    3 yrs. Ago I brought oud wood home on a tester strip and it filled my home office with the classic scent. That lasted 24 hrs.! But last winter I sprayed myself with a tester of oud wood 4-5 times on the same shop and it was barely noticeable 😢. How sad it is when companies do this to their loyal customers. You speak the truth brother.

    He may have purchased a fake. I got a tiny sample bottle two weeks ago. A few hours after I sprayed it on, my daughter walked into my mancave and immediately upon entering the room says "You smell good"... She wasn't even close to me yet. Check the box, if it has a box around the fire on the back of the lower package casing it’s fake, and the ingredients do not include METHYLPROPIONAL in the legitimate fragrance so be sure to check that!
    Also TF used white plastic under the atomiser.
    Fakes are getting too good these days that people often miss the small details!

    just to share my experience, I have a lot of perfumes that were produced in the 90s to early 2000s and until now the fragrance has not changed, for example Green Polo lasts all day with Chanel Blu EDT produced in 2000 and when I bought Chanel Blue EDP in 2020 the aroma was not as strong as EDT and quickly disappeared even though I had sprayed it 15 times. If you look at old perfumes, they don't have an expiry date and the aroma is strong and lasts a long time. Currently, designer and niche perfumes have an expiry date, this is very doubtful.

    It is like music; like, certain classic scents. Like, for instance, the FIRST "DUNE" fragrance. Or...certain Liz Claiborne fragrances from back in the day (for me.) Like, particular original Esteé Lauder fragrances.

    Very disappointed in Tom Ford Oud Wood. I wanna say I remember that Tom Ford sold the brand a while back. I wonder if this is just corporate greed?!?

    Someone wrote already, Thameen Carved Oud is close enough,extrait with good performance.
    I don't know what's with those companies! Is it greed? Will continue to buy it just for a sentiment? We're idio**?
    Everytime this happens I'm done with it and will try to influence as much people I can to do the same.

    OUD WOOD - Loves this fragrance... but everything you said is spot on- I am going to invest into one of the clones-- same smell, better projection and longevity .

    Hi Peter,
    Im pretty sure i got a legit bottle and it is from 2021. good lord it is literally evaporating after 5minutes from my skin..like gone 😮
    Can you or anybody else help sharing the worst reformlation year it got started?

  • @cliftonhough5768
    @cliftonhough5768 Рік тому

    I returned a bottle a few years ago it’s performance was so terrible. They told me it’s because the old bottle had obviously evaporated the alcohol and the base was left stronger in the end. BS. So I went and found and bought the old gold label bottles. Amazing. It’s actually perfume. Black Wood by Rirana will get you what you need.

      Hi Mate, do you have tips to find old Oud Wood bottles ? The new one doesn't smell anything and I would like to stock for old dones. Many thanks

    • @cliftonhough5768
      @cliftonhough5768 5 місяців тому

      @@Kvkhr I found mine sometimes on eBay. There are a lot of Facebook groups dedicated to finding and sharing niche fragrances or samples. I would suggest searching for fragrance groups there if you can from max forti, etc. Unfortunately as time has gone by it's been over 10 years since the "gold" label versions were produced which closely matched the original 2007 formula. I have to say i returned an Oud Wood bottle about 5 years ago because it was terrible and they gave me a bullshit excuse why it smelled different. That's how I knew the company was just doing cash grabs.

    Companies do this to sell new products. I’d bet they’re coming out with a parfum, exlixer, or relaunch the intense version.

      Notino is not the best adress :(
      But i made a similar experience with jubilation from amouage.
      To my own surprise the perfume changed within 2 weeks from weak to normal.
      Sometimes a bit of air seems necessary to male the perfume mature.
      So give it a little time and then try again maybe it changes as well.

    I have no problem with this. 1)You probably not wearing it correctly.
    Or
    2)you might have got scammed if you didn't purchase it from the actual Tom Ford website. A lot of sellers online taking empty bottles & filling them up themselves. But anyway.
    1) Shower, of course
    2) Apply african raw shea butter to your pulse points. And let it absorb.
    3)Then add the oud wood perfume oil all over your pulse points. And wait for that to absorb.
    4)And finally spray the fragrance on your pulse points. You should be able to get 8-12 hours of longevity.

    • @epinu86
      @epinu86 10 місяців тому +1

      I agree with you 100%, maybe it's my body chemistry, but it stays on my pulse points after I shower at night, and it's still prevalent the next morning.
