I've tried this method on a few campaigns and every time, my dynamic creative where I add in 10 pieces of creative and at least 3 different status copy and headlines outperforms the 3:2:2 system. I even took all of my winning creatives, status copy, and headlines and built those out in the 3:2:2 system and it still underperformed my original ad set with 10 creatives.

Great stuff Charley!! I had a quick logistical question on the structure. Let's say you're running your multiple campaigns (DCT 1, DCT 2, etc.) and then you mentioned on other videos that you had a "winners" campaign. How to you practically migrate the winners from the DCT campaigns into the "winners" campaign bucket without jacking up the learning etc.? Are you literally duplicating the winning ads inside the DCT test campaigns into the winner campaign, or some other method? Would love the clarification - thank you!

I have an annual product, I use your 3-2-2 method and it works so well. This year I have made a new campaign for the same product for 2023 version. I don't know why I do this, I just do each year. Should I be using the same campaign as it's for the same product? Should I also be taking post ID of last years winning ad, putting it into a winners ad set, and make a new ad set with 2023's ads in Dynamic creative to see what Facebook decides to spend? Thanks so much!!

I would take the ads that won last year and make them my winning ads set post IDs.
If anything has significantly changed I would try to address those in new 3:2:2 tests
But I’d also let the existing ads run initially and perform a 4PI analysis on them
to understand what gap in the attention
      that I’m earning and buying
      I needed to address
so that my creative test solve business problems
and aren’t built around the silly idea
of trying to get lucky pulling lottery Tickets
so that I can make existing ads that work less effective

Minor question that is just out of curiosity.... I know descriptions aren't used but wouldn't having one or not having one not change the variable count? 3 x 2 x 2 is still the same as 3 x 2 x 2 x 1 after all. Is it the case that the description gets used elsewhere, say in the place of a headline? More asking for mechanics here because I'll often see this happen with other dynamic creative elements (e.g. headline showing under main text).

I'm facing this sometimes, where a 3:2:2 DCT should list 12 differente posts sometimes only list 8-9 of them. If so, have you encounted another way to get the ID of a particular combination that isn't listed there? Thank you for all you contribution.

Just a quick question, when you say the DCT is either solving a new problem or improving existing ads, if imprpoving, would you stop running the current iteration in the 'winners' ad set when trying to improve in the DCT? or would you just see if the budget steers towards a different creative in the DCT even when competing with the original in the DCT and winners ad set. thanks in advance.

If I was trying to test out an e commerce product and follow this model, what kind of budget do you recommend setting, and how long should I run it for? 30-60 days? $100per day budget? Also, I see in your other videos you say to only run 1 or 2 ad sets with 2-3 dynamic ads. Should I be testing fewer high quality ads (like 1 or 2 ads) in a CBO?

    • @CTtheDisrupter
      @CTtheDisrupter  Рік тому +3

I'm glad to hear that you're finding my videos helpful! Let's address your questions about budget and duration for testing an e-commerce product using the recommended model.
      1. Budget: The budget you should allocate for your testing phase will depend on your specific circumstances, such as your financial resources and risk tolerance. However, there is no fixed minimum or maximum budget as it can vary greatly depending on your goals and the competitiveness of your market.
In general, I recommend starting with a conservative budget that allows for meaningful data collection. A good starting point could be around $100 per day, but please note that this is just a suggestion and you can adjust it based on your own budgetary constraints.
      2. Duration: The duration of your testing phase will depend on several factors, including your budget, the speed at which your campaign generates data, and the number of variations you are testing. While it's tempting to rush the process, it's important to allow enough time for meaningful results.
Testing duration typically ranges from 2 to 4 weeks, but it can take even longer depending on the complexity of your product and audience. Keep in mind that it's essential to gather a sufficient amount of data to make reliable decisions.
As for the number of ad sets and ads to test, I recommend following the 3:2:2 method. This means testing three different creatives, two headline variations, and two text variations. Running these in a Campaign Budget Optimization (CBO) campaign can provide you with valuable insights on which combinations perform best.
Remember, the key is to focus on testing a reasonable number of high-quality variations rather than overwhelming yourself with too many options.
I hope this guidance helps! If you have any further questions or need more clarity, please let me know.

The question is, how long until that turns around to be positive business results for you…
I would have to know how far away from success you currently are and what your timeline is so

@@CTtheDisrupter Thanks for responding 💪What is CharleyBot? I'm not really familiar with all of this just yet lol.
Makes sense when you put it like that. The thing is, I tired to mimick a store that was doing pretty good numbers. So I wanted to do everything they were doing but I just wanted to make mine a little better. (Better videos, similar ad copy/headlines, better customer experience overall).
But I noticed that all of my metrics were horrible. I wanted to go broad and let facebook find the right ppl. With this particular product, it would ideally be for new mothers. I had professional content made for the videos, put it all in an ad, and facebook started showing it to ppl 65+ years old right out the gate lol. The majority of my impressions where from old ppl haha. The CPM was around $15 after about $50 of ad spend. But the metrics in general were horrible. So then I wanted to narrow it a little bit with the age, women, and location (still broad, no detailed targeting), and the CPM's went thru the roof.... Like $45-$50 CPM.
I wasn't getting that many clicks to my store, wasn't getting much engagement on the ad, etc. At this point, I'm just beginning to think that this product just isn't gonna work for me and I may need to change it up lol. I don't mind testing out new products and such, but I just want to have a strategy that will rule out what's working and what's not. Like if I have a high converting store, ads are set up correctly, but the product don't sell... Then it's probably the product, right?
I'm having trouble knowing if my ads are really the problem or if its something else... I really think it's either the ads or I just need to find a new product lol. I really don't know how to go about it in the best way possible. Everyone has their own ways/strategies of finding what works for them. I want to follow your ways tho; it seems like you know your shit when it comes to these ads lol.

Hi again Charley, just wanted to ask another question: So assuming we have no winning ads yet and we launch a new DCT campaign, at which point are we killing these ads if they're not generating any profit yet? Should we wait a few days and just keep going, or if lets say after a day we haven't even got 1 sale at $100/day, should we kill it and remake a new DCT test? Thanks!

    • @CTtheDisrupter
      @CTtheDisrupter  Рік тому

When it comes to evaluating the performance of your ads in a Dynamic Creative Testing (DCT) campaign, it's important to give them enough time to gather meaningful data before making a decision. Rushing to kill ads after just one day may not provide you with an accurate assessment of their performance.
Typically, I recommend letting your ads run for at least a few days to allow the Facebook algorithm to optimize and gather sufficient data.
It's important to focus on key metrics like your Blended Cost Per Acquisition (CPA) rather than solely looking at sales. Keep in mind that not all conversions happen immediately, and some customers may need more time to make a purchase decision.
If after a few days you haven't seen any positive results and the ads are consistently underperforming, it may be worth considering making adjustments or trying different variations within your DCT campaign. You can use the 4PI analysis (CPM, Spend, Frequency, Efficiency) to assess the performance of your ads and determine if they are meeting your goals.
Remember, testing and refining your ads is an ongoing process, and it's normal to have some ads that don't generate immediate profitability. The key is to gather data, learn from the results, and make iterative improvements to optimize your campaigns over time.
I hope this helps! If you have any more questions or need further clarification, please let me know.
