Steps really don’t get enough credit. They’re unapologetically pop and know their brand. Their album is easily one of the best of 2020 in terms of pop. It’s not a guilty pleasure at all! They’re so true to themselves, brand and fans there’s no need to be ashamed!
I think they sound amazing and im in my 40s
I do think Claire consciously takes a backseat in some songs to allow the others a chance to shine. It's no secret that Claire is the powerhouse and I think she is very aware of how that can overshadow everyone else at times. Faye is so consistently great, but I love seeing Lisa steal the show for once. I think her ad-libs at the end are some of her best vocal deliveries ever!
Their voices just blend. They always have. They all bring a special something that gives the group the near-perfect pop sound. Those weird chord/vocal arrangements are just magic. They slap you around the head and say "listen !!". The skill in carrying it out while listening to something that shouldn't sound that way in your head is just amazing. Then there is that fantastic key change on top of all the other stuff that's been going on. It's a very clever piece of music.

In this performance Lisa surprises really with vocals and performance, she overshines the other girls with her energy. The all seems to have a lot of fun with song. A really ABBA Pop song, no surprise the original is from Sweden :)
Lisa is my Queen! You can tell she LOVES this song! So EXCITED to see them in concert next year!
Of the 3 female members, claire is the vocalist, Lisa brings the energy and moves the best and Faye is a nice balance between the two.

They're brilliant. And, look, they're in their mid-to-late 40s now.. Their Arena Concert was fantastic. Singing LIVE. . Far too many established singers are too afraid to do that now. No auto-tune ever needed for STEPS.
I'm certain Lisa has been working hard to strengthen her live vocals recently. It's now really coming thru in her delivery. She sounded shaky for a couple years, and now it feels her support and range are much better.

An ABBA feel - it was originaly a swedish song, from their Melodifestival competition. It did not win and go to the Eurovision. But the original is also great

Well, without a doubt Steps vocally means CLAIRE. And that’s it. Faye and H are two other very good vocalists, but Claire is THE VOICE of Steps. Her voice is extraordinary. Amazing performance generally, I am so happy they are back!

I think Steps are so underrated.....they've never done a song I havent loved!
Lisa was so pleased to be let out it shone....ok theyre live voices may not be 100 on every single note but they more than make up for that with everythin else they have on offer!

Listen to 5578 and other songs of theirs back in the 90s they where the best group around.
I find Lisa is ALWAYS the absolute most excitable member & such she never sounds great live however, they released a Night In edition of their current album that had an acoustic live version of “Under My Skin” & Lisa actually sounded really solid 😻😻😻

Yeah it’s Lisa doing the ‘be another’ the end. I love Faye, Lee and Lisa’s styling but not H and Claire’s. There was something else I was going to say but I’ve forgotten it for now. Thanks for the vid! :-)

Honestly that was a brilliant reaction video. I have not heard of steps before this newest album came out and with this song was just lovely to watch and listen to. I have never bought a CD really of music when steps released it I just had to get it so I could put it it my car and bop along and sing as I go to work and home :) Hello from Canada I hope one day they come over here to tour!

“JUST TELL ME THAT YOU’RE MINE” is clearly live. Claire doesn’t need the pre recorded vocals. Have you heard the acoustic version? The vocals are amazing on that. I love how much you are loving them now though.
Claire has to belt out on this chorus and sounds amazing! She takes total lead and shines for me. She doesn’t give as much dance as her vocals need her energy.

Their 20 yrs experience shines through in this performance. They make it appear effortless. It's classic Steps and we love that. Vocals were great. We MUST discuss the costumes! Steps are people "of a certain age" that's right they are all now officially middle aged! Who on earth thought it was a good idea to put Claire in that outfit- it looked like one of those Sumo wrestler suits you can hire crossed with a harlequin outfit. Lee in a S&M harness??? Def for the gay fans that one! Poor old H just looked ridiculous in that unflattering pink jump suit thingy. The poor guy looked like a pile of next weeks washing. They seriously need to rethink the stage costumes, these really detracted from the performance- I just felt so sorry for H throughout the whole routine!

I think Lisa's now a teacher, so she's had quite a lot of practice in commanding a room. Her confidence shines through. My ex is a teacher and he said it's all theatrics and bravado when trying to get, and keep the attention of 30+ unruly teenagers.

Sorry I don’t know what you meant about Claire’s pre recorded vocals?? I disagree with you there. She doesn’t need pre recorded vocals she always sings live and ALWAYS slays the vocals without Claire the others would be in trouble. I also agree it is nice to hear the others singing but for me Claire is the best singer in the group. I loved their live performances on the night in edition was brilliant!

Even tho he’s straight. The designer of these costumes works with a lot of bondage/S&m themes in his styling. I want him to dress me when I’m back to my pop star body

Lisa and faye had a physical presence which was great. Not sure what was going on with Claire. Her outfit was horrible so I'm wondering if she was uncomfortable in that, along with H. Hard to tell.They need to perform it again to get some confidence. Need more smiling from all of them.
They are still my most favourite pop group with little mix... And you loving both of them as I do just about makes up for+ cancels out your Mariah Carey obsession I can't stand 🤪😜😘
