I'm a kid of the '70s and '80s who grew up watching funny people in front of brick walls and I also never knew how to get into that business. I was a misfit who had to adapt to be the humorist like y'all said, but never pursued the idea that I could purposefully make others laugh, it was always a defense/adaptation mechanism.
Voici la profondeur sagesse la plus caché de Conan. C'était un hôte estimé, et l'age, qui pouvait écreuser cela, bravo!
Conan is still red from the hot wings.
"Toilet paper has no business trying to battle the mess of a Hot Ones appearance. Bidets, on the other hand, ..."
I agree that the internet has improved everyone's english. It's always been the "universal language" but that's more true now than ever. Even regional accents are starting to blend together, especially with younger people.
In the forgotten TV SF made in the 1990s, B5, one of the characters calls English "The Earth Language of Commerce." It was already true then, ad LOT more now.
I really liked the conversation around the language of comedy. You could tell that Conan and Jimmy are in disagreement currently, but Conan rightfully changed the subject for time. They need to have this conversation again away from camera for a much longer time. I think it would be legendary. Add in feedback from other geniuses in the industry, and I think Jimmy would be proved correct.
These two could be very powerful together. Two of the smartest people in the game and on their sides of the Atlantic. It would be a shame if they didn't make more comedy together.
“Inspiration is the reward for showing up every day”
Conan is much better in this setting, where proper conversations can be had, versus the contrived world of light entertainment with a studio audience.
Jimmy’s a smart guy but there was a lot of stand-up before Carlin and Pryor. Bob Hope, Milton Berle, Rickles, Lenny Bruce just to name a very few. These people stood alone in front of a crowd and were funny. That’s stand-up comedy.
Moms Mabley and Red Foxx
@@kylesuperbaby9616 Yes, and many more. Conan knows this and I'm not sure why he let it slide, other than Carr strikes me as a barely-contained serial killer. By the way, it's Redd, not Red.

Eddie Izzard trying to take stand up comedy into France and Germany is a fascinating thing, and the French comedy scene in general is really interesting. There's even a British comic who live in France who does bilingual shows that are phenomenal. The art form really does have so much room to stretch.
Wow Conan once again, you impress me with your knowledge in this particular case, of the War/Post War influence of Canadian and US Military bringing Music in 45 format to their deployments in the UK and trading records that is proper history m8
While I'm delighted to see Jimmy with Conan and Sona I really wish Jimmy had brought Rachael Riley along too .
Mmhmm!
What is the direrence between a podcast and usual conversation on the radio, apart from obvious medium of internet vs radio?
" I got I tooed"
I mean it goes back before Carlin and Pryor. Lenny Bruce went to jail so comedians could say what they want.
Moms Mabley and Red Foxx
So many British comedians, as it's a very differerent scene. Acaster, Gamble, Balls and so many more. The US needs Acaster.
Carr nailed it- gorley is maron's organ doppelganger. absolutely see it.
Glad he's nicer than he seems on his stand ups. He seems like a caring guy in real life. He says some stuff in his jokes that literally makes my dentures slip out!
Connan "other languages" - cameo in K-drama "Happy Once Again"
This is great 👍 👌 😂😂😂
Conan for Taskmaster USA!
Baseball, Abstract Expressionism, the SitCom...oh I thought we were going on a bit longer
I relate so hard to conan. I was also in the same position as a kid. Its honestly still hard to believe is this difficult for people and can lead to such a lucrative career because when it comes so easily to you its just so difficult to value it. Also I don't know anyone in show business so it is very much magical people on tv lmao
Now I want to see that 15 minutes of berating, with defensive squeaks dubbed in
Carlin and Pryor stood on the shoulders of Lenny Bruce, Mort Sahl, and Redd Foxx. Go back further than that and you're in Vaudeville and the Borscht Belt.
this is .. the only podcast format i watch.
.. .huh ..
Jimmy Carr’s laugh sounds like the seals from donkey Kong country
