Loki is one of the most interesting characters because he is so unpredictable. We want to like him but you can never be sure what his intentions are. It makes him so watchable, not to mention Tom Hiddleston's amazing performance!

Love this movie. The look on Thor's face while he waited for Mjolnir. Fun fact: Mjolnir disguised as an umbrella is a callback to the early comics when it was a wooden walking stick. I liked the fact they combined Planet Hulk with this movie.

    Noticed something about Odin?
Odin raised Hela to be a fighter..Later Disappointed when she didn't stop fighting. Then he locked her away
Odin raised Thor as the favorite child and spoiled him. Later Disappointed when he ended up being spoiled. Then he cast Thor out.
Odin raised Loki as an outcast, teaching him about Frost Giants like they are monsters, hid from him his actual parentage for 1000+ years. Later Disappointed when Loki ended up being the way he is.
Not to mention...He raised Thor and Loki saying "Well there can only be one king but u were both born to rule" bs which made Loki so competitive for the throne that Odin ended up giving Thor(The spoiled, reckless idiot) over Loki(The tactical, smart one)..Then he is so disappointed at Loki..
Then he finally revealed to Thor and Loki that he had another child who is gonna destroy everything, then he peaced out.
He was better off without kids honestly cause he is terrible at raising them.

Another great reaction, Cristy! This is my favorite of the Thor movies, a nearly perfect mix of action and comedy.
Yes, Odin died. In the MCU, Asgardians (and other races of Norse mythology) have very long lifespans compared to humans, but aren't truly immortal. They live for approximately 5000 years in the MCU, that was Odin's age when he passed on. Both Hela and Valkyrie were younger than Odin but older than Thor, who is currently 1500 years old. That's equivalent to a human being in their early 30s.

The woman who sacrificed herself to save Valkyrie was her girlfriend. Valkyrie and Odin are the same age. The reason Odin deed is because without his power he ate like a normal human which isn't bad unless you're over 5,000 years old like Odin for a year and a half added to that was fatal. The grandmaster with the collector are the elders of the universe and they are brother's. M'jolnir and the casket of eternal winter what was the weapon the frost Giants used in the first movie Thor film both weapons are living life forms which are capable of destroying planets. Hela was able to destroy the hammer not just because she's powerful but she was the true wielder of the hammer. Hela in the MCU is Thor's half sister but in the comic books she is Loki daughter.

This isn’t a spoiler, but an anti-spoiler, which the filmmakers gave to the audiences. Before the release of Infinity War, the filmmakers made a point to announce that “anything could happen” in the final Avengers films, and no character was safe. You may know that MCU films and series after Endgame have featured various characters from the series, but know that some of these post-Endgame films/series may be set in either a time prior to Infinity War, or an alternate dimension. The filmmakers’ preface holds for going into the final Avengers films: Anything can happen.

Potentially amusing useless fact: In the comics, Thor once beat the snot out of Iron Man over a strand of his hair. Tony picked it off a sofa in Avengers Mansion back when the team first formed, and when Thor was presumed dead Tony and Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four attempted to clone him from the strand. The clone, presented to the public as Thor himself, promptly went off the rails and killed someone without provocation. When the true Thor returned, he was not happy about any of this and left Tony dragging his disabled armor down an Arizona highway. The clone ultimately took the name Ragnarok.

A lot of people miss the point of what has happened with the Hulk. For the first time in his existence (and throughout the current MCU), the Hulk actually has a life. He has friends and a life where he is admired and respected. It's a total departure from the his "life" on Earth.
Up until now, his only purpose was to save "Banner" during a crisis or be used as a blunt instrument to help fight Avengers enemies. The minute the problem is solved, the Hulk is "put away" and forgotten until they need him again.
The Hulk and Banner are separate people sharing an existence, but Banner is the only one who has a life. After having and enjoying a life on Sakaar, it's suddenly ripped away from him again when circumstances cause Banner to return and the Hulk to be shelved. It's enough to make the Hulk start to resent Banner and not want to help when "called".

This movie has a different tone from the first two, and that will play into the fourth movie when you watch it.
The narrator at the beginning sets the tone of the movie. The first two were narrated by Odin. They had a serious and "kingly" tone.
Ragnarok was narrated by Thor, and he's telling it in retrospect to all of the survivors. Hence the levity he's trying to bring to the group after the tragedy. He's trying to be the leader that his people need in the dark times.
Love and Thunder is narrated by Korg, Thor's Stone friend from the planet Hulk was hiding on. You'll see the absolute difference when you watch Thor: Love and Thunder.

I can't imagine what it's like editing a video, especially when watching a movie for the first time. And the other thing, all movies are subjective...but definitely work on editing a little bit better. I think there's some moments you could leave out and other moments you leaving on the cutting room floor. I don't mean to bash ya, just trying to give some feedback. Also I bet you've gotten busy but I highly recommend to look at your comments on the spiderman reaction, lots of people left Great advice on how to proceed through the MCU and I would recommend to not miss out on the advice.
P.s. in case you didn't know, The director of this film did the motion capture for Korg. Also Korg lost his revolution because he didn't print enough paper 😂. It's the good old play on rock vs paper

This movie was inspired by two different storyline in the comic books one being Ragnarok which is the apocalypse of Asgard and planet Hulk. In planet hope a group of heroes send Hulk of planet because he's too dangerous he crash lands on the planet sakaar where is ruled by the Red King. Hulk put into the contest of champions overthrow the king and becomes ruler until tragedy strikes and his wife and child die then then he come back to earth and for revenge and kills all of Earth's heroes. Thor thinks the Hulk has only been gone for 2 years but time works differently on the planet saakar so from the hulk's perspective is 6 years which is how he's able to speak normally and not constantly be a rage monster. Bruce and the Hulk are separate beings the Hulk is like a life force of the universe similar to gravity only to be confined in the body of a mortal. Bruce is a man who created a weather machine in in the center of Bruce is a man who created a weather machine where he's sits in the center of it and everything around him either gets destroyed or damaged in the wake of the pressure.

Also, there's a brilliant out-take you'll find on UA-cam. This movie was filmed around the same time as Guardians 2, and during the scene where Hela orders Skurge to execute one of the Asgardians, Michael Rooker turns up in costume and character as Yondu. Look it up, you'll love it!

The box office numbers and the masses of people posting their personal rankings of the phase 1-3 MCU movies showed that a huge majority of movie fans loved Ragnarok. There was a small percentage that felt Taika Waitit, the director and also actor behind Korg, got a little too silly with it, but most of us felt the humor to non-humor was well balanced. The same can not be said for Thor 4, Love and Blunder. Everyone I talked to, myself included, felt like Taika went ham with the silliness and we felt like he ruined it with way too much humor.
Some of the movies in the franchise got more money than they deserved, I feel, because they immediately followed one of the mega hits and fans were expecting the same level of quality. Love and Thunder was one of those, following the greatness of Ragnarok and Infinity War and Endgame, people had high hopes.
Next we have two of the biggest most successful movies of the whole franchise in Black Panther and Infinity War. The trio of Ragnarok, Black Panther and Infinity War are a true treat, because they're three awesome movies back to back to back.

It's weird. Surtur can beat Hela, but Thor can beat Surtur, but not Hela.

      @bradleybradley4363 Рік тому +1

Thor could beat Surtur as he was at the beginning of the movie.
But after Surtur’s crown was placed in the eternal flame, no one could stop him. Not Hela, not Loki, not Thor. No one.

Did you catch the joke after being made of scissors? Funny that Korg failed his revolution because he didn't have enough paper. Paper wraps rock in the Rock Paper Scissors game

11:29 - I can't remember which movie it was, but Odin insisted that they weren't ACTUAL gods. Just long-lived and powerful.
    12:57 - That was a good one. 😆
16:07 - Between the Grandmaster and the Collector, I was very disappointed. They're supposed to be extremely powerful cosmic beings. Instead, the Collector was reduced to an eccentric character and the Grandmaster was reduced to comic relief. 😠
    18:56 - GREAT reference! ♥
21:02 - Once rules were established, the Grandmaster wouldn't break them. This clown is cheating, and I hate that they made it a character trait for him. 😠
21:49 - If you like that, you should see Alan Ritchson in "Reacher." He was massive for Season 1, but put on another 30 pounds of muscle for Season 2. The man's an absolute BEAST! (You should watch it. It's a great show. 😊)
24:31 - "Point Break" is a action/crime film starring Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, which includes long-haired surfers as part of the story, hence what Tony Stark called him when they first met.
    25:57 - I was shocked they'd call it that in a movie that's technically a Disney movie.
28:39 - That's supposed to be Fenrir. In Norse mythology, he's one of Loki's children. Here, he's just a big wolf/dog/thing.
Glad you had fun watching, and I hope my "essay" wasn't too much, but this is usually the kind of comment I leave, time stamps and all. 😊

The focus on comic relief on the later films kinda gets to me. I laugh, and I do still love the films, but I think directors like Taika leaned too heavily on silly jokes and comedy. And I won’t say too much as to avoid spoiling it, but they definitely nerfed Hulk too much as the films went on as well.
I understand these are just comic characters, I understand the need to make them appeal to such a broad audience. But some of the choices could have been made better, in my humble opinion.

Thank you for another enjoyable reaction video. However, one thing.. Hulk is not a monster, he is the complete antithesis of Bruce Banner. Where Banner is weak, even for a human, Hulk has nearly limitless strength. Where Banner is very calm and even tempered. The hulk 's rage knows no bounds,. And where Banner is one of the smartest people on the planet, Hulk is simple minded and childlike in his way of thinking. The MCU has had a difficult time portraying Hulk properly..

Thor is a actually a God from Nors Mythology. Thor is the God of thunder, strength, fortility etc.

This is a fun movie... that started the slow MCU collapse by initiating the formula of undermining the protagonist for cheap laughs that quickly became misused and overused in subsequent films.

Odin being a god, is..... Well, basically let's just say that that doesn't have to equal immortal. Technically it's more correct to say he's an Asgardian rather than a god. Asgardians were worshipped as gods by earthlings/midgardians. More technically they'd be aliens. Super powerful yes. Very long lived. But they can die and eventually do. But we're talking thousands of years (or killed by something also extremely powerful). Even in the original Norse myths that had them as gods, still had a myth (Ragnarok as the title) where the gods would eventually all die. So even in the myths that considered them gods rather than powerful aliens as they are in the MCU, they could still die.

When I first saw it, I didn't like it. It was a great movie but it was too jokey at parts where I felt like it needed to be serious. I did an MCU Rewatch for this Infinity Saga (Iron Man to Spiderman Far From Home) and it was better a second time. Still wish it was more serious though.
Also in the rewatch I feel it's better for Black Panther to come before Ragnarock just because of the way this ends.

the thing about thor and his people being gods, they are kind of not, they never mention it directly but they taunt us, in thor 1, when thor says we should wage war on jotunheim, his friend says this is not earth that we show them some lightning and they worship us as gods(pointing they are not gods).
In thor 2, when loki says odin he went to rule earth like their god he replies we are not gods we are born, live, and die just like humans, for loki replies just we live for 5000 yrs.(again pointing they are not gods)
I will say they are just beings with extraordinary powers😁😁.
And the thing about odin as father, odin was a bad person at his good times, but then he changed to which Hela didn't agree hence the banishment (if you saw kung fu panda 3 it also has the same premise)😁😁
