Agree. SFV basically elevated Priest into the higher circle of elites...populated by just a few ( Sabbath etc)...but this established Priest as the King. Sure, Stained Class, British Steele and previous offerings were great and had JP on the right path this album was Definitely a turning point album for them.
@@Savatage1964 and that lasted about a year until piece of mind and kill em all arrived. those were way beyond this. album is decent , maybe #3 after sad wings and stained class.
Love this album, but JPs British Steel, Motorheads Ace Of Spades, AC/DC's Back In Black, and Iron Maiden's self titled album all were released in 1980. THAT set the stage.
Saw JP in 1980 with Whitesnake and Iron Maiden in ATL at the fabulous FOX theater. It only seats just under 4k. What a freakin show.... Love you guys......#OLDMETALHEADSRULE!!!!$
YES!!! You have no idea how happy this made me. Thanks a lot. And hope you enjoyed this song as much as I do (haven't even watched the video yet lol). EDIT: #painintheask Battle Cry/One Shot At Glory by Priest. Their most epic song ever. Also please do some Testament! Burnt Offerings or The Ballad.
You will absolutely love the Priest live. Have been fortunate to see them several times. Turbo Lover is a great song, you should try that one. Love your reactions!
When my 24 year old son was little I'd blast Priest in the car. When we'd get into the car he'd say, "Mama, play the Terrible Lover Song!" We're going to see Priest play the Terrible Lover Song in Nashville on May 6th.
Christmas in April! Electric Eye is used to open so many live Priest concerts. Thank you for sharing. Suggest listening to 'Live in London' CD with Tim (Ripper)Owens on lead vocals, it will prep you well for your upcoming concert. Last, Fun Fact: this song was used in a Honda Odyssey tv commercial a few years ago.
I remember in the early 80s walking around with a portable record boogie box which was almost as big as me at the time with this 12" album screaming for vengeance on full blast outside school... fantastic album still to this day.
Great song on an AMAZING album (Screaming For Vengeance). Enjoy the show. Rob Halford is a beast with the vocals. Still remember the only time I saw them back in 1986.
This song was released 37 years ago and still rips! If you go back 37 years from it's 1982 release date (I was a 12-year-old living in England and worshipping Priest and Maiden) the popular songs were "My dreams are getting better all the time" by Les Brown and his Orchestra and "Till the end of time" by Perry Como. Yes. You're THAT lucky to be living now instead of then. Cheers.
I just discovered your channel yesterday and... YOU'RE READING MY MIND! How loud music moves you into a more empowered life... I AM staying tuned, and hope to share more of my own ideas. Woohoo!
One of my all time favs...the video still on youtube with him dressed kinda like one of the guys in the Blue oyster in the Police Academy movies...with whip in hand and the flashing light beams all over the guitarist..its a song that applies today to the high tech surviellence we do have...the classic song litterally predicted the high tech future we are living right now
Congratulations you two on going to your first Priest show. Love seeing how music is bringing you both together. Keep rockin!! Big shout out to you both from Wilsonville Oregon.
That opening and intro are classic! One of the best ever and the whole tune rips. I should mention that Halford's lyrics are prescient when you think about the current specter of surveillance, as well. Great Choice---And It's even better when you let The Hellion-Electric Eye run into Riding on the Wind. For a 15-year old ambitious guitarist in 1982 this album taught me to play metal. Great memories. #PainInTheAsk (I'm going to keep asking! HAHA!) Big Big Train "The Underfall Yard" (at least part 1...the entire piece is about 23 minutes). I saw Priest in '81 w/ Maiden opening and Mahogany Rush on first. Point of Entry tour, and Maiden was touring Killers. Priest killed it! I saw them in '84 on the Defenders of the Faith tour and it was an amazing show. Halford in his prime and Glenn and KK's Marshalls just a hair's breadth from the the edge of uncontrollable. Amazing!
Glad you guys did this one! Classic hard driving JP at its finest. Don't play this one while driving or you'll get a speeding ticket. The rest of that album is full of classics too.
you certainly gonna have fun at their concert. I've seen them 3 times and I can say they have the richest and heaviest sound out of all the bands I've seen live. And I've been to numerous shows. Halford due to his age seems a bit tired on stage, but they certainly still rock
Hey guys yeah Judas Priest is the shit the drummer Scott Travis is from Norfolk Virginia we grew up together went to middle school high school awesome guy awesome band best song
Easily my favorite of Priest. Halford is amazeballs. Priest is amazeballs. That guitar riff is just so iconic and unmistakable. Probably one of the best riffs ever written.
I turned 14 in 1982 and for my b-day I ask my aunt to get me an album of a band I heard, and that was Iron Maiden" number of the beast" . Well my aunt was very religious and seen the album cover and said no way!!! But she seen a judas priest album, SFV...and figured that sounded safe enough. Had not been turned on to Priest yet....I was a new metal head at that piont. But played that vinyl out,and been a priest fan even since.\m/ • • \m/
Guys, please react to Resurrection-Halford, #painintheask. Halford leaves Judas Priest in 1993, as the rest of the band does not let him try new music. In addition, he feels judged for being homosexual. For a few years he play in hardcore metal band called Figth. Afterwards, he forms an industrial metal band called Two. At the beginning of 2000 he forms his solo band Halford and returns to heavy metal. This song tells the emotional process that led him to return to heavy metal. (in 2005 Halford returns tu Judas Priest) lml
Actually, the band rendered Halford their blessings to do a solo project...it was the record company that gave Halford a hard time (as there was contract language that cited he'd have to leave the band to commit to anything on his own...a total bullshit clause).
Some great older Priest songs, The Green Manalishi (With The Three Prong Crown), The Ripper, Hell Bent For Leather, Burnin' Up, Out In The Cold. I have many more suggestions if you want more.
Nice reaction! I think its time for you two to do Turbo Lover! This album got a lot of flack from teh metal community, but there is some great songs on Turbo.
Late to the Party as usual. However, Priest is know for the first band to have dueling Guitars and that amazing scream of Rob. First album i ever heard was British Steel and some great anthyems on that whole album. Went to this concert with Iron Maiden what a show
Rob is in his 60s and can still hit most of those notes. Watch some of the more recent live performances to get a taste of what you are about to experience. Rock on.
#painintheask Dokken "Mr. Scary". I would like to see you react to George Lynch's guitar playing. He was one of the top 3 (along with Randy Rhoads and Eddie Van Halen) rock guitarists that 1st generated a buzz in the late 1970's playing the LA music scene. George has great tone and puts a lot of feeling in his solos. He was the original guitarist for Dokken and has his own band, Lynch Mob, as well as played on many special projects over the years.
Yes! Eddie, George, and Randy were the three big guitarists on the LA scene back in the '70s! Eddie just happened to make it big first. I have wondered what the guitar scene would look like if George was the first one to make it big... 🤔
I don't know if this channel is still active, but I would Love to see you react to Levitation by Hawkwind, Satan's Fall or anything by Mercyful Fate and Hallowed be thy name by Cradle of Filth. The Hawkwind is Space Rock and the other 2 bands are Black Metal !
Classic Judas, inspiration to most metal bands. come to think of it, sabaton - bismark borrowed the riff from Hellion I think. still love both versions, hehe...
#YngwieMalmsteen "I'll see the light" I like Kim was a classically trained pianist, but, wasn't discouraged from outside source's Yngwie J. Malmsteen started the Neo-Classical metal movement and is the standard bearer of combining Metal with classical music.
One of the greatest Priest songs ever. This whole album, Screaming for Vengeance is in the top 5 Priest albums.
Agree. SFV basically elevated Priest into the higher circle of elites...populated by just a few ( Sabbath etc)...but this established Priest as the King. Sure, Stained Class, British Steele and previous offerings were great and had JP on the right path this album was Definitely a turning point album for them.

Reactyon or Free wll Burnig of Judas Priest boy's !!! 👍👍💪💪👌
So happy to hear you guys are going to your first JP show. I've been lucky enough to have seen Priest 4 times and they do not disappoint.
This album really defined and established the second round of heavy music, and set the stage for 80's metal. Amazing.
Love this album, but JPs British Steel, Motorheads Ace Of Spades, AC/DC's Back In Black, and Iron Maiden's self titled album all were released in 1980. THAT set the stage.
So true .. I agree
@@atlg8or6137 The sound of those albums were too much influenced by the 70s, this album have the classic HM 80s sound.
Holy cow this track is brilliant. I havent listened to it in years and its just as fresh as ever. Go metal. 🎸😁
#painintheask judas Priest Beyond the realms of death
Great song! One of my favorites!! So many more! Hopefully you dive into a lot more Judas Priest!
They opened their US Festival 83 set with this song. That was a great day for metal.
Electric eye summing up our times perfectly

Dreamer Deceiver and Deceiver Judas Priest Robs range is off the charts!!!
Priest should be always watched live
That is a One Bad Ass album..!
Classic metal album
The very best thing about your reactions to music is that you don't stop the song to make a comment like others do. That's why you are the best.
Love your vids ! Like your reations to the vids to the songs I grew up on.
Check out more Helloween and Iron Maiden vids.
Ah yes, highschool .... especially loved Bloodstone off this album.....
#painintheask Riverside Escalator Shrine
Yes, Bloodstone is great. I think my favorite on that album is Riding on the Wind. Heck, I just like the whole album; freakin' great one!
Yessir, not one single bad track on that record. Badass metal from beginning to end.
My first Priest show was Glasgow, Scotland in 1983, was 13 years old, this is my fave Priest track.
You will absolutely love the Priest live. Have been fortunate to see them several times. Turbo Lover is a great song, you should try that one. Love your reactions!

Awesome choice. Literally, THE song, and guitar solo that started me out from the beginning.
Perfect Choice....

The Hellion/Electric Eye/Riding on the Wind is the best 1-2-3 punch to open an album for pure ass-kickery in the history of rock and roll!!!
Yes!! Riding on the Wind is an excellent choice for a reaction

Saw this tour 82-83’ Halford literally Screamed 4 Vengeance!
Pure kick ass song!!! Quintessential classic heavy metal.....and the lyrics of the subject matter are so distinct and provocative! \m/ \m/
Back in the eighties I used these tracks for a heavy duty cardio workout. Really pushed myself hard thanks to these two tracks
Goosebumps! What a show opener that used to be!
For many years this was the opening of their live shows......Can't think of a better way to start.

1 second after Electric Eye ended I felt the drums of Ridin of the Wind. And so did the person reading this
Great song! I like your ideas for branching out - can't wait!
JP pure genius... go back read the lyrics. electric eye.
love this group!
Best track on this album and one of my favorite Priest songs ... React the title track too!
Greatest intro ever
Looking forward to your ideas! Keep exploring the old school metal, you can't go wrong.
Been watching your videos for a little while now BUT I just want to say ... So Sorry for your lose Rich.
British Metal rules. The Priest go straight for the jugular.
Best metal intro of all time.
great song(s)!
HEY GUYS REACT TO A DUO FROM SAXON CRUSADER ( KILLER LEAD SOLO ) & THE BROKEN HEROES ! FROM ACCEPT ; BALLS TO THE WALL & GENERATION CLASH !

Riding on the Wind - Judas Priest
Same album...

Overlooked gem of a Judas Priest song called HARD AS IRON. Please do a reaction video for that awesome tune. Thanks!
And check-out stand for Exciter
Whenever Rob Halford is involved, the music rocks. You should listen to his post Priest band "2" . Specifically the song " I am a pig".
I like his fight n halford reseruction stuff much better...2 was more.like goth shit

Try "The Ripper" and "Judas Rising"!
Thx for the reaction!
Great song!!
Also pls check firepower from Judas priest
The old Priest !!! Nice
Whodathunk those ominous lyrics would be so pertinent today? Rob has ESP so on spot its SCARRRRY!!!😳
