This guy is a pro. Seems like such a tedious process.

What do you prefer for basecoat, water or solvent basecoat? Which one turns out nicer? Thanks for the videos. Very informative, very much appreciated.

You don't get a consistent finish with parts swinging from the ceiling as you spray them. These parts should be firmly attached to a stand. I'm really surprised he is painting like this.

you should use better guns, especially for laquer, i know you flat and polish after, but it would be easier to flat laquer that was sprayed close to flat, instead of having such a rough finish and try to get that flat

-_- these guys are the best builders in the world and I highly doubt that any single aspect of the build process is executed in a fashion that aids with convenience or how easy it is...... (and paint as anyone knows is never easy and takes tons of patience as it is). I can only imagine they have experimented or even had preferred methods in the past that differed from what they have now, like what you speak of, and subsequently, whatever they do now has been perfected/or works best for them. I mean he made it pretty clear regarding the reasoning behind the process....

You one of them guys that thinks an expensive gun makes you a good painter? You use the most expensive gun you can find and I'll use a disposable, and I guarantee mine will look better.

Obviously he is promoting and sponsored by 3m. This is a 3m spray gun. He wouldn’t use this gun on a show car or probably any car they paint since they are some of the best know builders in the country. But you probably also have never used the 3m gun so how would you comment on a gun that you have never sprayed with? As he said, this is a collision type repair NOT a show car and this 3m gun sprays really well for the price.
