!
The banter between them is exactly how me and my buddies talk when we are fishing.

May I ask how you get fishing right suspended for life I have never heard of that
I know the exact spots where they are fishing. Its a good crappie and walleye lake too! Not to mention channel catfish too
I got a 5 lb bass today at the lake on my catfish rod using cut bait. My PB bass. 5 lbs and from my finger tips to just past my elbow. 😐
Great video!
I hate when people don't bring scales fishing
Good stuff👍🏻
Nice smallie, I'd say is was about 4 to 5 pounds. Always fun fishing.
No net no scale , that’s how it is sometimes

What lake is this. I watched this 894x and no mentioned of the lake you want me where is Waldo this state over 10,000 lakes my guy.
Yeah, I haven’t drawn a deer tag in 12 years, count your blessings living in the Midwest
Great
I've got a couple frogs and a spider, haven't got anything on any of them yet. Still trying tho.
Dude says it's the biggest fish of his life and doesn't even weigh it. That's crazy, other dudes like we should have got a weight on that

They can't afford a net? Forgot it days in a row?
Most of them had a mouth full off 2 or 3 treble hooks.
At least they ain't sending lips to the stratosphere like jon b 😅

Agreed, be respectful
All the line grabbing...i cant 🙈🙈

I will never understand why bass guys refuse to use a net...

👍🇧🇷
The way this guy describes hunting in MN sounds lame, I'm glad I've never hunted public land.

Catching and releasing.....
Atleast cook some fish and eat it.
Nobody ate meat. What da heck? Those bass eat good too. I know the one guy has an allergy but there are others
The episode’s without Steve aren’t the same…
