I am a long-time enthusiast of Bose products. Recently I’ve switched from Bose QC II to Soundcore Space A40. Unlike Bose, they came with a multipoint connection, wireless charging, and better battery life, not to mention lightweight. Also, the price was ¼ of Bose and a smaller case.
I had a hard time deciding between the linkbuds s or wf-1000xm4, but it came down to size. I got the linkbuds s. The sound awesome and very comfortable.
I like how the charging circles on the earbuds are flushed it should make them easier to clean compared to bose quietcomfort for example which are deeper and need something small and pointy to clean
The beats earbuds only last a year or two. I got them for christmas at the end of 2021 and they start to now fall out easily and have bad nc, i’d recommend these over the beats
I just purchased these last night. They are renewed. I decided to go with the renewed version instead of paying the full price for the new version. I had a pair of wf-1000xm3. I really liked them. Unfortunately, I lost one of my earbuds, so I decided to get the Sony LinkBuds S. Will see how these renew version does.
For what it's worth I've had the LinkBuds S for about 2 weeks and very happy with them so far. Came from the WF-1000XM3s which, although they sounded great, were never that comfortable. So I wanted something smaller and lighter, which swayed me towards the LinkBuds over the XM4s. In terms of comfort they're light years ahead - can wear them for hours on end with no pain or fatigue at all. Having said that I wasn't exactly blown away by the sound quality at first. I always ran the XM3s with the EQ off as they just sounded right to me like that, and I did the same with the LinkBuds at first. They definitely sounded less 'alive'. But having played around with the EQ a bit I've got them to where they sound (at least to my ear) about 95% of the way there vs the XM3s, which is great. The only thing I have noticed is a weird and very pronounced cut in the high frequencies if I go above ~85% volume, but I almost never go that high, especially with ANC on, so it's fine for me. The ANC itself definitely isn't quite as strong as the XM3s, but it's good enough for commuting on a noisy bus/train/whatever. And the transparency mode I think is actually a bit better - more natural sounding. Haven't tried the mics yet and I suspect I won't be that impressed when I do, but that's not why I bought them, so no big deal for me.
(NOTE: LINKSBUDS S already got MultiPoint update, and XM4 not having it yet kinda sad) yep buy Linksbuds S instead, because i already buy both of them firstly i buy linksbuds s but i keep thinking xm4 and bought it too, but i instanly regret to buy xm4, everything is better for Linksbuds S, Comfortable, Sound, ANC, and more stable Connection with LDAC 990kbps even greater if u just use AAC (because more batterylife), the only downside is Batterylife shorter little bit compare xm4 but for me its just enough 6 hours constant ANC, the xm4 is just pain at the ear, and not perfectly fit in the ear (because of this the anc little bit compromise) im thinking to sell this XM4 because in my country there is no money back refund :(. (NOTE: u get higher chance get defect unit with xm4 rather than Linksbuds S) i hope u guys make the wise purchase, dont be like me...
I love to hear that they pushed an upgrade to add multi point access. Have they pushed an update that improves the call quality too? That's the only thing that has me hesitant.
People are more concerned with voice quality, Qi charging, transparency mode, if they’re good for workouts, etc. All except for how good they sound playing music. A lot of the companies are tuning down their bass and volume on a lot of their newer earbuds. Jabra , Sony and Beats are prime examples. Why are they doing that? Is it because the speaker they’re using can’t handle deep bass and lots of volume because they’ll begin to rattle? I’ve returned 4 earbuds because of this and I am still looking for a pair with enough bass and volume since 75t are no longer available new. The 2 sets of 75t I also returned because they were damaged even though they were sold as new. It’s a jungle in the world of earbuds.😖
I am in the position of finding new buds after my Jabra Elite 75T stopped charging and tried a lot of tips on youtube and internet but nothing seem to bring them back to life. Now that I have been spoiled with the deep bass on the Elite 75T, I am wondering which other headphones come close to that without compromising much on other sound. I feel like the Elite 75T had a rich bass (mind you I had to lower it a bit from EQ from default setting) but also an overall good sound, without compromising on mids and highs. Have you managed to compare Linkbuds S to the Elite 75T?
@@takumi7931 given that airpods pro are more pricy than linkbink s, then it's better to go with Sony. By the way what's your opinion on gen 2 overall, are they worth the money? Because I don't care much about Noise cancelling.

Sad about the pros becuz I also just returned my Buds2 last week because the x2 and x3 tap feature were a hit or miss when it came to its responsiveness. My Galaxy buds 1 are my best buds I've used to date. hoping these Sony ones will be better
Remember, it's Sony, it will go down in price, while it starts with the same price as the beats, it could go down to as low as $150 or even lower, and with LDAC as well as flagship ANC quality, that's a great value Although the lacks of wireless charging at this price range is a huge miss out

Nice review. I'm looking for an earbud that also works as noise reduction in a woodshop. Earbuds that market towards that market report a reduction in decibel rating of some amount. typically around 20 - 30 decibels. I haven't been able to find that for these. Do you know or know where I might be able to find that out. Thank You!
Design-wise, they look good. Based on your comments the sound quality is there, but that call quality seemed really bad. Based on that alone, I would pass on them.
Sony is going to need to do better with these buds. They need to have a better call quality. It is very disappointing to see a product by Sony to be so not up to par.
I want to use linkbuds s with my windows 7 laptop but someone told me I won't be able to pair them because they require A2DP technology which is not available in Windows 7 Is that correct??
I bought the Airpods Pro 2nd gen and i just HATE the fit. One ear just never fits right no matter what size ear tips i use. And thats insane to me. All sony earbuds i have bought in the past has NEVER given me fit problems. So i KNOW for a fact apple needs to work on there fit issues before i could recommend them. Maybe a year or two from now Airpods Pro will be good. And dont get me started on the Airpods Max. The maxs have HUGE design issues that are even worse then Airpods Pros. Let me just say, when apple makes Airpods Max with ventilation so that water droplets dont fill the speakers so that the speakers cut out and make horrible ghostly noises when the droplets fall on and down the actual internal speaker parts. Well yeah, all i will say is apple will learn and fix this issues, hopefully. But there totally not worth paying the big prices for these serious downfalls. Like i said, wait one or two more years and i think apple headphones and earbuds should be good to go.
Anyone seeing this comment: please don't buy Sony Linkbuds S. I was thinking that they are the great earbuds, based on review, but I have to say it is a piece of crap. Eveyone is saying that micrphone/call quality is top-notch, but it is actually the worst part of the earbuds. Immediately after starting the call, they automatically turn on Sidetone (like an ambient mode) and you can barely hear the other side due to wind/white noise + ambient sound around it. Interestigly enough, there is no SINGLE WORD about that from the reviewer. That makes them unsable in any environment except its own quiet room. It is imppossible to use them in train / open office / coffee shops / running...so please stay away from them and buy way better earbuds in the same price range: Nothing Ear 2 or Anker Libert 4 (4 NC) or similar price range Jabra models...

Like the sound and fit. Battery is mediocre, noise cancelling more of a noise generator. It's a huuuge step behind the top model. The app is a complete mess.
Voice calling was complete trash, Sony needs to go back to the drawing board and make an all round quality product without having its consumers break the bank.
Sony really trusts its fan base🤔, frankly releasing these earbuds at this price compared to the Airpods Pro which we regularly find around $179 max, 1More Evo at $130 currently and $130 Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro, seriously unless you have stock at Sony 🚶🏽♂️🚶🏽♂️🚶🏽♂️.
the ones you mentioned sound garbage compared to Sony. Xm4 is tuned similar to their IER lineup of wired in ears. They compete with sub 500 wired in ears SQ wise, not trashy wireless competitors
Stop promoting garbage products. Sony is a dying brand therefore limited/useless support. My purchased my Sony Linkbuds S in Germany and migrated to Canada. My battery died after 5-6 months and Sony support wants me to send them back to service centre in Germany
Naming them Linkbuds S does not make any sense whatsoever, though. It's quite irritating even as they have pretty much nothing to do with the original Linkbuds. Very weird. Other than that, bad voice quality, not very premium build and case, no wireless charging, slightly worse sound and ANC than the WF-1000XM4 + average battery life...for 200€/$...I wonder who these are for really. Tough sell. Maybe at 100€/$ but otherwise I don't really see the point of these.
Have used these for some days now. I put them in my ears around 10am and take them out around 4pm. Not sore, not falling out. Not in use all the time but I can leave them in while not using them. Quiet in noisy environments. Happy customer so far

I bit the bullet on these because I have small ears/ear canals and most buds hurt or don't fit right. With the XS tips and the fact that they are light weight, these are great for me personally. The only other wireless ones I have found that fit my ears well are the 1MORE ComfoBuds Mini Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling Earbuds.
David knows his stuff, always get great info from his reviews. Props to saying the full name every time too lol. Sony has to work on the naming, Linkbuds is good it looks like they are giving thought to naming now.
Mostly is, wired earpods are making a return due to some weird trend but they're still overshadowed by the wireless earbuds overall. They still have some like in the consumer market and alot left in the professional one tho

@@SuperJuvexxx Little late in responding but I really like my Wf-1000xm4s I just got a little over a month ago on a great sale. I decided to upgrade from the older 1000xm3 and these were a significant improvement for me when it came to the ANC, fit and a few other categories like a much more compact charging case. If you look online you'll see the wf-1000xm4s are on top / near the top of many review sites comparing various earbuds. But to answer your question I think a comparison between these two is pretty close and both are good earbuds from Sony which sound pretty similar but there's a difference in the battery life via 6 hours for the Linkbuds themselves then an extra 20 hours from their case, compared to the WF-1000XM4’s 8 hours and 24 hours respectively. The linkbuds also use silicone eartips which generally are more comfortable than foam eartips which are found with the 1000xm4 but there's a slight trade-off as foam one's are said to be better for ANC. The call quality is also said to be better for the Linkbuds in terms of rejecting background sound such as wind and your voice sounding a bit more clear. I don't think honestly you could go wrong with either, see if there's a better deal for one over another maybe and do keep in mind of course obviously at some point there will be a wf-1000xm5 surely.
@@ryancameron4170 thanks for the response, in the end i bought the Samsung Galaxy buds 2 pro, overall a great deal, probably the only field where they are inferior to the Sony Is in the ANC. Both are tremendous earphones, even tho the Sony are a Little bit more expensive 👍
I'm a proud owner of the 'old' _WF-1000XM3_ and, I'm so impressed with the noise canceling even on environments like planes, trains and noisy places still work very well. I only miss a model dedicated to sport and fitness sector which requires waterproofing and also sweating proof. The quality of sound is just OK but how others hear me in a call is just.. Maybe poor, need to improve a bit. The rest is just amazing and I just can't imagine what they will do in future versions.
They are low profile, easy to use, don’t fall out, sounds great, and doesn’t make you look like a tool.

You actually can use one or the other, you have to turn off your Google Assistant or Alexa assistant for it to work.
Black! Please.
Got them for $128
Nice! How much??
200$
Not worth it! I got some Chinese made knock off for $30 that work Great!
Do they have air pressure vents like the Airpods Pro? I am confused.
It look like jabra elite 75t
Like the sound and fit. Battery is mediocre, noise cancelling more of a noise generator. It's a huuuge step behind the top model. The app is a complete mess.
I'll agree with the cameraman on that one voice doesn't sound that good
disappointed with its voice call performance, as if phone's microphone is used instead. All background noise is audible to whoever with me on call !!
They don't sound good at all when you turn up the volume it gets muffled and toned out.
It seems you have a cold
S means silence
Voice calling was complete trash, Sony needs to go back to the drawing board and make an all round quality product without having its consumers break the bank.
Voice call quality is hot garbage
20 hrs total
they sounds horrible tbh
Only 6 hours and not 💯 waterproof 😱👎👎....
That mic tho 😷
Sony really trusts its fan base🤔, frankly releasing these earbuds at this price compared to the Airpods Pro which we regularly find around $179 max, 1More Evo at $130 currently and $130 Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro, seriously unless you have stock at Sony 🚶🏽♂️🚶🏽♂️🚶🏽♂️.
I agree - too expensive.
I mean they also discount their earbuds on their website from time to time so they should also be around 150$ in a while
the ones you mentioned sound garbage compared to Sony.
Voice is horrrrrrrrrible
Have to say, thats a horrible speaker!!!
Another sony trash that costs 200$.
1st comment :p
What
Have used these for some days now. I put them in my ears around 10am and take them out around 4pm. Not sore, not falling out. Not in use all the time but I can leave them in while not using them. Quiet in noisy environments. Happy customer so far
I m deciding, my first reason is abt comfortable.
@@nishasc1982 I'd probably recommend the 1000xm3 headphones unless you are looking for earbuds exclusively
Do you use them for work? If so can you comment on how good the mic is and multi point support?
@@786Kay786 I am told the mic is very clear. I am a dog walker and so am outside walking a lot. Can be windy too but not had any complaints. The touch thing works about 70% of the time. Sometimes it doesn't recognise the taps, sometimes it reacts to phantom taps. I only use that to start and stop what I'm listening to. I did use it to answer calls but now I look to see who is calling and answer on my watch, chatting on the phones. Still not figured out how best to clean them!
These vs the powerbeats pro? I go walking daily and powerlift. I like bass so, which ones should I choose? Or are there other earphones out there that are even better?
I usually use AirPods but these look really good, also it’s good to see Sony upping their game with the packaging and the name of their products.
tried them yesterday, XM4 is definitely better in terms of NC and Audio Quality, but they are very close. What makes them really good is the fit, they are really really small
how about the ambient sound, which is better?
@@johncruz5001 i can hear myself more clearly with the xm4 but the s are pretty natural
@@Zoranurai13 how’s the sound audio cuz I’m thinking getting the xm4 or buds s cuz I work out I like noise canceling so people don’t bug me while working out
5:52 Oof, that mic-test sounded really bad.
Wow! You had me until the phone call. Absolutely horrible. NEXT!
Never fall in love with a earphones so quickly. Bought it today and ANC activated I thought i went deaf
If these had Qi wireless charging they'd be perfect!
Which ones is better?
They are on sell now for $129..
They are amazing honestly! Totally worth the price and an absolute replacement to my ever impairing AirPods 2!
Hi, was wondering, can this earbuds can be used while sleeping? Will it get in the way if I sleep sideways?
I never use any buds for calls. Practically all are crap
David knows his stuff, always get great info from his reviews. Props to saying the full name every time too lol. Sony has to work on the naming, Linkbuds is good it looks like they are giving thought to naming now.
He knows his stuff except for sound quality where he is 100% clueless and barely mentions it. A shame when talking about earphones
You didn’t watch the full video.
@@davidcarnoy961 i watched the sound quality section, and « lackluster » would be high praise
You’re right. I’m crap at this. Gonna quit.
@@davidcarnoy961 you can't please everyone but I find your reviews great along with many others.
Great video. Thank you. I did find the music a bit distracting though.
paid 128 on amazon prime days yesteday.. sounds like i got a good deal, looking forward to trying them.
aw man I missed it!
do you guys believe wired earbuds are dead? in consumers market??
Mostly is, wired earpods are making a return due to some weird trend but they're still overshadowed by the wireless earbuds overall. They still have some like in the consumer market and alot left in the professional one tho
Sony c500 way better in terms of battery sound quality pluse price
I agree 👍 the clicking feeling feels easy too better than the sensor one, Just the on call disconnected is my issue that Sony didn't perfected yet, but it's okay it will reconnect by itself again to my device,
Hi res tracks are also avaialble on Apple Music (lossless 16bit and 24bit)
Great review. Thank you
Even a $50 bud case includes a battery meter and some have wireless charging. Seems like they cheaped out on somethings that should be included.
Sony Linkbuds S
Jabra elite 5
JBL Live PRO plus
What do u think? I will laughter sound with max 10mm driver and good anc. Equalizer setting too with app.
Which can you recommend? Thanks
Considering the WF-1000XM5 probably won't be released until late 2023, these seem like a great option if you want something smaller and lighter with almost the same features!
What they’re literally already releasing this month
@@irvinflores9394 you're talking about the WH-1000xm5 not the earbud variant WF
@@davestopa999 what would be better Between these linkbuds S and the sony wf-1000xm4?
Th xm4 is a big step up
@@55_Ski even on calls?
@@juanmcm i dont use it a lot for calling but in terms of sound quality and noise cancelation and autonomy its a huge step up
Xm3s sound fantastic. Not getting rid yet. Just replaced the batteries.
