That night 🌙 in July of 1965 was an iconic one as Dylan went electric at Newport & confirmed things had changed. Love the ladies fashions that summer ☀️. Colorful & bold.
I'm glad you mentioned the Dave Clark 5 in your doc. In way too many of these docs they are completely overlooked. The average person old enough at the time doesn't remember that they were the 2nd British rock act to achieve mainstream success in the US after the Beatles; Stones were quick to follow. DC 5 was the very first rock concert I attended in June 1964 at the age of 11. Great doc on all that happened in 65. I was young at the time but I remember. I joined my father on a business trip to London July 65. I pestered the poor guy about taking me to Carneby St. and in frustration he yelled at me calling it "Cranberry" st. Have never forgotten that.
Awesome 😎 i’m glad you said that because I almost included a Dave Clark video footage of him being stopped on the street and asked about his mod style. It’s such a great clip showcasing his upbeat personality. I’ll have to include that on the next one.
@@harvey1954 I had no idea whatsoever that the Dave Clark 5 appeared 18 individual times on the Sullivan show. The band put out some decent material but wound up having a relatively short run on the scene. It was only about 3 to 4 years; 64 to 67 / 68. They were the type of clean cut, nice looking suited act that would of appealed to an old warehouse like Sullivan. 18 times in that very short period of time.I'm confident you know your stuff but than again, are you sure?
I really enjoy watching your interesting and informative videos about the mid-1960s. I watch these videos at a lower speed but they still go too fast to enjoy and appreciate the photos accompanying them.
1965 wasn’t the best sixties year in Italy after the exiting previous years and all would speed up again from 1966 on. But 1965 had its moments anyway. Best time of my life. I was in my teens. 1965 If I could press a button and go back there I wouldn't even have to think about it.
😎

I was 11 and listened to all these tunes on KRLA Pasadena / Los Angeles.
Fond memories. Thanks!
Very cool! You’re welcome!

@@freewheelingideas Sounds good!!
They appeared 18 times on the Ed Sullivan Show. More than any other act.

Thanks for the feedback. Will slow it down..
It'll never happen again.....never.....
The John Mayall Bluesbreakers album came out in June 66. They did have a single I’m Your Witchdoctor out in 65, produced by Jimmy Page.
Tom Jones What’s New Pussycat knocked the Stones Satisfaction out of #1 spot on the charts where I lived.....lol
Ah! The rock star/fashion model complex again!
The Kinks never released "This Strange Effect",however in this century a BBC performance has been released.
Great stuff!
Thank you 🙏
the craziest part is that 1966 was even better
