I needed a “Halfass Kustom” fix. It’s been one heck of a day….. congrats on the driveshaft…. It pays to save all those old parts…. It’s like gold wrapped up in rusted steel. The floors turned out killer….
I love this part where you where you are building parts I am 71 years old now and I used to love doing this I no longer can see very well so I can't weld like I used to I've been trying to sell my welder and equipment but of course nobody wants to give me anything for it so I will just keep it in my garage and look at it , lol 😅
That's the problem today. Everyone wants stuff for free. I'm glad you were able to do what Brent does. I'm not capable of this. It must have been quite the time of your life..
@howardkoster4026 Yes it was a great time on my life but I didn't realize it at the time only after watching Brent that I realize how much I enjoyed building things
It's good that you show people what it really takes to build a car I know cuz I have built several of them but a lot of people don't understand what the ends and outs are That's why you have a good channel this car is going to be awesome when somebody gets it and finishes it something different most definitely
The floors are looking great Brent. I know it was a lot of extra work but I'm glad you went the extra mile and fix the box brackets for the supporting door and floor. Good to see the one piece driveshaft will work out. A smaller hump is always better, and it may allow you to put a bench seat in it if that's what you wanted instead of going with bucket seats. Love your videos, they make my day as I really enjoy your fabricating skills and work ethic.
I enjoy watching you fab up the panels and call me dense but I also enjoy wiring. I used to special in wiring when I was a mechanic. When I was done it was typically difficult to tell it wasn’t stock.
Your cardboard cad engineering has inspired me to do the same with my 2005 Ford Expedition resto-mod. Many thanks for leading me through how to do this.
I know the nits and grits are a pain but it really is cool to watch and you do a great job too. It makes me feel good to see you shine light on the dirty details. I like fixing stuff so it works for me. Way to go. D
I think you might be the best at cardboard aided design, that I’ve seen! That’s going to be stronger than what was there before, and once carpet is in you’ll never see it!
I love watching you fabricate these pieces. I did this to my 50 Chevy pickup when I was 50 years old, but now I'm 74 and much less motivated / able to dig into a project. I sold my welding equipment two years ago and regret it when I watch your videos.
I was so Happy that For Once you actually had a Driveshaft that just worked ! I've watched all your videos at least twice and it was always shortening them ( which isn't as bad ) but I was so stoked that you found one that fit great with No "Kustomization " !
Brent, for a lack of better words on my part, you cannot build a house if the foundation is crumbling. The work you did on the driver's side door area, needed to be repaired. Had you ignored it, it would have been on your mind and bothered you. Glad you took the time and fixed it.
I love the “good enough” attitude in your builds. Just go for it. I’m getting more confident for when I tackle my 69 CJ rat rod project, maybe in the spring. I’m inspired by your channel.
Just want to say hi to you all and Ian it does need more brace to help hold the floor. Keep up the good work and it's always a pleasure to watch you work. You always joke a little and laugh alot and that makes me feel better. God bless and have a blessed evening and night.
As always. . . never know how a Frankenstein project is gonna turn out, but when its Halfass Kustoms. . its always good! Enjoying the process like usual!! Cant wait to see how this ends up!!
The amount, and mix, of engineering and fab in this one is really cool. Love the one-piece and your glee that it worked. The cockpit has an Aircobra vipe, you should go olive drab.
As always I watch while doing other things On this Break - I was out cleaning up after the storm I can do only so much then I start to hurt in my Back and Legs, it's a 47 min Break this time thx Brent
When it comes to things like that bracket, we've all had to do things we didn't want to in order to get back to doing the things we enjoy doing. It's call life.
Dear HAK. 👍👌👏 2) Doesn't almost any work take longer than expected?! Thanks a lot for making explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards, luck and especially health to all of you (including the dogs 💚 of course).
Just love Cardboard Assisted Design, I notice you use what looks like Corrs, I have used Kellogg’s Corn Flake boxes on my Austin Mini but find it crisps up when welding in lol. Love what you’ve achieved and some of the one liners, So the door can be a door!, mint. Music selection is brill too. Stay well you two.
Nice fix on that rocker mount. Not too familiar with Stude body bits. Seems a bit strange. Great save on that drive shaft. Looks like a very long shaft. I hope it true and balanced. (I worry too much) Floor work looks good. The Studamino is really coming along. Love watching.
Hi there Brett at least you do a great job on your workmanship mate as always your better and some of them traysmen out there mate At least you replacement when you are building cars parts not filling it up with filler mate it done the right way mate like i your ways say Your great workmanship at least the car will be safe to drive it and it doesn't turn to shit after awhile mate keep up with your great work mate and keep safe guys
Pablo is nearly wetting himself (and you) by the time you turn that door handle. He keeps beckoning you with his head, terrified that you are going to change your mind and do some more ;-)
Coors beercad, equal opurtunity i guess👍 I can agree, Stroodlemaker had some wierd design ideas. You should be good with travel, unless you are going up hwy12 north😂
Hey Brent. I think i may of mentioned this before on another project. But i know you love bench seats. In your travels of other salvage yards and private back lots... Look for Ford Granadas, particularly 4 doors. The seats are about the right size to fit in an older smaller body. They were built close to the floor with a tranny tunnel recess in the seat frame. Some were 1 piece...others were 60/40 split benches
@HalfassKustoms getting that way in Michigan...but they were the best grandma commuter car there was with a straight 6 and cheap purchase price back in the day ....
You can use a 6” cut off wheel on your grinders since you don’t use the guard. You get almost twice the life out of them than the 4 1/2 “. I buy the Metabos .040 , a little pricey but well worth the money.
Yes I agree, walk away for a bit and play with another project to refresh your mind, how about the little snow cat thing no doubt the snow will come lol
I needed a “Halfass Kustom” fix. It’s been one heck of a day….. congrats on the driveshaft…. It pays to save all those old parts…. It’s like gold wrapped up in rusted steel. The floors turned out killer….
Austin is doing great on the patch work, atta boy! 😉✌

(I guess I gotta remake this real quick) What a freaking legend ❤.
Well those repairs are kinda the content I like watching the how to' s
This is going to be a cool ride. Cant believe the drive shaft fit. A little luck dont hurt. Thanks Brent!
It's good that you show people what it really takes to build a car I know cuz I have built several of them but a lot of people don't understand what the ends and outs are That's why you have a good channel this car is going to be awesome when somebody gets it and finishes it something different most definitely

I really like the old Studes, and it’s wild being a pickup. Very neat Brent nice work so far👍🏻
The floors are looking great Brent. I know it was a lot of extra work but I'm glad you went the extra mile and fix the box brackets for the supporting door and floor. That driveshaft was a win Brent! Like the floor panels as well.
I enjoy watching you fab up the panels and call me dense but I also enjoy wiring. I used to special in wiring when I was a mechanic. When I was done it was typically difficult to tell it wasn’t stock.
Hello Brent, great progress on the floor, also big Win with the driveline. Take care 👍
Your cardboard cad engineering has inspired me to do the same with my 2005 Ford Expedition resto-mod. Many thanks for leading me through how to do this.
Awesomely done Brent you are definitely winning. Thanks again for sharing take care.
Floors look awesome. Glad you found a driveline. The way Pablo was telling you it is time to go in (or maybe a rip), made me laugh.
I just love your fabrication with the beer box patterns .Great job.
Cardboard Aided Drawings CAD
Always enjoying to watch you working on the old iron , keep bringing them back to life.. thanks for your videos Brent. God bless all and good health.
Great work . Great decision to go a little deeper on the rockers
I think as you are going along your slowly falling in love with this creation! Just like the rest of us!
Really like how you fab’d that replacement door/frame bracket and fillers - great solution. Its why I’m such a loyal fan.

Best regards, luck and especially health to all of you (including the dogs 💚 of course).
Did they even sell Studebakers in Canada back in the day? This baby's got history. And rust
I'm learning from you so much, Thanks...
That StudeCamino would look real good with the top half of the Buick quarters on it in place of the home bult panels on it now.
Looking good my friend thank for sharing.
Keep up the good work bro
I had an s10 ext. cab for 8 years and only ever put a rear u- joint in it. The hanger bearing was original. Very dependable.

Snow is on the way Brent we got 35 cm last night ( Ab.) ... Take care
You can use a 6” cut off wheel on your grinders since you don’t use the guard. You get almost twice the life out of them than the 4 1/2 “. I buy the Metabos .040 , a little pricey but well worth the money.
When you found a driveshaft thats fits perfectly, that must have made your day lol. That never happens lol
Wish I had the money to buy that off ya when your done building it ! lol !
Very cool!
Yes I agree, walk away for a bit and play with another project to refresh your mind, how about the little snow cat thing no doubt the snow will come lol
