  • What's up SQUAAAAD?! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and got to spend some time with your loved ones! Also for those of you in school, keep pushing through .. we're almost done with finals and it's almost break time! Lol.
Someone asked about my opinion regarding the whole going from undergraduate member to graduate member thing so I figured I'd address it. Depending on you and the bonds you've made throughout your undergrad experience, it may be easier for you to transfer over but if you're like me .. it may not be as easy.
Regardless, hope this video helps, as always!

So many great points. Your grad chapters need you. Even if it doesn’t appear to be the case when you initially join, trust me - they DO. I especially agree with regard to making yourself available for the things you can do and like to do. In my discussion with members of all the D9 sororities, the chapters might have 100 members, but most times there are about 30 members who always keep the wheels greased and rolling. They would appreciate any help they can get. It can be as simple as helping to set up a space for an event or clean up afterwards. You joined for a reason, be it grad or undergrad. Contribute in any way you can and definitely don’t be afraid to speak up. 💙

Omg yesss! I recently transitioned and it has been quite an experience to say the least. I sometimes feel like the older Sorors can take youth as a sign of weakness and that’s not the case at all. I can completely relate! And I’ll have to start all over and do all this again when I go to grad school. 🤦🏾‍♀️

I definitely needed this video. I just graduated college in May and have been going back and forth on whether to or not to join right now and remain general until I know where I’ll be at after grad school. Honestly it was another job in college so I think I will do what you did and hold off a year. But imma still pay those dues lol

Good sound advise. I just want to add, if you're sitting out a year or more to make sure you stay a General Member. Active doesn't always mean you're in a Chapter working. Graduate Chapters do need and want you. I apologize on behave of Graduate Members who make you feel like you have to fight for a place in the ''service to all mankind'. We all took the same vow no matter the age. I commend you on standing firm in your chapter and doing the work.

Thanks so much for your videos. I subscribed but didn't comment until now (discretion, ma'am). I am a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated! Your videos were a refresher much needed after being away from the undergrad scene. Still subscribing to support others' journey.

Can you make a video on what you know about joining the org in Graduate chapter... sponsors and other information that you can give.

Can you do a video on how to get a sponsor for undergrad or if they will work with you if you can’t pay upfront?
