I expect that in addition to the Zombie outbreak exercises, there are several people putting together semi-alien or other Outside-Context Problem exercises. Most of those would be using your training to counter the alien tech advantages, while getting as many civilians out in time before the Air Force Strategic craft or Naval Ballistic Missile subs decide to break out their heavy weapons. One semi-idea might be the Faro Plague from the game Horizon: Zero Dawn. You get informed of an anomalous thermal bloom in an area and you have to figure out what is going on. You have to scout out the region to find the small hackerbots, while also keeping your armored units available to deal with the combat and factory units. Oh, and if you blow up the local coal power plant the bots switch over to Biomass Reclamation making them a much nastier threat vs civilians and your troops. So it is still earth tech, just vs a machine mind that does not care for morale, losses, just pure efficiency.
@@toddkes5890 And that game story wise as how they lost makes no sense to me because they eat biomass as fuel and the bio sphere will collapse meaning Earth becomes like mars so why not just nuke the living shit out the swarm I'm pretty sure they wont be able to run or repair themselves with 10.000 nukes to the face just carpet bomb them with nukes they should have nuked them with full force before the robots reached Europe meanwhile you have that that doctor do her work without the threat of being eaten by robots and after she is finitised the AI she created will clean the earth of the radiation voila the AI made robots to clean the oceans and the sky etc etc so she can make ones to clean the radiation and fix the biosphere.

But hey if they won’t we would not be having that game and and sorry it’s just that they don’t go into details as to what they tried and haven’t tried to fight the robots
@@archangelwarrior9816he idea of the games plot line is to only have tidbits of information about what happened and why. All we know was that the plague started and people fought them till the end to make time for the doctors (to put it broadly). The details of how they fought and what battles went like is very scarce. But the thing to take into consideration about using nukes is that nukes today will destroy the world if they are used. So in that scenario you have two options. Don’t nuke the robots and the world turns into a dead rock. Use the nukes and the world turns into a extremely radioactive dead rock on top of the radiation the planet would absorb from the biosphere being gone. The chances of the world engine doing it’s job right after the plague is gone would be far less if they needed to add more functions to it to clean up the nuclear mess we made in a failed attempt. Either way the world was ending and they knew that, probably why the idea of just nuking everything went out the window.
As for the "3 hours to clear civilians" part, remember that the Battle of Mogadishu was supposed to be a 30 min snatch and grab that turned into an 8+ hour ordeal.
I thought the briefing was essentially "there are civilians in this building. Your job is to go there, count how many there are, and call in extraction for them. If we can't extract you, then make your own way out of the city. Air Force will be bombing this area in 3 hours, don't be late." Figure several platoons are being sent into the city like this to extract civilians where possible, while other units are going in to engage the aliens.
During the Siege of Marawi by ISIS in the Philippines, it took more than 24 hours to rescue trapped civilians. I agree, a rescue mission of this scale against a superior force is gonna be hell.

15:04 so accurate. Deployed on wildfires (civil service firefighter) years ago, had a "mandatory" evacuation order and was doing structure protection on a house the homeowner refused to leave. My LT told the guy, we can't make you leave, but if you see us leave you better get in with us. The fire changed direction and came right into the neighborhood and we left in a hurry, and the guy waved at us as we did. We had a lot of switchbacks to get out of the neighborhood and after a few turns, here comes the resident running out of a backyard he cut through somehow with his shirt melted to his back, we stopped (barely) long enough to let him jump in the engine and continued to haul ass.
"You don't need Special Forces; you need JESUS." Best moment in thirty minutes of golden roasting. This was hilarious. Also, TruFax about Rogan. He's for sure into homo-strange.
Ryan Cleckner once said that at sniper school his technique to pass the stalk was to get into position and go to sleep. Here wait for someone else to fire and that would wake him up. He'd take his shot while all the instructors were distracted looking for the other guy.

So, about the radio thing. Cell phones and radios are not analogous. Your cellphone requires connection to a tower which then transmits the signal from your phone to other towers, bounced off of the atmosphere, or to a satellite depending on the tower and where your calling. Unless you specifically are using a sat phone, which typically does not have the same capabilities as a smart phone, your phone would likely stop working. Also, things like 5g require direct line of sight with the tower, and 4gs range is extremely short due to the frequency required. Radios dont use cell phone towers, they can, but it would simply be a bad idea. Thats why typically the military uses its own radio infrastructure, whether thats mobile deployable towers or permanent towers set up in more permanent bases are used. The frequency really matters, most radios use a lower frequency then whats used for cellphones nowadays use (more frequency, more information). Want to transmit information further, lower frequency, want to transmit more, higher frequency. Further look at the difference between a radio antenna and your phones antenna to see why this matters. Your phones antenna is essentially your phones shell, its not very big. The radio you use to transmit across half the countrybhas that extremely long antenna that folds in 3 parts. It is perfectly reasonable for their cellphone service to fail and still have radio signal. Civilian infrastructure is very unlikely to survive this attack.
That's a good argument with the cell phone except you forget that this takes place in 2011. Smartphones weren't on every single person. Also, the amount of cell traffic would likely jam any communications or data usage. The aliens didn't take out radio comms because they used it as a tactical advantage. They tracked the signals of their radios to figure out their positions.
About the phone thing, they needed the map because the Aliens were jamming a lot of the tech. Between the signal blocks and the damage to the infrastructure GPS was unreliable.
If that was the case, radios wouldnt work either. Its far more likely that the extremely complex network used to stream 4k videos to cellphones has failed than it is that the aliens are blocking some technology but is blocking the one their enemy needs to communicate (or that it just so happens that those radio frequencies are the only ones not blocked).
Bucky, I just need you to know... This movie was one of my favorite things... Until I heard your EPIC rant about it at the end of this video. I still like it, but now YOU'RE one of my favorite things. You are God's gift to UA-cam, and you stay salty forever my friend. 😂
29:08 This is a good point. Having spent a little time in the industry in my early 30's I got a glimpse of how much they spend on continuity and accuracy consultants in bigger films and one would think they have someone of a certain experience and competence consulting on military accuracy. Do you think perhaps they did have a worthy consultant, but producer meetings just always ended up with sessions like this? hahahaha, with the consultant saying everything was idiotic and they just decided to push forward with script as written?
The 2 big things that got me were 1:when they trst an alien to see where to shoot it, determining that center mass is best. They're marines, they would already be shooting center mass. And 2: when they decide that taking out the aliens' communications is key. Again, they're marines, taking out enemy comms would already be way up the list, ahead of evac, but no one in command came to that conclusion.
This is the best Beers and Breakdowns I've ever seen man, I laughed so hard almost all the way through it and then I completely lost my sh-t when you guys got "ambush tasered" 🤣😋😉........oh man, I pulled a muscle......... it was fking awesome!! 🤩
My dude, cell phones don't use satellites, they use towers (tall things vertical from the ground), sat phones bounce off satellites, but don't run Android, radios can be peer to peer or repeater, GPS runs off satellites, but need cell phone data to populate map data, to include ATAK. And yeah, I'm a former Marine and out gear is garbage. We learned land nav with compass and paper and deployed with iron sight M16s to Afghanistan. I heard Recon had optics and computerized maps in the initial wave 🤷♂️

LT's especially with the Gold Bars are always lost, they even look lost when just standing around. One silver bar always looks proud for some unknown reason, and 2 silver bars know what their actually doing, or their throwing around their authority so all the enlisted people know who they are. If they were Majors and above I tried to stay far away, because I always got into trouble if I did not. Once I was 100 yards away from a Major lowering the US flag for the day on the compound, and I got into trouble with a Major, so I figure 200 yards from them was safe as 100 yards didn't work out. BTW, the last part of this had me on the floor cracking up.

Uhh...cell phones use cell towers not "cell satellites", and most radios use LOS to talk directly between other radios on that freq, or (depending on type of radio) might bounce radio signal off the atmosphere. Point is, it is entirely possible to take out cell communication and not effect their radios.
You guys seem like the coolest people to hang out with. I’m someone who has no friends and I’m dealing with severe loneliness but watching your content helps me cope. I would pay all the money I have in my bank account to hang out with you guys for one day. Thanks. I would like to see you guys react to Fight Club and Blade Runner 2049.

I did a version of this to pass mine. I tailed a guy who I knew would get caught and once they found him they moved away from my area
I served in the Marine Corps from 2003-2015 and honestly never heard the crayon-eater thing until a couple of years ago. So I towonder where it came from.🤔
Just started watching these reactions,I've never laughed so hard as I have with these guys, the comments they come up with about the movies stemming from their military knowledge is outstanding. I think this one's the best yet.
The real reason Buck didn't like the movie is because it stars Marines and not Army. Just admit it! 😂😂😂 Great review guys, I was laughing my ass off at you two
So, about the radio thing.
Air force vet, everybody in our unit (REDHORSE) dipped. Copenhagen. I did for years after i got out too.
Buck's rant at the end (30:00) was epic!
Just had the best drive to work listenin to this
Keep em coming big dogs!!! You never disappoint
This was the funniest thing I've seen in awhile!! The whole Joe Rogan bit had me dying!!
Ayyyyooooo this whole tactical breakdown is pure Gold 🤣🤣 one of of your funniest reviews.
You had me at "alien fighting school"....subscribed
The 2 big things that got me were 1:when they trst an alien to see where to shoot it, determining that center mass is best. They're marines, they would already be shooting center mass. And 2: when they decide that taking out the aliens' communications is key. Again, they're marines, taking out enemy comms would already be way up the list, ahead of evac, but no one in command came to that conclusion.
When are you going to review ‘we were soldiers’? 🙏🏻
Finally get to see your army humor kick in. That was awesome😂
most hilarious episode ive seen ina minuite
🙏
Just when I thought these episodes couldn’t get better…BOOM
This is the best Beers and Breakdowns I've ever seen man, I laughed so hard almost all the way through it and then I completely lost my sh-t when you guys got "ambush tasered" 🤣😋😉........oh man, I pulled a muscle......... it was fking awesome!! 🤩
Bucks rant in the end will always be Legendary 💪🏽😂😂💀.
You guys should do The Peripheral there's some cool military and shooting scenes on that show
Can we get more of Buck ripping on Joe? Shit was hilarious 😂
Buck, your insight is always appreciated haha
Y’all gotta do that movie “Sniper Special Ops” with Steven Seagal. I would love to see that
Buck @31:18: " but that being said...." bahahahaha great review guys! and can't wait for the boot drop :D
👊
I would love to see you guys do Fury or Hacksaw ridge.
Absolutely died laughing from start to finish with this one! Buck’s breakdown of California was classic!
I never laughed so hard…from your stories about the chaw to “…you need Jesus!” Great review!! I would also like you to review “Fury.”
I strangely wanted to watch this movie today, this just makes it better. Oddly enough when it came to the dip conversation, here’s me with a lip in reflecting on what got me to start.. good job guys!
Do windtalkers next
That was the funniest ending to any video yall have done. I still come back to watch this just to laugh, its awesome!
This one seriously had me laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. “What are we fucking rotten tomatoes?”
i feel like these guys use movies as a excuse to get buzzed and talk about thier time in the Army lol, i love it
💯
And his reasoning not to fight an alien invasion irl
The most hilarious video y’all made. Great review! Leave my LTs alone though lol!
The sleeping bag story reminds me of the video of the kid in the tank going "you're not my dad" lmao
Had me dying laughing, navy vet here, good AAR and a shocking ending lol
Space Force "The Guardians" had all the slots filled at "Alien Fighting School" no room for anyone else. LOL I was a (Air Force) Crew Chief on HC-130's a long time ago and a majority of us dipped or chewed, mid 80's thru mid 90's.
Edit : posted this comment in a middle of the video, should have waited till the end 😶 based on a comment section thought you guys got clips of Rogan talking abt aliens at the end😂😂😂. Sean would make a killing on only fans with that imagination. Best ever movie review. Thank you guys.
Please do Fury and Jack Ryan Amazon series pls. Love 30 min story time interrupted by 1min of movie clips set up😂.
Also, pls give terminal list another chance. Thank you.
Lol, that was hysterical at the end. The whole Joe Rogan thing, lmfao
Would love if y’all could do Danger Close: the battle of Long Tan. Very underrated movie
Best one I have watched so far and the jab at Joe Rogan is just pure gold. Comedy at its finest.
The most accurate part of this whole movie was the demeanor of the 2nd LT, very accurate. 🤣🤣🤣
Oh my god! Bucks story about Tom is so true!! This happens all the time!!! I’m a FISTER so we’ll be up on the hill doing CFF the second the line goes black on ammo we all dip out or go to sleep. But the gun line is always full of hooah dudes who want to do stupid hooah stuff. And they always bitch about us not wanting to stay on the hill to do notional fires or do “night ops”. Like my job is done I’m not pulling security all night for an OP4 that isn’t even here. Or set up fire watch to see nothing happen.
Exactly!
Friggin hilarious!!! Best review ever
Bro this is the best episode til now, you guys are so fucking funny, you two have like the perfect balance and chemistry about tactics and comedy, I'm mexican and I enjoy watching this shit like a sick bastard hahhaaha congrats homies Greetings from Mexico. I need Jesus!! Hahahaja
They flew from San Diego to LA...
Yo y’all funny asf 🤙🏿😂
🙏🙏
Hello sir, I always watch your videos but this one was brutal😂🤣🤣😂. I follow you on all your networks from ARGENTINA
Thank you!
The commentary when you guys are bantering back and forth is hilarious being a vet I can relate to both people's comments about everything keep it up gentleman it's great content. The State of Affairs that we are all in we need a little humor
There was another similar movie, we actually thought it was related to this, but even worse. My son, 8 or 10 at the time, noticed their guns were nerf guns, that were painted black, and you could still see NERF on them, he was all, "I have that gun!"
you guys are amazing , keep it up
Uhh...cell phones use cell towers not "cell satellites", and most radios use LOS to talk directly between other radios on that freq, or (depending on type of radio) might bounce radio signal off the atmosphere.
Point is, it is entirely possible to take out cell communication and not effect their radios.
A year late reply but yeah lol.
When cell towers go down, even dudes with their cheap UHF/VHF Baofengs would still be able to transmit and receive.
I came for the breakdown of the movie but I really enjoyed their old military stories even more 😆
