Young Concert Band - Grade 3
With an unmistakable and distinct style, the music of Danny Elfman is found in many classic offbeat and spooky movies. Featuring themes from Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Spider-Man, Beetlejuice, and Tales from the Crypt, here's a terrific arrangement that is sure to be a hit with your audience.

Not gunna lie, I loved this song while I was in band, and I still love it now. But I dont think Ill ever get over the transition of "spooky season movies" to Spiderman.
I miss band so much. I’m graduated but I’ll do anything to do band again
@@Endergirl-xz7qijoin a community band!
Played this in high school band (tuba) and it’s still my absolute favorite piece that I had the opportunity to play
Did euphoniums enhance your tuba.
The transition at 2:52 is so great. Just when you think it's over, you get plunged right back into the music!
I listened to this piece every day in 7th grade and memorized the flute parts and that transition actually made me hard.
@@sacrowin I um- okay
Fair enough.
you prolly dont give a damn but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account..?
I somehow forgot my password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me.
@Salvador Rhett instablaster =)
I'm so glad you can actually hear the bass clarinet in 2:54, usually we're covered up by everyone else
Bass clarinet carries
Yep
We Played this, and it was so nice as a trombone player to actually have a good part of the melody (The Beetlejuice part). We got to play louder and it was so great! Not to mention the Bass Clarinet was fun to listen to in the Nightmare Before Christmas part.
I'm a bass clarinet huh!
I couldn’t hear the bass clarinet much, I heard it but it was blending with the tuba so yeah
Fax
I shared this with my old high school band teacher and he loved this. He might have the concert or symphonic band play this.
Edit: my school band is playing it. Sucks that I graduated
We played this every year in our Fall Concert/Holiday Concert.
Hudson Falls High School. Our Band was the best! I got to ppay timpani, the ratchet, temple blocks and the other fun noises. ❤😊
We are playing this at Norco Highschool, it's a ton of fun and I'm really enjoying it •an Alto Sax playet
It's always fun as a tuba player when you get solos and solis
Ayeee, Duet with Piccolo :3
This is true, for i myself play tuba ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Doge Music Productions heck yeah it is
Gustav Holst Second Suit in F
@@kassiecason7017 omg another bass clari! I wanted to play that solo with the tuba, but the director wouldnt let me.
This is my favorite piece we played in my high school’s wind ensemble. I played tenor sax, and it was always fun. I’m now studying to be a music teacher in college and I would love to one say conduct this in a high school band.
Amy Punch هلو حياتي الورد😍😍😍😛😛
Amy Punch I’m playing this in middle school
Ahhh now THIS is why I love playing tuba
scalped same 😭
just played along with my clarinet. love this piece
Dark Type Noah Im a clarinetist too. When it goes to Beetlejuice it gets interesting.
Dark Type Noah the main part for clarinet is around beetle juice isn't it?
I did, too!
I mean I played my clarinet along with this piece as well!
Yay clarinet buddies!! XD I love playing Clarinet lol
I played it about 3 years ago. Played the 1st F horn part. Such memories. I love this piece.
Same here. F horn 💪
finally another French horn. I haven’t played this piece but would love to in later years
Played this my junior year of high school for our fall concert...the audience loved it!
katsolutely why are high schoolers playing this in high school when I’m playing it in 7th grade??
@@horseykaseyshow3227 because they want it to actually sound good
Çât Êggs Oh that makes since
@@horseykaseyshow3227 probably because your band is good enough
I'm playing this in my symphonic band. I love this so much! Favorite song this year
What grade?
A green, under ripe banana I’d assume 5 (abrsm standard)
Me puedes compartir esta obra para tocarla con mi banda sinfónica acá en Colombia
playing this for spring concert. I love it and I play trombone
Erin Bryant My middle school band is trying to do this down before the school year ends
D I Why or Ayumi Shoko my band director took out the beetle juice part and I was sad
Erin Bryant That is depressing, my director is making my class rehearse this to Oblivion, but it sounds good for a middle school band I think
D I Why or Ayumi Shoko yea the song is a bit challenging but once you get the tempo and rhythm you are all good
D I Why or Ayumi Shoko be careful on 3:26 it took me forever to play right
This arrangement is brilliant
I love Danny Elfman sooo much. We played it for our field show and now for our unit festival. :3
Love this piece we marched bettlejuice last year and now we are playing this piece on concert band.
Oh my gosh ! This piece brings back so many memories, I played this my freshman year
I could listen to this all day.
I played this for my summer band and as a flute player 1:51 will always be my favorite part
Me compartes la obra ?
Man this was so fun to play. Makes me miss high school band.
I need to play this next week with my junior high school band for spring concert on bassoon... rip.
we're playing this for our middle school band concert and as a bass clarinet i'm really excited
My band teacher won't let me learn a new instrument but he let's other people learn new instruments 😔
Played this piece when I was in the 8th grade I remember so much and get a little happy when I hear any of the songs getting played by themselves. I remember it was hard for me when I played this I had to get all the solos in a high school level band class. I miss that band director.
I remember playing this back during my sophomore or junior year of high school! Loved playing this so much on Clarinet 1 or 2.
i played this yesterday :) the bells and other percussion were the best parts
I remember playing this in middle school, wow, shows how much you grow when you keep practicing
We are going to play this for our fall concert soooo excited
Doing this in my band it is my absolute favorite song that we are playing!
I played this in middle school and had the piccolo solo at 1:07. Literally so much fun.
I loved this so much we played this last year in advanced band it was so much fun and I can't really pick which part was my favorite but if I had to choose it would be this is halloween and beetlejuice. #SHRS BAND
I played guitar in school band and we never got any music for this. We only played the intro for Beetlejuice.
so much fun to play as barry sax!!! The low notes are just UMPH YES
Loved playing this song!!!!!😘
Love this piece, played it in 8th grade a long time ago and now I’m currently playing this in community band and it’s such a throwback. 😄😄
this piece is just absolutely amazing
I’m playing this right now in band I go Shelby Valley High school and Im an alto saxophone and this song is great
Im playing this in band and i luv it
Played this my sophomore year, many of us were crying at the end because everything in this was from our childhood! Godbless Danny Elfman.
Man, this was part of my last concert in freshman year of highschool, it was amazing
Songs like this, a song called Arabian dances, British isle suite, and this one damn march that I can't remember the name to but I remember it was also really good
Playing this in my middle school band (I'm in the top band) I love this music so much that I am listening to it just because!
I always loved playing This Is Halloween and the Beetlejuice
We played this at one of my middle school concerts, and this is actually what got me to watch Beetlejuice.
I love this piece
Played this for honor band in 2012... the memories 💔
I can't wait to play this in concert!
We’re playing this for our 8th grade Halloween concert and it’s so fun on euphonium!
I remember playing this for gvc band, I loved every moment of it.
Get to play this my senior year! I get to do the pic solo and I’m so excited!!!
I miss playing this last year! Really made my Halloween
Played this for snare drum. Awesome
this will never not be good, i play the tenor sax part because its so fun, and the transitions are so amazing 😭
omfg we just sightread this today, and man was it a disaster, but this sounds AMAZINGG!!!-8th grader
Are you 9th now? Like me 🖐
I remember playing this during my first year of high school! That was maybe 10 years ago? I've always thought about it afterwards but never looked it up until now
Man loved this but something im really into is theater music but i would love an arrangement of Little shop of horrors i would watch that like fifty times pls that would be great
our band did that a few weeks ago
Bloomingdale HS did a marching show on it
we are playing this for our school holloween celebration
Me too!
same
same
+Erin Cash erin is that you
its me erwin
I HAVE CRIPPLING DEPRESSION wtf XD
We play this song every year in my schools band & im a senior.
I took the sheet music so I wouldn’t miss it so much 😂
I play baritone (I have bassoon sheet music, because the previous baritone player took the music and never gave it back), and we’ve done this for my 8th grade year, and now we’re doing it again for my sophomore year.
our middle school honors band played this and we all loved it, especially how easy and awesome it is
Our middle school never got an honor band.
We’re playing this in my band (clarinet player here lol) it’s so hard though
Try beeing the single tuba player then get back to me
💀@@puregaming3976
I love the song!❤❤
nice this was pretty well arranged i would love to see musicals to like little shop of horrors etc. too but good job hal leonard
we are playing this in my band I got the hard part 😭
Kassie Cason clarinet
Kassie Cason 3
me too and I only have 1
Omg the beetlejuice part for Bass Clarinet is so fun
@@kassiecason7017 I swear when we picked our instruments everyone said I wanna be squidward. The clarinets have the most or second most members in the whole band and there were at least 10 more before they dropped band
everytime we get to the beetlejuice section, our conductor takes out his trumpet to play with us and stops conducting and i just can NOT count there for some reason
I absolutely adore the way that Spiderman Theme comes in.
Same for beetlejuice
The theme comes in well, but is underwhelming in this arrangement compared to the original linked below, and the transition out of it to the coda leaves me unsatisfied.
I played this in my freshman year.
As the only bass clarinet player XD
Where's my bass clarinet bros at the beetle juice section
In band we are playing this for the Spring Concert and the clarinet part in the song after Edward Scissorhands is literally so hard to play. lol
I get to play this tonight for a concert! Hooray!
I'm playing in June
How’s u do?
THANK YOU!!!!
playing this in band rn ! very fun
playing the tuba part on a baritone sax. mega fun bassline
we are playing this in my highschool right now and i love this song already no one cares but i play alto sax :)
No way fr are you playing any other songs?
I so wish I could play this in some ensemble
man this takes me back to highschool band
we're doing this for our movie concert!
+Peyton Taylor same with elizabethtown area middle school
+techy509 Logan County High School is doing this
Peyton Taylor What state
techy509 Kentucky
I love playing this as a percussionist
Yeah I played it as a percussionist during honor band and when we were practicing I got a migraine because it was so loud😂 twice. I had bells on this song
this was a very song fun to play :)
Bassoon part is the best!!! 😄
Played this in 7th grade! Loved it
Brilliant!,
That end is awesome. It’s like you’re expecting it to end with all the triplety stuff, but no. You get shot into a final, dramatic and lively end for about 4 bars 😂 (5:01)
Can you make an Arrangement of This is Halloween for itself?
WAY FREAKIN BETTER THAN "MUSIC IN THE DARK" ARRANGED BY JOHNNIE VINSON
IFKR
That’s simpler version
@@Aduysvmncmkouyf i know but this one is still superior :)
@@birhb6372 yeah
I played that one for the concert instead of this 🥲
This is exactly like “music in the dark”. Which is also a very good piece of music which you should also check out
Playing this at my concert today
YALL WE PLAYING THIS THIS YEAR FOR SPRING
OMG SAME
Same
You guys are talking about playing it in high school and I'm like 😅 the seventh and eighth graders are playing it at my school
Our schoolband does this.
I’m a euphonium player and my primary school band played this I’m in grade 6
I played music in the dark in October, looking at this makes me so concerned...
my middle school played this and it sounds just like this
This is cool
Can you make an arrangement of Spring Breath March?
Flute 1 gang!!
Edit: I guess my band director wants me on piccolo now lmao
Ignore this
1:04
3:14
did anyone ask
@@kaycinne6279 ☝️🤓
Bassoon!!!❤️
i would hate to play this, as good as it sounds lol
Is the beginning a version of Tales from the Crypt theme?
Yes
Yeah
Yee
Yeah.
Absolutely
Does anyone have the sheet or midi files?
Anybody play this on clarinet cause I asked my BD if we can play this and I just wanna know like what are the notes for the weird sixteen notes and eighteen notes at the end and the trill and all that and how hard they are and what notes are in the key signature
