Hi beautiful ladies, I was at this show in April of 1983 as a 19 year old. I'm 60 now.😢 This was at the US Festival which took place in Devore CA., which is located about 60 miles east of Los Angeles. The crowd was estimated to be about 450,000 people in attendance on Heavy Metal day at the US Festival. Priest hit the stage at about 2:00pm with this tune with the temperature well above 100 degrees. Priest put on a phenomenal set which was unforgettable, especially with Halford casually walking out the way he did to start the show. It's crazy to think that Priest is still going strong today all these years later. Unfortunately, Priest guitarist Glenn Tipton who still tours with the band suffers from Parkinson's disease. Keep him in your prayers will ya. He's a good guy. Thanks ladies for your reaction to this unforgettable moment in my life.
I was 21 then, stationed at 29 palms MCB, and a huge priest fan. I fought thru the crowd to within 50 feet of the stage during this act. Loving it, shirtless and drunk. Great day in history.
I was right there with you my man! I'm a year younger and spent this epic Memorial Day weekend out there. It was just two weeks before I graduated high school. Metal Day was awesome!
I fucking envy you, I am 26 and wish I could go back in time I would go to America just to listen to them and nothing else hehe, also wish I was old enough to go to first led zeppelin concerts but then again I like my youth with a bitter taste of sadness because I wasnt there at their peeak
This song was written ahead of it's time. The lyrics were a warning. Because that's exactly the world we live in today. And i was at this show, '83 Devore, California! I was 13 with my older cousins.
Halford would do this on his lead in. You would hear him singing, but you didn’t know where the hell he was until a third of the way through the song. Always loved that! 😂 My favorite intro like this is “Out in the Cold.”
This band has been around forever and I'm here to say that this song stands tall lyrically with the way the world is today. 1982 off the Screaming For Vengeance album. The song that goes right along with this is Metal God's from the British Steel album 1980.
yeah despite what people say it was no secret about alternative lifestyle of the singer, that was the scene back then and they championed it. under the drummer behind the fake amplifiers is a harley davidson motorcycle, they have a microphone attached too it and play the sound of the exhaust through the loudspeakers. singer rides it out on the stage for the song "hell bent for leather". 1991 tulsa indoor concert - bands - testament then, megadeth, then priest was the headline. the exhaust sound vibrated the building, it was so loud it was deafened for about 5 hours after the show. loved it everyminute. lol
Donna just for you. 1.Heading out to the highway. 2. Grinder. 3 . Heavy Duty/Defenders Of The Faith. 4. Diamonds And Rust. Just to name a few. Rock on so says the old rocker! Your enthusiasm for music is fantastic each one of you ladies. Keep it coming!❤❤❤👍👍
Hi ladies! Yeah, The Priest is an Awesome! Band. I remember playing many of their songs when I was in cover bands. My introduction to them was when l was playing a concert at a huge college in Delaware, and when we were finished, some of the students invited our band back to their dorm rooms to hang out, and l saw a picture of Judas Priest. I knew who they were but hadn't yet heard any of their songs. So, somebody put on Victim of Changes, and after hearing that, I've liked them and listened to them ever since. At the end, you heard the drummer going off. That was the beginning of their song titled "Riding on the Wind". Now, that's another great song. Great reaction ladies!😊😊❤
Judas Priest was actually the very first Rock band that I ever saw in concert! They were the opening act for Led Zeppelin! My friend had 6th row center floor seats to the concert and his brother had to work, so I took his ticket 🎟. This is back when you could get really great tickets for $12... those days are long gone!!&! Judas Priest was promoting their SAD WINGS OF DESTINY album.
This is the opening track from Judas.Priest screaming for vengeance album and it is the very first album that I would consider to be contemporary.Heavy metal at the time that I purchased with my own money as a very young kid and it changed me forever .
"Why does he have a whip?" Rob Halford brought that leather and studs look to Judas Priest. We wandered into an S&M shop one day and introduced the look to the band and it stuck. It's a great Heavy Metal look. And thousands of other bands took to that look also. I'm 60 and been a Judas Priest fan since 1980. I saw them and Iron Maiden in 1982 in which Iron Maiden OPENED UP FOR Judas Priest. Also saw them on their Defenders Of The Faith the year after that. They ARE the Metal Gods. Fun reaction, guys!
Off the screaming for vengeance album saw them live that tour. Then again in eighty four is eighty four During defenders of the faith tour then again during the pain killers tour
Judas Priest at the height of their career as a live band in 1983... They had a decade of gigs at that point and they were firing 100% on all cylinders.
US Festival....Judas Priest was one of the best at this show. True metal geniuses!! Ladies...please look into...Triumph...at the same festival. You will LOVE IT!!
This song is special for me because its from the first Judas Priest album i bought on cassette back in the day. Screaming for Vengeance the title track is one of my favs
Why does he have a whip? When they play the song "The Green Manalishi with the Two Prong Crown" he wails around with that thing like crazy! Check out "The Sinner" (Live Vengeance 82 version) "Beyond the Realms of Death" "The Serpent and the King" (for a brand new one)
Hi y'all. So in my personal opinion the late 70's and all through the 80's were Judas Priest's prime years. I love the live selections you have reacted to thus far. I humbly submit the following Judas Priest songs for you to check out. "Judas Priest - The Green Manalishi (With the Two Pronged Crown) [Live Vengeance '82]" It's actually a cover of an old Fleetwood Mac song before Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined the band. Also another cover song, this one I think was originally a Joan Baez song "Judas Priest - Diamonds and Rust (Live Vengeance '82)". "Judas Priest - Sinner (Live Vengeance '82)" "Judas Priest - Bloodstone (Live Vengeance '82)" "Judas Priest - The Sentinel (Live)" "Judas Priest - Rocka Rolla (BBC Performance) " "Judas Priest - 14 Beyond the Realms of Death - Rising In The East 2005 - 1080p HD" "Judas Priest - Desert Plains (Live Vengeance '82)" Just a "few" suggestions. 🤣
I've seen Judas Priest five times over the years, and now watching Donna's reaction to them is something I really now look forward to seeing, especially when Rob Halford hits those high notes that he's so famous for. This performance was from the same concert as the first one you reacted that sent Donna into the stratosphere... *And She Liked It!!!* lol
the singer now in his 70's has just released a new Judas Priest album and still delivers on his vocal range try Trial By Fire, The Serpent and the King, Invincible Shield, and his solo work from bands like Halford try Resurrection, and a pick any live track from the album Halford - Live Insurrection my favorite Life in Black his last note live blows my mind every time I hear it.
i love em too donna, my favorite is diamonds and rust, a love song from joan baez to bob dylan, it truly showcases rob's voice, it gets heavy at the end, if you watch it the video that says ant33 with rob in a leather gown, another is beyond the realms of death, epitaph live video its heavy
the leather look of Rob Hafford ( lead singer) was his way of showing his sexuality (he is gay) without actually saying it because he was worried about be accepted ( it was a different time then)....
I was a straight, teenage boy in the 80s and had no idea because the studded leather look was pervasive in metal clothing. When I was older and learned about Leather Culture it all made sense.
I'm disappointed y'all didn't play my request to this song with a better show, the one with the robot it actually picks up Rob Halford (the lead singer) but I love this and your reaction, as always keep on rocking ladies 🤟
Part II 😁 Funny story. Guitar 🎸 player Glenn Tipton said (?) He went to the singers house (Rob) to meet him and heard him singing to a Doris Day song. It's funny if you know who she is 😜☮️
Judas Priest's drummer, Dave Holland, at the age of 56 in 2004, was convicted of attempted rape and indecent assault, and served eight years in prison. He died of lung cancer in 2018 at nearly 70 years old.
Thanks for reacting to Priest. They have many great songs. If you prefer watching live performances vs studio, there is a very good live performance of Blood Red Skies from the 2011-12 Epitaph tour that you would enjoy. Very well shot and recorded and shows them later in years but still kicking ass. Highly recommended. Rock On!
i wasnt at this show BUT i did have the pleasure of seeing them twice as a 16 year old... AMAZING.... you want to see them at what i consider their best check out "Painkiller"....
I definitely suggest Blood Red Skies off their 1988 Ram it down. The studio version is the best at showing Rob Halford's high vocal range. This song shows Rob's different vocal ranges. This song will blow your mind with shock and amazement.
If you want more Judas Priest, but a song that is completely different from the hard hitting, heavy metal stuff, a pure ballad actually, then there's "Before the Dawn". Now that song is incredibly powerful in a different way, and very, very sad and emotional, I hasten to add. It will break your hearts into little pieces...in a good, therapeutic way, ofc and you will feel great afterward :)
I've loved Priest since way back in my teens in the 80s. I tried to emulate Rob Halford, bought the studded arm bands. He just looked so badass. Obviously his appearance has changed. I was amazed by his collaboration with the iconic Dolly Parton, a testament to how sweet and open-minded she is. I hope you will check out one of my favorites, preferably not a live version. One of my first metal albums i heard when i was 15 was unleashed in the east. This concert was in california i think and it was so hot people almost died in the heat, there was like 350k people there. Lulu u have to be careful talking about sexy stuff with women older than urself or u will get enemies. Donna is a "Donna" as we say in Sweden, meens a fox in english. I have the Dvd concert of this show and its longer than this show coz its a festival and Priest was only allowed sertain amount of time. The song Screaming for vengeance from this show or any show really is a great song. more energy than this song. ty for the reaction guys
This was at the same festival where you reacted to Victim of Changes. You absolutely owe it to yourselves to react to Sinner from the 1982 live Vengeance video.

We will definitely keep Glenn in our prays.
I was 21 then, stationed at 29 palms MCB, and a huge priest fan. I fought thru the crowd to within 50 feet of the stage during this act. Loving it, shirtless and drunk. Great day in history.
My mother was also at that show and my father as well. Also, my uncle went on the other day or something like that, and saw The Beastie Boys.
I was right there with you my man! I'm a year younger and spent this epic Memorial Day weekend out there. It was just two weeks before I graduated high school. Metal Day was awesome!

Priest are my number 1 band. I'm a guitarist and I've seen them live 13 times
Lucky 3 times for me
This video was shot the US festival. I highly recommend checking out Triumph at this same festival with Lay it on the line.

One of my Favourite Priest songs - the guitar riffing is just gorgeous. Mr Halford as always great on vocals.
Saw them live again about 3 weeks ago and they were awesome Rob Halford is 72 and still has a great voice
Saw priest in 90 the painkiller tour.one of the best shows i have ever seen
Donna just for you. 1.Heading out to the highway. 2. Grinder. 3 . Heavy Duty/Defenders Of The Faith. 4. Diamonds And Rust. Just to name a few. Rock on so says the old rocker! Your enthusiasm for music is fantastic each one of you ladies. Keep it coming!❤❤❤👍👍
Heavy Duty is an amazing song because they're so known for adrenaline fueled, sonic assault but they slow the tempo way down and get even heavier.
Hi ladies! Yeah, The Priest is an Awesome! Band. I remember playing many of their songs when I was in cover bands. One of the best live bands. Rob Halford has the operatic screams and the twin guitar attack is smoking.

Thank you! Will do!

One of the best live performances of Judas Priest is "Out in the cold" from Texas, the 'Fueled for Life tour'.
They're all in their mid early seventies now but the faces show it but they're still in good shape physically
I saw Judas Priest in Atlanta Georgia back in 1988 here with Cinderella opening up for them definitely a great show
I'm disappointed y'all didn't play my request to this song with a better show, the one with the robot it actually picks up Rob Halford (the lead singer) but I love this and your reaction, as always keep on rocking ladies 🤟
Thank you so much ladies, your reactions make my day. ❤️👍
Thanks
Do Judas Priest You Got Another Thing Comin.
I like to karaoke and I sing a lot of Judas Priest Damn you guy's just threw me back to 1986 when I graduated High School. TY.
Dave Holland has the best seat in the house. He probably needed a ladder just to get to his drum kit.
Part II 😁 Funny story. Guitar 🎸 player Glenn Tipton said (?) He went to the singers house (Rob) to meet him and heard him singing to a Doris Day song. It's funny if you know who she is 😜☮️
The Metal Gods in all their glory 🤘
I just seen them in Kalamazoo 2024
I recommend reacting to Judas Priest ''Hell Bent for Leather'' (Live Version)
Coming soon.
They have a new album out called Invisible Shield. You should check out the first single “Panic Attack.” Rob is 72 and still has an amazing voice!
Judas Priest's drummer, Dave Holland, at the age of 56 in 2004, was convicted of attempted rape and indecent assault, and served eight years in prison. He died of lung cancer in 2018 at nearly 70 years old.
I had to see this I knew Donna was gonna geek out lol
Yes, she did she is in love with them. Lol

I definitely suggest Blood Red Skies off their 1988 Ram it down. The studio version is the best at showing Rob Halford's high vocal range. This song shows Rob's different vocal ranges. This song will blow your mind with shock and amazement.

The heavy metal style was cemented in the 70s when long haired artists wore allot of makeup, extravagant leather and metal studs to showcase their rebellious nature.
Nobody knew ( except JP ) that Rob was gay until he came out of the closet in 1998.
He had the opportunity to wear all that stuff on stage without anyone knowing he was gay.
Please. EVERYONE knew he was gay!
