    It's worth noting that people who are having trouble should be aware that the bed is mounted on springs at the adjuster knobs.
    You must make sure you don't put any pressure on the bed (at all) when tramming (levelling) it with paper.
    Also, I find it easier to remember that if the nozzle is too tight, then the bed needs to go down, but if you think differently, i.e the nozzle needs to come up when the paper is tight, and down when it's loose, then it's easier to remember which way to turn the knob. e.g. if the head needs to come up (paper too tight) turn the knob anti-clockwise (from above you are unscrewing it.) and vice-versa.
    Also, remember that the bed is pivoted by only 2 points in the middle, you'll find it easier and quicker with fewer steps if you level the knobs in this order. 1 - 4 - 6 - 3 - 2 - 5, then repeat in the opposite direction 3 - 6 - 4 - 1 - 5 - 2. I find doing a third run gets the bed as close to trammed as possible before automatic levelling. I run this tramming as 2 - 5 - 1 - 4 - 3 - 6. The whole process takes around 35 minutes from start to finish.
    Another tip is to use a piece of letter size or A4 paper and hold it at the edge. If it crinkles when sliding it under the nozzle it's too tight, If it moves too freely it's too loose. If you can feel it drag, but the paper doesn't lift off the bed it's perfect. If you use a smaller piece of paper, like a post-it, your fingers are too close to the nozzle and the paper doesn't have enough area to warp when the nozzle is too tight.
    I hope this helps.

    Dont forget that you should do the automatic level when the bed has been heated for 25 -30 minutes because the heat will warp the bed some.

    My z offset always seems to be a little high after leveling so I always print a skirt at least 8 lines wide and make adjustments while that's printing to dial in the perfect layer before the model begins to print, work great this way.

    My max did have the 100 level points in the beginning. But after I had to update the firmware because of some horrible screeching. Per elegoo’s support suggestion. They also sent me the file for the firmware. But after that I only get like 36 leveling points. Which I think is the standard for the smaller beds. But can that also be the reason I just can get my bed leveled right?

    • @RetraBlaze
      @RetraBlaze 8 місяців тому +1

      if you go to the settings screen, then advanced settings, under something like leveling mode you can change it to professional leveling which will give it the 100+ leveling points again. I to am having issues with leveling, but ill get it eventually, as i know you will too. Keep adjusting, maybe do some z off set test prints. I do a .3mm layer height on a 10mmx10mm square with a brim around it and takes less than a minute to print out and you can easily see if your offset is to much or not enough. can also duplicate the square to make as many as you want, in different positions to verify the entire bed.

    I have a question - every time I click auxiliary leveling, it gets rid of the offset I've set at the home point, so I can't realistically level my printer properly. Is there any way for me to fix this or work around it?

    • @nova5224

      I have the same issue, only solution I've found is to buy a better printer. Elegoo filament printers are dog shit.

    • @jacoblansman8147
      @jacoblansman8147 4 місяці тому

      @@nova5224 I have since resolved the issue. Oddly, ignoring the issue's very existence, levelling the bed anyway and then going through the 121-step autolevel shows a maximum level deviation of 0.06mm across all 121 level points. Assuming the printer can be trusted, that is.
      Models printed in the middle do come off the plate slightly easier than at the edges, but I can work with that.

    And what do you do if on auxiliary no matter how much you loosen the knobs the bed doesn’t drop enough to get paper between the bed and the nozzle? My center is lined up perfect, but when I go to the edges for auxiliary I can’t get it loose enough to fit paper in there

    • @Gooobae

      You need to turn all the adjustment knobs to most of the way tight before levelling the bed as well as setting a z offset whilst it’s in the centre before selecting auxiliary levelling to ensure the nozzle will be as close to the bed as possible.
      Then when you move it to each point it will be much closer and you can tighten/loosen the knobs as required.
