- The Paragon board is the endgame character progression system in Diablo 4. While you receive 59 passive points from leveling and renown you will have a total of 220 paragon points. Spending these points wisely will be the major difference between success and failure in Diablo IV. Using glyphs correctly will also help a lot and we'll go over glyphs directly in another video in detail.

I'm completely new to diablo, it would be cool to see this series expand on basic mechanics that exist within diablo as well, such as how to build based off of gear, or how to calculate crit chance and damage with simple forumulas, how to theory craft based on abilities and aspects, etc. just basics on the series that most new players like myself dont know how to do or cant do well because we lack the experience.
hmm interesting ideas, i'll see what I can do
I'd like this too. A complete guide on basics.
You can pick your friends and you can pick your nodes but you can't pick your friends nodes.
good production quality on this. thuroughly enjoyed.
Very well done video. Slide projector noise is great.
Glad you liked it 😀
As always great content DonTheCrown. this was a great watch to start my morning
thanks! glad you enjoyed
Thoroughly enjoyed the video! Good stuff.
thanks! hopefully they are helpful
Thanks to your video it was very easy to understand, thanks!
Thank you for this, long time D3 player, I hit Paragon today expecting to have a solid grasp of things.
I didn't. Not even a little. This was an absolute life saver!
Great series of videos
Nice little touch with the Slide projector sounds.
thanks! working on the overall quality
*Takes a seat* Oh goodie, another great video to watch!
Love the edit! Now, about that charcuterie board... can I have some too?
sure! the cursed brie is a real scream
Well done, very easy for new players. If you love to theory craft and build, paragon boards are exciting and maddening at the same time. They can really flip a build around though and make it very powerful.
looks like full respecs are going to be only a little more common in D4 endgame than D2.
There are a million other things to consider when starting paragon but this vid seems perfect for people anticipating endgame.
A tutorial to methodically optimise the path you need to get all the buffs you want from the board without wasting points would be a nightmare to make.
Extremely underrated channel
@6:24 you don't have to go left or right at that node. Once you've unlocked a glyph socket, it counts as a regular paragon point node, and you can go left or right from it.
I would not underestimate the importance of the resistances path on the board, especially if you are playing a squishier build.
Would be nice with a guide that cover diffrent playstyles and options for all the classes . Not just this is the best build . Some general archetypes that people can than explorer themselves
that's a good idea
good stuff 👍
thanks!
Hello, may I please request a you cover Aspects and some videos that focus on class-specific mechanics such as the barbarian's Arsenal System and Technique slot?
bit late watching but thanks for this :)
Would be nice to see a video about Aspects
Do you know if we can use the same glyph in multiple boards like if we got the same one to drop say 2 or 3 times?
some questions.
do respec costs change only with level increases?
do stats from your items contribute to the rare node requirements?(i guess no)
do % based bonuses add like those from items or their own way? ring +10% damage reduction, rare node +10%// = 20%? 11%?
ugh... not knowing whether an ability is going 5% or 0.5% without a description is annoying!
Thanks
thanks!
Greetings, class! Today, we're diving into the mysterious world of Paragon boards, those elusive entities that are much more complicated than they appear. Picture this: you hit Level 50 and suddenly Paragon boards come crashing into your life like an avalanche of confusion. No more passive points for leveling up; instead, you receive a single Paragon point for every quarter level. So, that's 200 points in total. On top of that, you can snag four Paragon points from each of the five zones, adding up to a grand total of 220 points. Compared to the measly 59 passive points, Paragon becomes your new survival sanctuary.
But what in the world is a Paragon board? Hold your cheese and meat, my friend. That's a charcuterie board, not a Paragon board. Paragon boards are like passive trees on steroids. They come in six flavors: common, magic, rare, legendary, gate, and glyph sockets. Common nodes give you a small stat boost, and you grab them because, well, why not? Magic nodes offer slightly bigger stat bonuses or other minor benefits. Then come the rare nodes, which provide sizable bonuses and an extra boost if you meet certain conditions. These babies can turn a dull travel node into a bonus-enabling powerhouse.
Now, hold on tight because here come the legendary nodes! Each board has one, and they bestow you with mighty powers. Picture a rogue gaining near-immunity for a brief moment after activating inner sight. Legendary nodes are like the celebrity guests of Paragon boards. They're a bit far away, though, about 11 to 15 nodes from a gate node. Ah, gate nodes! These marvelous connectors allow you to travel between boards. Choose wisely, my friends, as the path to your desired nodes may differ depending on the gate you use.
Last but not least, we have the glyph sockets. Think of them as little homes for glyphs. Complete nightmare dungeons (yes, I said dungeons) to acquire these glyphs and enjoy significant character benefits. Glyphs can range from increasing damage to tagging enemies with vulnerabilities. They come in different shapes and sizes, and you can level them up for more power. Put the right glyph in the right socket, and you've hit the Paragon jackpot.
Now, let's talk strategy, shall we? Your first Paragon board is like a small appetizer, with only one gate node at the top and a lonely glyph socket in the middle. You start at the bottom and work your way up, grabbing powerful nodes along the way. Choose your path wisely: the left side offers defense, while the right side brings the offense. But beware! My niece's minions won't go down without a fight, so you'll need all the damage you can get.
As you progress, more board options open up like a buffet of choices. Consider grabbing legendary nodes, powerful rare nodes, and their trusty magic node sidekicks. They can be juiced up by glyphs, adding some serious spice to your Paragon adventure.
So, my dear students, pathing your Paragon board is like navigating a treacherous maze of bonuses and power-ups. The best choice for you will change as you earn more Paragon points and unlock new glyphs. Stay tuned for the upcoming class on glyphs and glyph sockets because, trust me, it's gonna be epic!
Now, who wants some cheese?
Comment for the Skull Throne
Great content. A couple of things. In your video you assume people understand terminology where that isn't true. For example with Glyphs you talk about how "Glyphs will cover nodes around it" but you don't explain what that means. Does that mean that you gain those overlapped nodes for free or does it mean you can't use them? Just a suggestion to be sure to not assume people understand concepts especially in a "101" type training video. Anyway, other than that, very helpful. Thanks as always.
where did you get access to those paragon boards
there are several datamine sites with skill builders including the paragons
lothrik.github.io/diablo4-build-calc/
Can you reset the paragon board if you change spec?
yes
Hey Don, Howdo you reset your paragon board doesnt show how in any vids
right click the nodes you want to remove, note you have to leave behind a viable path from the start
Hey Don, thank for the response I tried to line them up but it wont let me move down, says im breaking the nod link but i have everything lined up. If you got any tips let me know, thank you
So the paragon board just changes stat's it won't change the core skills effects like shoot two death rays or change the colour of a spell or look of a spell it's just math.
Im even more confused than I was before 😅
Could You sent link to good paragon calculator
unfortunately right now to get a full picture of paragon you kinda want to use 2 sites
one has really good layout for boards and actually has the board logic BUT doesnt have ruins and has some other inaccuracies in the gear part: d4planner.io/skilltree/Barbarian/
while the other has a lot of stuff its a lot less clear and the board logic is much more complicated: lothrik.github.io/diablo4-build-calc/
Since neither tool is 100% and kinda requires some trial and error to figure out, better to not include in the video/description for now
Do you level like normal after lvl 50?
yes however from level 50 forward you dont gain skill points, you gain a paragon point every 1/4 level
@@DonTheCrown so I still will get “exp” so I should see the new bar move eventually
@@BONEZ84 yup however if you're not in wt3+ that bars gonna be real slow.
this video must be published in coursera
commenting for algorithm
appreciate it!
Can go refund paragon points?
yes you can, cost is unknown at this point, likely just gold
I like your channel, but it sounds like you gave a plot spoiler at 6:03.😢
Only if you have zero idea who Lilith is at all which is quickly explained as exposition
@@DonTheCrown If you say so. I've only played in the server slam, and didn't even get to finish act 1, which was enough to know who lilith is, but not to hear the name you mentioned in the video.
Hold on! So am I supposed to believe there is no charcuterie board? I was led to believe there would be a charcuterie board. Why am I even buying this game then???
maybe the professor will share with you
Lol this is genius
glad you liked it
lets make DOn great on youtube
