- I found treasure metal detecting around an old house built during the mid 1700's. I searched the dirt basement, around the lawn, and in the pasture. I found lots of old coins and relics including a HUGE piece of silver!

Thanks Vic for the invite to this amazing property! :)

It sure was a blast. Hopefully I can make the Ohio trip with you guys. :)
yep acorn good hunting dude wish i could find a place like that .maybe one day
Looks like a happening spot dirtfishin. Love watching your videos. I am down for a ohio hunt . i live in dayton, we have a lot of old history here
JD's Variety Channel I hope you can, I know Joe and Adam want to meet you
Thats one of those houses that I see and say to myself "If I won the lottery and money was no object, I'd rebuild/renovate from top to bottom and use as much reclaimed beams, etc - would be so sweet if done properly.
That's a life goal right there. I'd for sure want the exterior as close to the original as possible, but the inside would be top of the line.
3 Merry Widows 😂😂😂😂😂 At least someone was being safe...
Or a hairbrush handle. A BEAUT !
This style ran well into the 20's and should have markings along the seam.
The one I found in three separate pieces, still had wooden bristle holder in the head.
Careful when cleaning these are NOT strongly joined.
Heaviest piece of silver I have dug so far.
It's too bad you couldn't have gotten to go inside that old house. I would have loved to see inside. Great video.
That little piece of lead you found in the basement is part of what I believe to be an old shipping container seal. They used them much like on a power meter box on the outside of a house to ensure someone hasn't tampered with the contents
I am a fan of you I came out Switzerland.Youre finds are great! I'm 13 years old.
Yep it looked like an acorn to me!!
,
,
Now your 16 lol waddupp
I watch you a good bit. I don't know your age but you strike me as a very smart young man. I am 68 yrs old and just started digging. Really enjoy it and watching your videos
great finds , and very good knowledge of history you have . wish you good luck from germany . i also detecting since 20 years . thank you very much for youre videos , mike
Your awesome man I just got my first metal detecter please keep making videos love em
It hurts my soul watching you rub those coins with all that dirt...
Yes, I wish they would carry a spray bottle of water.
I agree. Please get a spray bottle
Agreed! A little less blabbing and more detecting!
They all seem to rub them with gloves on and the dirt. Why? Why? Water 💦
I cringe every time!
American metal detecting videos:
-Wow! A 1956 penny!
European metal detecting videos:
-Just another hammered silver from the 1600's mehhh
here in Europe we throw use the 1956 coins in the stores or throw them away
We still have coins in Circulation of that age lol
All US coins carry value no matter the age
You just wish you could live here in the first world. Third worlders, psh unreal

You remind me of my dad that's what he did I don't even know if they had detectors back then in the 50s early 50s because he found all kinds of stuff I miss him so much he died at 52 years old 9 I was just 29 and I'm 16 now I miss him dearly but he really enjoyed going out finding things and he also was interested in rocks and would shine rocks and who just the wonderful man I really miss my dad dearly
Rip bro
When you are in the basement of the house that door behind you open by itself lol
Did you use a detector on the walls of the basement in case they had a hiding place?
That saw tooth thing on the floor is a sickle bar from a hay mower ,the peice you picked up with the rings on the end was a horse bridal mouth bit . The military item looks like a hat flash for an Officers hat .
Airdrop 1 yes that was an old grass cutter to bail hay with. It was a 2 piece set and they would move back and forth acting like scissors.
Old curb bit to be exact
i always enjoy your videos thank u for putting the time into making them
4:27 , that is a "slave tag" ,, easily the most valuable item found.
I inherited similar tags from my grandfather, they were dog tags.
The stuff that you found was really interesting. I'd love to have a peak into that old building though.
So would I. I am getting ready to buy a metal detector wish I had someone to metal detect with me
My husband Frank, whose acct I post on, had back surgery and can't walk a lot. I wonder what the inside of that house looks like! Patricia Gambino Harrington
Great finds! I love that hat badge. Found one just like it. That house was really cool looking. Even in its dilapidated condition.
24:30
Why would anyone be afraid to tell his audience he found an aluminum MERRY WIDOWS condom case from the 1920s or '30s??
How very odd.
t4705mb6 , he should’ve just thrown it in the trash if it was so abhorrent to him, no one would’ve known. Now it makes it weird.
I came here to say this, thank you! What a cool find.
He’s not running the risk of being demonetized. UA-cam has some strange rules and strange list of naughty words haha
Global rider , that’s a load of hoo ha, I’ve seen other detectorists finding the Merry Widow condom tins and have not been demonised over the mention of it at all. This is just a sheer case of him finding the word ‘ condom ‘ abhorrent to him. By him making that statement it makes the word condom, a little dirty in his eyes. Like I originally said, he would’ve been better to delete the finding of it altogether from his video clip and no one would’ve been none the wiser.
It's a sheep I testing comdom can.
I found the exact same Cap Pin 20:30 (Army Officer in WWII) metal detecting my backyard last week. Found with a Bounty Hunter Tracker IV.
Ice Plant great to read this-just got mine for Mother’s Day 2020
Acorn shell casing was a .22 cal blank...I recall they were sold in tins during 1960's early 70's...
Yep - RWS .22 Short CB & BB gallery loads.
Tear gas shell..
amp.reddit.com/r/guns/comments/3a3t9g/22_cal_chloroacetophenone_tear_gas_bullets/
Im not an expert in weapon my father has had a 22 cal gun in german 6 millimeter projektiles and a revolver brand arminius that use the acorn bullets and they are 4.5 millimeter projektiles
The acorn shell is what they call snake shot a miniature crimped shotgun 22 shell
The Merry Widows thing holds condoms 😂
No treasure here, just some old coins.
When you found that key, my mind went straight to Maniac Mansion.
I'm still waiting for the treasure you found in the basement....oh that was just to lure us into watching the entire video. Not very very nice of you...Most of us would have watched the entire video anyway.
That shell casing with the acorn is a .22 caliber BB cap. Shot a round ball out of .22 Cal. gun very quiet but not very powerful. Shot many of those as a kid in early 60's.
The thing you called landscaping border was the blade off a sickle mower.
Great finds! Yes, it looks like an acorn to me also.
That mirror handle is awesome ,cool design on it
Thanks! That was fun! I think you should have that silver mirror handle cleaned polished and made into a pendant for a necklace. Sweet it is..
Enjoyed watching great video
The short shell casing is from a starter pistol and is a blank used in athletic events. The small lead piece may be from an old roofing nail with a lead top over the steel to stop leaks.
Treasures are everywhere
I liked the video but it always makes me cringe when people grind their fingers over old coins with sand on them potentially hurting the value. But it’s your coin on your dig. You found some really cool stuff! Thanks for the video. Good Hunting!
We are cringe kin.
This stuff is so ancient but wait...I was alive in the 50's. :)
That sky was certainly worth capturing on video!
That acorn shell casing is a .22 tear gas cartridge typically fired from a .22 blank gun or a dedicated gas gun. My mother used to carry one. Most likely from the 60's or 70's.
We scoured that same basement in the se corner as legend said. Rumors said there was $ 254,000 buried in lead cans but there wasn’t
nearly that much when we completed our dig
Unforntunatly Metal detecting and digging Colonial, Fedral and Empire period Coins and artifact can be" nearly" impossible if you live in the Minneapolis, Minnesota metro area like I do.I've always wanted to detect and dig much older sites and farm fields in the eastern and southern Atlantic seaboard States like I see on your/ these great videos, and everything east of the Appalations ,BUT NOT ALL' is lost up here for me in the BoId North of Minnesota.I found my finds of a Life Time so far in 1994'95 and 1996 in the way of the Colonial, Fedral and Empire period artifacts kind and coins using my old USA made Bounty Hunter.Finding my first finds of silver washed pewter buttons/ all early American military with 13 stars, flat with soderd loop/circle shank in one small area along with round unfired lead musket balls and.grape shot all by chance during Improvements and new paths to Minnihaha falls Park a very OLD part of Minneapolis and. Ancient and sacred to the Native Americans, the falls of Minnehaha is a famous park and area which I so happened to live across from and 4 miles from Fort Snelling of 1820 and 2 miles from untouched Camp Cold Water of 1819 that was unseen and untouched in 1996 hidden behind fences and closed down opd Fedral building. This place is a natural spring that Coronal Snelling with a large military force of 500 + Men Officers there Wives childrenSkilled labour tools food goods spent the winter 1819 at Camp Cold Water that Minnesota in the 1890s built a beautiful memorial marking the spot were brave early Americans spent a winter outside in tents lean twos and stood against the British Army kept them from trying to control the Mississippi its Native psople and fur trade in a hostile dangerous wilder Ness all but forgotten and hidden away out of sight and off limits to none Fedral employment yup that's us lol.Well you guys get the idea that my house waz in between all this. Awesome history of the earliest Anglo near Colonial period presencel And the beautiful Indian Princess Hiawatha the one Longfellow wrote about, Minnehaha falls that year were a gold mine and Fort Snelling artifacts ECT by having a knowledge and love of history and Early Coins and artifacts believe it or not this Boy got a piece of New England Colonial plus bling rite here in Mpls outside my front door unbelievable
love the old finds, great video thanks :)
Please bring your show back! Fun!!!!
awesome finds JD mate 👍...shame about the mirror handle being broken that would he been a mega find complete ..still cool chunk of silver though
The small case with the acorn is a German made RWS CB cap, small low power .22 cartridge, also the item you discarded in the basement was a mouth bit for a horse. Well done.
Lovely!!
Good job kido and yes that is an acorn. Great finds.
Such a nerd. He makes me happy.
Banner 563 tag is a slave tag. Owners name and slave which was only known and recorded as a number! Amazing find!
the ammo w/ the acorn on it is made by dynamit nobel in germany in 22 cal. it is made for close in pest control costs about 30. bucks for a tin of 100 rounds -it is very quiet as it is only powered by a primer
What an awesome property to hunt! Sweet finds!
Thanks Zach! It was such a cool spot I didn't really care if I found anything. The few coins and nice relics were a bonus. :)
Wow! very cool, im sure that's a heck of a lot of fun, good job on video.
24:39 thats a piece of a metal corset busk, youd put the loops over the pins on the other side to close the corset
You scared me again climbing up on those bricks! But the location is great. Very interesting building.
Good video. That little "Acorn" cartridge is a .22 cal cartridge that I used to shoot flower pots with a very long time ago.Very low power .I dont think they make em any more but it was cool to see on your vid.
TREASURE!!!!!!!!
Beautiful sky line, nice place to search and cool relics you found!
Good job, brother. Keep up the good work. Yeah, I think it is an acorn.✌💞🏇🏇🏇
Impresionante vídeo amigo felicitaciones por los allacgos gracias por compartir un abrazo buenos días 👏👏👏👌👍👌
Your amazing JD
That piece with the two loops is a fragment of busk from a woman's corset.
that little piece of lead is from an old roofing nail. It was on the head and sealed the hole the nail made in a tin roof
bigdavesaltz
If you Google "old lead shipping container seal" I think that is what it is, thoughts?
I used to repair a tin roofed 100 year old house we owned with nails with a lead piece on the head like the tiny piece he found
Ok it just looked like it had an impression of an L on it and I've found ones that have had different letters on them
The acorn headstamp on the .22 cartridge is RWS ammunition. Rheinisch Westfalischen Sprengstoff (RWS). Cool relics.
Somebody else probably left this info (too many to read), but the Rimfire Shell with the Acorn Headstamp, was a high quality German Cartridge, made by: Rheinisch Westfalischen Sprengstoff (RWS) (now: Dynamit Nobel)!
I'd love to check a property like that. A great video.
Great video! You definitely found a trash pit/bottle dump in that cellar hole. There’s a 1700’s abandoned colonial I go to often. I’m definitely going to persevere next time and see if I find any neat relics in that cellar hole.. or at the least some intact bottles.
Epic permission, I think you only tickled slightly. I think you have to go back there, a really strong gut feeling for me. Loved what you found, really well done video. I think one of your best. Thanks for sharing your experience and for bringing me along.
Maybe some day we can give it another whirl. It appears to have been detected in the past too as the fields are rather quiet. We were there all day trying our best to find a colonial coin, but only some colonial buttons popped up. Didn't even put a dent in the trash pit however. Who knows what's down there. I was just happy to pull that silver piece out. Seems like the yard had fill dirt added sometime around the 1950's when the driveway was added. Thus the newer wheat pennies and WW2 relics.
Awesome hand mirror handle and always great finding the wheaties and the shield with eagle is so awesome! Say hi too Vic Tucker for me.
Definitely an acorn. Cool
At recorded time of 1326 you found a piece of metal down in the the mode up only the basement that is a bit that hooks on to a it's part of a halter for the horse it's what the reins hook on to sits in his mouth to steering with
I bought a metal detector and went pretty hard at it for month's and never found a thing. Short lived dream. But got exercise out of it at least.
A waste of time in America. No history, no class and no hope.
The Banner 563 piece looks like a miner's tag, usually issued to people who work underground.
Trey Bradley q
Doing a google search, it may even have been a slave tag
One day I was metal detecting my old house property and I found a very old lock. No, it’s not a very ancient one but it’s a little earlier than that.
Should have checked the brick walk way in the basement. someone could have dropped something between the bricks.
You found silver! And a big piece too! Fantastic!
realy cool finds
Dirt basements are very interest to hunt under. It feels much different than doing it outside. It almost feels like you aren’t even metal detecting.
I need to find more of these for when it's too hot to detect outside. =P
that eagle is a great find. well the hole video is great.
I’ve never seen a Hornet jar like that. Maybe that little fireplace was a smokehouse or an outdoor kitchen?
Hi hunters. Beautiful video's interesting
I think your flying saucer might be a meteorite. Love the video and the adventure. Do you mind if I ask where you are? I'm curious about the architecture. Like buildings are in my towna nd now that I have noticed them I see them most everywhere old towns are. Thanks, John
PS: that porcelain mason jar lid is awesome, I have never even heard of them before. So cool.
Than Banner 563 tag looks to be about the early to mid 1800's. I believe they where Slave tags back then, I googled it & didnt find the shape you have, they came in a diamond shape or a square with point at the top, That was more or less what I found on it except perhaps a reference to manufacturing tags. Who knows :)
Yep, that's an acorn on the shell casing. Made by RWS (Rheinisch Westfelischen Sprengstoff), it is a .22 "BB" or "CB" short rimfire cartridge casing with a dynamit nobel acorn head stamp. It could pre-date WWI.
I literally was like oh a doorbell...hmmm maybe not...then you echoed what I said almost exactly..love being on the same page! Good finds, that rusty thing is a horse bit, and that jaw bone is probably from wild scavenger, raccoon most likely
Fun hunt JD!
Its an acorn...wish you would have found the whole mirror.that way you could have said. "Show me the Beast"...nice video👍👍👍👍
Wow great hunt real showcase of a great hobby 👍 new sub here GL&HH steve 🇬🇧
Awesome footage!! Thank you
Wish you could have taken us a tour through that old house
JD, at about 13:30, that's a bit off a horse bridle. Back to the video..............
Yup. Sure is!
11:36 looks to me alike a light switch cover for a lever type lightswitch
Nick appreciates it.
The German firm RWS, still makes Flobert cartridges { a smal rimfire shell with a round or pointed bullet of 6mm ) these also have a Acorn on the shell bottom, so i guess it is one!!
The item at 24:40 is part of the front closure of a corset.
You should take a retractable rake with you to clean the junk lkike cans off the top.
round lead is probably the LED off of a nail head used to put metal roofs on. The LED sealed it so it didn't leak.
Michael Mounts nice beard.
you didn't show the treasure ? the key you found wasn't a skeleton key ,it was an invisible key . and a long day swinging means something entirely different in england LOL
I agree. What treasure??? I thought he was gonna find a "hoard" of coins or somthing. Misleading title.
The Banner Tag that you found, just might be a Slave Tag which would be Pre-Colonial War era.
1135. Goes around the dome lite switch on the old car. The earlier part looked like an old hub cap.
That house is cooool.
