    i think the leica CL is an amazing camera
    slightly to expensive in my opinion but i think leica is going in the right direction with this camera

    Thank you for sharing your CL experience. Both CL and TL2 are great little cameras. I went for the TL2 because of the price difference and the difference in design. Still enjoy the 23mm and 18mm T native lenses. I would like to add that CL has one more advantage over TL2. Whilst its siblings CL and SL support the "exposure preview" on/off selection, it is not the case with TL2. This means TL2 can fire any manual flash but you will not be able to see what you are shooting when you set the A/S/ISO to match your manual flash's power. If you want the pleasure of looking and focusing on what you are shooting, you will have to pay for those very expensive Leica labelled flashes (like Leica SF40). Leica don't make flashes themselves. Leica SF40 is a Chinese made Nissin i40 with add on Leica TTL circuitry. The former is selling at £380 and the latter £78 in the UK. TTL flashs are usually quite unpredictable. Leica TTL is definitely unique and bring the unpredictability to a different level. Paying £300 more for a feature that I don't need or use is heartbreaking. Come on Leica, please update your TL2 firmware and add that exposure preview on/off switch to this beautifully designed TL2 camera. In the mean time, I'll save up and upgrade to a CL.or perhaps a Sony A1.

    Every time I pick mine up my thumb touches the 4-way pad and moves the AF rectangle away from where I left it in screen center, and it ends up in the screen top right hand corner !

    I believe I read that Leica does not provide or make a lens shade for the Elmarit-TL 18mm. If true, can y'all suggest a good alternative?

    I have set my Leica CL on manual exposure and shutter speed and I find it a breeze to work with. Straight forward picture taking with accurate and reliable focussing. No bullshit features, no gimmicks just excellent image quality. Great for street and travel. Like the TL lenses too and - yes - too expensive. Bummer.

    Leica CL is probably very good for street photography. How long does it take to be ready to make photos when turning on the power?

    • @mattisulanto

      It's fast, but I did not time it.

    Silver body when will release? Should I get black or silver lens?
    Hope to get this as my first camera!

    • @mattisulanto
      @mattisulanto  6 років тому

      I have no idea about the future Leica products, but they are known for special editions, so there could well be a silver CL some day.

    • @NetvoTV
      @NetvoTV 6 років тому

      sulantoblog I hope it won’t be a special edition but a new color option just like Q, better yet, release in the same time as black like M10 and TL2!

    will the Sigma 16 and 30 and 56 mm work on the CL ?

    • @mattisulanto
      @mattisulanto  3 роки тому

      As far as I know, all L mount lenses will work. You may want to confirm this from another source as well, like Leica web site.

    @1:12 so hard to see the edges of the frame. What do you mean by that statement? What frame? You mentioned this in regards to glasses and I wear glasses but are you saying the frame of the glasses or the frame of the picture or the frame of the body of the camera? Edges of the frame - I have no idea what that means as I can look in many VF and see all of the picture in a VF - can you elaborate on that statement. Are you basically saying you can't see the entire picture before and after taking a photo in the viewfinder with glasses on? Also does the CL have an adjustable eyesight focus for glasses and non-glasses?

    • @mattisulanto
      @mattisulanto  6 років тому +2

      I'm sorry if I was not clear here. I thought it's obvious I'm talking about the edges of the picture in the viewfinder. I don't know about you, but I don't need to see the edges of the frame of my (in your case it would be your glasses, if you wear glasses) glasses nor the edges of the camera body while taking a picture.
      I find most viewfinders too tight and in order to see the whole picture in the viewfinder, I have to move my eye and peer towards the corners. That's wearing my glasses, of course. You should be happy, if you have no problem with this.
      There is a diopter adjustment, if that's what you mean.

    Cl182.8 vs Q what do you think ??

    • @mattisulanto
      @mattisulanto  5 років тому

      They are two very different cameras, but I'd take the Q, because I'm happy with just one lens.

      Probably M10 + 35 mm Summicron, but those two cameras are very different and therefore hard to compare.
