Hyacinths need to have a period of dormancy each year in order to recharge the bulb to produce blooms again. Usually the leaves will die back, and the plant will put all its energy into making the bulb. Then it needs to go dormant. It is best to put it in a cool dark place during its dormancy. In the pre-dormancy period where it is growing the bulb, it is best to feed it a little bit of fertilizer. In the setting you have it it, the bulb will not have room to grow. It also may shrink a bit when it is putting up new leaves and blooms. I'm not sure how you can accommodate all that, but I'm sure that with your creativity, you'll find a way.
Your daughter is the cutest and looks to be the best helper ever!! Enjoyed the video! Thanks so much for sharing!!
Thank you very much! She always wants to help when I am using the spray foam and she already wants to do another.

Really cool. Love the plastic soil holder idea.
Yes and it is actually working fairly well. I may do a larger one for a mini outdoor pond next year.
