Omnipotence has a difference between types when it comes to shortcut speeds. When played on a speed type, Omnipotence won't reduce your grind rail speed. Same for fly types with fly hoops. When played on a power type, you'll gain +5 speed when you hit a power object.
So the Power stat is useless??

It’s really great to see this game getting so much support through mods and version updates. Seeing this being so competitive makes me want to try but I heavily lack the necessary stuff to do so. But I hope very great things from the group!
Riders runs well on almost any PC, if you're having trouble getting it setup people are willing to help. If controllers are an issue, you can use keyboard on Dolphin. It might sound weird, but its completely viable. The top 2 players in the world atm use keyboard.

Especially for casuals and people who skip the intro, you really need to put DX in the title. Im in neither of those categories but I still came to this video under the idea it'd be "Types in Sonic Riders Explained", when it's actually "Sonic Riders DX Explained". I'd put the DX in parentheses.
Perhaps we should have put the vanilla stats in as well, as other than that everything in vanilla gets explained. In case you're wondering, other than what we mention in the video, the only difference between types in vanilla and dx is the top speed values. In vanilla, Fly types lose 14 top speed, Power types lose 7

There a version of Sonic Riders DX for Pc with no emulator ? i'm really want to play this mod but dolphin are laggy for me
There is a PC port of vanilla sonic riders but no mods have been ported to the pc version just yet.
The mod is onlu for the Gamecube version right now. In the future we will port it to PC but don't expect that soon. If you have a Wii/Gamecube you can also use those.

I still don't understand how the jump works... I lose all the speed before doing it or just jump poorly x'D
the standard rail jump cuts your current speed in half

I've been playing this game off and on since the week it came out and I did not know how to actually use the flight controls until watching this video today. Now I can actually play my favorite character, Rouge, properly. Thanks!

Imagine someone with a world record using E-10000G
Historically e10g has had world records. There are none atm and he tends to have less than other types because in a speedrun setting we are abusing the limits of the amount of air we have. Since he has no type he has less air overall. Also he has no chance in open because most open runs abuse a type/gear specific skip
E10000R is reed and speed and E10000P is power and green......
I hope I don't come off as disrespectful towards anyone and everyone behind DX, but what makes this different from Sonic Riders Tournament Edition? I want to get into the competitive Riders scene but I don't know whether or not I should go with DX or TE. They both aim to be a more competitive version of the original Sonic Riders right? Wouldn't it be redundant to have two versions of a game trying to achieve the same thing? Again, sorry if this came off as disrespectful or anything. I just want to know which one I should dive into and which one is the definitive experience I suppose. 😅
No offense taken lol. Sonic Riders DX is made by the same team that made Sonic Riders Tournament Edition. Long story short, the dev team unanimously decided we could no longer work with the owner of the discord server. As he refused to step down, we left, and changed the name so as to dissociate with them. What is now Sonic Riders DX would have been called Sonic Riders Tournament Edition V1.4 if this hadn't happened, and we no longer host tournaments for 1.3 anyway. Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.
Strange ... afaik, E-10000G is power type in vanilla Sonic Riders and E-10000R is speed type. Why this change in Sonic Riders DX?
Have the same amount of characters in each types in order to do character classes and give them specific traits. One character was remaining so it became typeless
@@EbeneNoDensetsu this, and also the fact that e-10 r in vanilla had the stats of a power type but was a speed type, and he's red, which was confusing
This was actually changed over a year ago in a previous patch. In the original game, there were an uneven number of characters in each type. This can't work with our existing designs as we've standardized stats by creating character classes. There are 6 classes, 5 are for the characters with types, and each of them have 3 characters, 1 of each type. We also wanted to have a no-type character to add variety, this became E-10G. He has no type but gets the best stats from all the classes to compensate. E-10R is now a power type so that there are 5 characters in each type (also he's red lmao).
@@extremegearlabs6885 also theres the fact that their stats didnt match up in vanilla. As we discuss in the video, Speed types dont gain any stats, e10g in vanilla also had this despite being a power type. Likewise, despite being a Speed type in vanilla, e10r had power type stats, these changes match their stats to their types, or lack thereof

Yes the mod is for the NTSC-U GameCube version. Read the FAQ in the discord, itll take you to where we provide resources to help learn the game. We also plan to make more video guides like this one when finals are over lol.

@@extremegearlabs6885 what does that mean in practice? Is E-10000R now able to punch or still able to grind? Either way I am very excited to try the mod out. Just the 2 robots are my main characters I play and I don't know what all of this means for the abilities like grinding, etc.
as someone who loved this game but never owned a gamecube I kinda hate that the controller you're showing is the gamecube one because I have no idea how those controls would translate to a more standard controller. given its more unique design, I feel like the gamecube controller was the worst choice here.
We use the gamecube controller to display as DX modifies the gamecube version of the game
Although dolphin allows the use of any controller, at the end of the day you must bind it as a gamecube controller in settings so all players should have a reference for how this translates into their control scheme
@@extremegearlabs6885 oh I thought this would be a standalone executable using the PC version of the game.
We are working on a PC port for the mod but we use dolphin in the meantime as it has built-in online features. On PC we have to do the netcode ourselves and the version we have in development isn't up to par yet.
