Fear Factory underrated???? Never heard that in my entire life. Think they are quite famous and highly respected. Well, but its common here to write this or that is underrated. Cannot understand these kinds of comments!
Not underrated but seriously overlooked by the younger generation.
They pretty mainstream, but they've kept to their roots and not bought in a the wrong crowd I.e limp bizkit
This album CONSUMED me when it came out. it felt like a gift
My first industrial metal band and one my all time favorites as they influenced so many others. Glad the younger gens are discovering them.

interesting fact: fear factory was featured on the playstation game test drive 5, and there was a special unlock which was a drivable fear factory van xD

Fear Factory probably is the most underrated band along with Type-O-Negative.

definitely didn't expect to have this hit us this hard!
The album that introduced me to Fear Factory. Got it for their cover of Cars by Gary Numan who actually sings in the cover. Fell in love with the album.
Obsolete is a concept album so the songs kind of run into each other, but they do a good job of making each song listenable on their own. The insert on the limited edition CD was like a mini book with a story that went along with the songs.
i love that united flow between songs in albums but can confirm this one certainly felt complete on its own! Sick Work! / George

I was 17 when this album came out. Got it.. then proceeded to learn this song on guitar. Still my favorite warm up song to play!

Yesss. Fear Factory old skool jam. They added the machine gun sound to the metal scene in the 90's. it was very impressive at the time. Only thing that I still find off, are the clean vocals. And I didn't know you reacted to FF before. To the batmobile!

I discovered Fear Factory with their debut album Demanofacture in 1995. When I bought G/Z/R's (Black Sabath's bass player Geezer Butler) Plastic Planet I was thrilled to find out that Burton C. Bell is the vocalist on this album. I don't know exactly why I lost interest in the band after Obsolete. Maybe because I became a mom (yes, don't trust nicknames 😄). Btw i loved your Top Gear reference 😍. As an older metalhead i think it's great when you guys react to a song I loved in my late 20's.

A minor correction, if that's ok, but Fear Factory's debut album was actually Soul of a New Machine in 1992. It's quality is a little rough, but it clearly sets the tone for their future albums. ✌
