I love the fact that the line, “We know each other, he’s a friend from work!” Was a line that Chris Hemsworth used because a Make-A-Wish kid had asked him to say it.
I think Odin didn’t tell them or plan for Hela’s return because he was ashamed of his past and to do either meant he had to confront something he wanted buried
My theory is after Frigga was killed by the Dark Elves, a combination of grief and lack of his wife's care (she knew magic) put Odin on a downward spiral. That made it easier for Loki to overcome him. Since Hela drew strength from Asgard, it is likely Odin did too. Being confined on Earth sapped his strength, and the effort to keep Hela imprisoned finished him off.
Skurge is eomer in the two towers and return of the king. Good job seeing that. He looks so different in this movie and it’s nearly 20 years later. Haha love the reaction. Love this movie.
There are a lot of them in this movie: "Let's do 'Get Help'." "I have been falling for thirty minutes!" "Hey man. We're going to jump on that space ship and get out of here. Wanna come?" "I don't drink tea." "Big monster."
Hela blades are necro blades which are formed using hell dimension which he has unlimited access to. Interesting fact the dark elf from the Thor dark world movie also use necro weapons like that black hole grenade. Something also to note about Hela she was the original owner m'jolnir so whether she was worthy of the hammer doesn't mean anything.
They were wrong in the movie. Odin is stronger than Thor. Thanos waited for Odin, Hella, and Surter to die before launching his assault on everyone. He knew how powerful they were.
With THOR & HULK my favorite comics, back in the mid to late 60's & into the 70's, I am partial to this movie! IMO it's the best single movie Marvel ever made! Once you get over the fact that it's a comic book, it's funny, entertaining, great action, smart script, & many various actors in key roles!
According to Wikipedia, Valkyrie's name in the books is Brunnhilde, and her Pegasus is named Aragorn. The character is apparently based on a Norse mythological figure called Brynhildr. Hail Google.
Ahhhhh, I'm so happy to see you watching this movie and other marvel projects. Came for Supernatural, will stay for all the other good times. Can't wait until you get to Wandavision and the Loki series, which is one of the best marvel projects ever. You're gonna have so much fun.
There are some interesting facts about Thor Ragnarok. This movie is inspired by two main comic book storyline the Ragnarok event and planet Hulk. The actor who plays Korg in also the movies director. Hela in the comic book is Loki's daughter but in the MCU she Thor's half-sister. Thor's mother Frigga Hela and Valkyrie all around the same age. The reason Valkyrie doesn't look their age is because she spent most of her time on the planet saakar which ages people differently. For example Hulk seem like he only been on the planet for 2 years but it was a lot longer that's how he learned to speak normally. Bruce and the Hulk are two separate identities. Bruce figured out he had more control over the hulk's body if he triggered the transformation. The Hulk figured out how to remain in control without being enraged all the time. Thor defeated a weekend surtur. When Odin defeated surtur he us the space Stone while Hela stole the source of his power the eternal flame an odin and barely beat surtur then. The grandmaster is one of the elders of the universe with his brother The collector.
i like that Karl Urban didnt change his billy butcher accent from skurges accent 🤣 Matt Damon, Sam Neil and Luke Hemsworth in the play 🤣 i cant believe you reminded me of that kiwi whale video evie!
They never say this Valkyrie's name in the MCU, but her name is Rūna. Rūna is --A-- Valkyrie. One of the Valkyrior - the team of Valkyries. Rūna is a member of the PREVIOUS team of Valkyries who originally served Bor (Odin's father). It seems that Hela wiped her team out, and then the team of Valkyries that Thor idolized was a second more recent team. But --THE-- Valkyrie from the comics is Brunnhilde. She's the leader of the modern Valkyries who serve Odin. Val/Brunnhilde is almost certainly meant to be the blonde Valkyrie who we see sacrifice herself to save Rūna's life in this movie, which really REALLY sucks, since Val is one of my favorite characters and I was waiting for AGES to see her in the MCU.
"What happened to her, man?" In her memory scene, they all get massacred by Hela, so that's pretty traumatic. But also a blonde Valkyrie sacrifices herself to save her. In another flashback scene that didn't survive the editing process it was shown that those two had been in a relationship, so that would have made it even more traumatic.
Evie, the guy made of rocks is named Korg, i saw a book in the 1980s at school? maybe from a book order form, if you ever had those at school, and the name of the book was Korg and the letters of Korg were made to look like they were made of stone, i never read the book, but do you think it was about that marvel character? by the 1980s marvel comics had been around for almost 25 years, and had alot of time to come up with hundreds if not thousands of different characters . and that book might have been about one of them?
There is no Hela in ancient Nordic religious mythology. Her name is Hel and she is the queen of the afterlife realm of Hel, or hell in Christianity. So lets get this straight. Thor is no human Super hero, but a God or an Alien if you wish. A fun fact, Thursday is actually also named after Nordic Mythology, with Thursday meaning "Thor's Day" and coincidentally, Chris Hemsworth was actually born on a Thursday (Thor's Day).
Hi Ms Evie I'm a new subscriber and I can relate how you feel in every movie reactions. I felt emotional when some scene you watch you she'd in tears. Can't wait to see your next reaction to Avengers Endgame😊
I can't wait for the next Thor movie. Best one! (Dont mind the loud few who would say otherwise and refuse to let anyone enjoy things they themselves dont.)
You're so adorable throughout this whole reaction. It just seemed to fit real well with what you like (humor, badass hot sister, buff shorthair Thor) and you thrived reacting to it. Fun movie (didn't like it at all at first), fun and witty reaction, and a good edit makes it all work very well.
“The female version of Loki” lol & you seriously asking if she needs to pick up her swords. Does she basically have unlimited power? Odin literally answered those questions before he died, yes she draws her power from Asgard & once she gets there? Her power will be near limitless , not tryna be a dick but the movie already told you & this one isn’t your fault but no Valkyrie didn’t check to see if Thor was a man, she already knew who he was
It's always bothered me that the God of Thunder (and Lightning) is stopped by a little electrical taser. Hard to imagine that the thing he is the god of is able to bring him down.
Korg’s revolution failed because he didn’t print enough pamphlets……since you know, paper beats rock 😂 Don’t worry though….you don’t have to be afraid of him unless you’re made of scissors.
That's not how advanced degrees work. They are awarded by universities in different fields. So Banner might have gotten one in physics and another in biology, but from different schools. But then the MCU isn't *our* universe, and degrees might work differently there.
This is without a doubt my favorite reaction of all time. LOL I've never had so much fun watching someone watch a movie. Your sense of humor totally elevated the reactions.
I highly recommend reacting to the Saban's Power Rangers Movie from 2017. staring Ludi Lin who played Liu Kang in live-action Mortal Komat , Dacre Montgomery who played Billy in stranger things, Naomi Scott who played Jasmine in the live-action Aladdin movie, Bryan Cranston who played Walter White in Breaking Bad, and Elisabeth Banks who played Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games. pleasee
I know these are filmed well in advance, and she's in Canada, but that sweater was distracting me so much. The heat index is near 100 here in Florida so I've been sweating all day. 🥵
Hey, Evie! This is the movie that infantilized the Hulk, made a mockery of Thor, unceremoniously butchered the Warriors Three, completely forgot about Sif, race-bent Valkyrie from a 6'4" statuesque blonde into a 5' chubby black chick and turned the destruction of Asgard into a punchline! If it weren't for the support of Cate Blanchett, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Karl Urban, Jeff Goldblum, Benedict Cumberbatch and Led Zeppelin, this movie would have been unwatchable. Normies and nooblers LOVE "Thor: Ragnarok" but the comic cognoscenti saw all the red flags and wept at what could have been. "Planet Hulk" is arguably the greatest Hulk tale ever and "Ragnarok" is an epic Thor event but both seminal stories get the smug Taika Waititi slapdash yuck-'em-up treatment. The beginning of the end of the MCU's glory days. Skurge the Executioner's redemptive sacrifice armed with two M-16s defending the Gjallerbru bridge from Hela's hordes is one of the great moments of the Walt Simonson run of "Thor" comics from issue 362. "And though the Executioner stands alone and the warriors of Hel seem numberless...not one sets foot upon the bridge across the river Gjoll. They sing no songs in Hel nor do they celebrate heroes for silent is that dismal realm and cheerless but the story of the Gjallerbru and the god who defended it is whispered across the Nine Worlds. And when a new arrival asks about the one to whom even Hela bows her head the answer is always the same...he stood alone at Gjallerbru... and that answer is enough."
God, I'm so sick of all you anti-woke crybabies throwing the same tiresome, predictable online tantrums every single day because your bigoted worldview is so fragile that anything even remotely open-minded triggers you into a pile of soft, quivering snowflakes.
I love the fact that the line, “We know each other, he’s a friend from work!” Was a line that Chris Hemsworth used because a Make-A-Wish kid had asked him to say it.
That kid was a LEGEND
It's a great piece of lore, and it's great that it's made history :')
5:25 the actor playing Thor in the play is Luke Hemsworth the brother of Chris Hemsworth.
The girl that wanted to take the picture with him was his cousin
The voice of Korg is Taika Waititi, who directed the movie
definitely the same NZ region accent as the beached as meme. So funny
She probably recognized his voice because he played Hitler in JoJo Rabbit.
He was okay in this. But love and thunder.... ehhhhhhhh
@@LeethLee1 fun fact: that meme was made by Australians, trying to mock the nz accent.
Is he Hawaïan? Polynesian? Or any Austronesia speaking people?
"... and the Goddess of Death."
"That's a big resume."
Just fell in love with your expression when you saw the HULK reappear.
I think Odin didn’t tell them or plan for Hela’s return because he was ashamed of his past and to do either meant he had to confront something he wanted buried
Bullseye

Oh my poor innocent sweet child
Skurge is eomer in the two towers and return of the king. Good job seeing that. He looks so different in this movie and it’s nearly 20 years later. Haha love the reaction. Love this movie.
Karl Urban plays Skurge in this and Eomer in "Lord of the Rings", and Leonard Bones McCoy in "Star Trek".
And butcher in the boys and judge dred.
Some movies can be remembered by their more notable quote.
"He's a friend from work!" Everybody knows that one.
There are a lot of them in this movie:
"Let's do 'Get Help'."
"I have been falling for thirty minutes!"
"Hey man. We're going to jump on that space ship and get out of here. Wanna come?"
"I don't drink tea."
"Big monster."
Yes, Karl Urban (Scourge) was in Lord of the Rings. And also in "The Boys"
Doc McCoy
"Oi"
Butcher
Skurge is played by Karl Urban who was in Doom, The Boys, and LOTR along with other roles.
Eomer in LOTR ❤
Karl Urban has a LOOOOOONG filmography. lol
Bruce going splat onto the Bifrost had me laughing so long and hard it went ultrasonic, and made the now ex-wife think I needed medical help :D
That always gives me fits!
Surtur being a red giant, destroying an entire kingdom.
“Anyone got treats?” Too funny.
It’s interesting that you noted that Hela’s colors sort of matched Loki’s, because in the comics, she’s his daughter.
One of my favourite MCU movies. Love it.
Hela blades are necro blades which are formed using hell dimension which he has unlimited access to. Interesting fact the dark elf from the Thor dark world movie also use necro weapons like that black hole grenade. Evie is just plodding along with her MCU journey. I'm here for it!
The "He's a friend from work" line was actually an idea from a kid during the filming of the scene.
Yes. And Skurge WAS in Lord of the Rings as... A warrior on horseback... And he was also Doctor McKoy in the most recent Star Trek Trilogy.
They were wrong in the movie. Odin is stronger than Thor. Thanos waited for Odin, Hella, and Surter to die before launching his assault on everyone. He knew how powerful they were.
but that is not mentioned anywhere in the movies. How can you be so sure?

In the comics Hela is not Thor's sister.
Hela is Loki's daughter.
Skurge is Karl Urban yes he played Eomer in LOTR. He also played Bones in JJ Abrams Star Trek and the Dredd.
He was also in the Movie Doom with the Rock
And he's Billy Butcher in The Boys.
Fun fact: In the play, the actor playing Thor, is Chris Hemsworth's little brother.
not little, the big brother
Both Hela and Skurge are from Lord of the Rings she plays Lady Galadriel and he plays Eomer son of Theodin, King of Rohan

Scourge was also in The Bourne Supremacy as the Russian hitman going after Jason.

Did you notice Chris Hemsworth's brother performing as Thor in the play? Like a meta FU to real life Chris Hemsworth brought to you by Loki.
Damon played Loki Dogma.
Also, if you like Chris, 12 Strong is a great movie based on a true story.
In the comics, Hela is actually Loki's real mom. So that is where the similarities in their color scheme comes from.
And in the mytology he's her dad! :D
Not true at all.
She is his daughter in the comics
It's always bothered me that the God of Thunder (and Lightning) is stopped by a little electrical taser.
