Actually your last one was really popolar in Portugal, sung by a very popolar singer with very beautiful words from a famous poet. And Portuguese people were so upset and sad because of the bad position that year that did send a singer the year after!! ,😉
My personal Top 3 of that year would be: 1) Italy 2) Germany 3) The Netherlands That song from Italy gives me goosebumps all over - a perfect combination of songwriting, arranging and an angelic voice...
Your two last places are my first and second ahah we have about zero percent in common in our tops but I like your design and that you're doing the older years as well :)
Lucas, for a few years I've been pitching the idea of a major motion picture about that 1969 contest, and I'm sure a number of ESC winners might want to appear in it. I'd love to cast Lena Meyer-Landrut and Mans Zemerlow as Paola and Tommy, respectively, and ALeksander Rybak and Duncan Laurence as two members of the orchestra. I'd also have Ilse DeLange as lenny Kuhr, Valentina Monetta as Iva Zanicchi, and Luisa Sobral as Simone DeOliveira. Now how can I contact Dexter Fletcher to see if he wants to do it?
News Note: Muriel Day Became the First ever Woman to Represent IRELAND in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1969. One Year later Rosemary Brown Became the Second Woman to Represent Ireland in 1970 And Won the Eurovision Song Contest, Ireland's first ever win . Both Women were from Ulster.
My winner is also Switzerland. But this year is so strong that it's nearly impossible to pick just one. Also you really seem to not like the french songs that are among my favourites, for example France 1979 and France 1969.
I don't hate you because you put "Un jour, un enfant" too low. I'm not even angry because I'm French. I'm just a bit sad because that song always makes me cry.
I agree with you about France. The Netherlands not so much - it's my personal fav that year. I love her voice. Someone did a recent poll and Italy came top although the Netherlands were second. 1969 was a pretty good year overall.

I agree with a lot of your picks. I think France's entry was pretty bland compared to the other three that won first place. Siw Malmkvist is incredibly talented being able to sing in both Swedish AND German And although I was very unfamiliar with Tommy Korberg before I got into Eurovision, I do agree that everything he touches does indeed turn to pure gold.
Thanks, but my impression is that you are working too hard; being tired makes one prefer mediocre mid-tempos to the brilliant and thoughtful Dutch and French entries. Best.

It is normal, the result was a crime!
Ironically Lulu hates the song, because she said it wasn't her.
Wow, in my top, your 16th and 15th were actually my first and second, respectively. Also liked your winner
I know I am kinda off topic but do anybody know a good site to watch newly released series online?

I know something that will make you like Kristi even more - she wasn't just a singer but was a talented comedienne.
Wow! I didn't know anyone else thought Ein Hoch Der Liebe was the best song of 1968

i am waiting for your next top eurovision
My top 1 in Eurovision song contest 1969 is...
SPAIN WITH VIVA CANDANTO
thank you from spain!
:D We are in agreement that Spain was the best out of the four winners!
Also Lenny Kuhr ist echter Kult, die hätte ruhig etwas höher sein dürfen…
my personal 4 (with comments)
1:Jean jacques:maman maman-monaco🇲🇨
this song is so catchy and the performance is so bealtiful
2:Siw malakist(I don't know how to spell her name =/) :primaballerina-germany🇩🇪
Even though I love this song it doesn't add anything special to the performance anyway this music is catchy ngl
3:iva zanicchi:(I forgot the name of the song)-italy🇮🇹
Some may love this song but I find it very "dramatic" and this song doesn't make me want to sing it every day btw I loved Iva's outfit
4:(I forgot the singer's name):judy min vän-sweden🇸🇪
It's the same case as in Italy but 100 times worse I hate it when this song comes on because for me it's very repetitive I have no love for this song
(please remember this is MY OPINION so don't throw shit at me)
The Swiss song is really outdated. It could be a good winner for 1959 but not for 1969
Bin voll bei Dir, Lucas! Paola war die Beste!
I'm totally with you, Lucas! No one should've conquered Paola.

ITs obvious that the top of the video is from a german speaker, put too high Germany and Switzerland
I agree with a lot of your picks. I think France's entry was pretty bland compared to the other three that won first place.
Siw Malmkvist is incredibly talented being able to sing in both Swedish AND German
And although I was very unfamiliar with Tommy Korberg before I got into Eurovision, I do agree that everything he touches does indeed turn to pure gold.
I agree with the list except for the placements of the four winners, other than that I agree.

Cant understand that Italy came 13th!!! 😢
Those who had to win won
So you are saying that my Eurovision queen did not deserve to win? 😠
Thanks, but my impression is that you are working too hard; being tired makes one prefer mediocre mid-tempos to the brilliant and thoughtful Dutch and French entries. Best.
I prefer the beautiful songs from Norwy and Switzerland to that boring Dutch entry.
1:34 Western Enya. WTF!?!?!?!?
