    Very Helpful. Was unaware of the dead space in the middle issue. Just cancelled my order for Philips and will get the GE. UPDATE: just bought the GE and there is a large dark deadspot in the middle just like Philips at 18-24". Must be some manufacturing variation.

    Fantastic testing this is great and exactly what i’m looking for. Specifically the spectrum testing but am I missing where you tested the rubylux bulb?

    Thanks for the super helpful and informative vid! This eliminates so much of the mystery and finally got me to pull the trigger on some bulbs! I just went out and grabbed four GE bulbs and noticed they're 130v rather than 120v. From what I've read on the internet that means that while prolonging the life of the bulbs it also makes them cooler and less bright. Is this true?! And if so, other than longer life, why would they make a HEAT lamp bulb weaker than it could be?! Should I return these?

    Hey there! Thanks for the vid! Independent of your content, my wife bought us some infrared sauna sessions... Thought a lot about the info you've put out on RLT panels while sitting in there (i don't know much about infrared only devices)
    I guess one could use these kinds of bulbs to get that kind of effect? Still figuring stuff out

    How does just a red coating make NIR? Is the coating special? Excluding the possible putting off of gases, what about red paint. I am not considering that but just trying to understand what is it that makes the NIR? Is it really as simple as a light, any incandescent light shining thru the color red? At dawn and dusk there is more NIR. The reason there is more red in the sky at dawn and dusk is the angle we see the sun rays is coming thru more dust, smoke, environment etc. So is this the same with light bulbs and coatings or colored glass, it is not the light emanating but what it is filtered thru? I also wonder if NIR which is invisible, why dont I see anyone selling just NIR devices minus the red medium and far red heat? Then you could compare all the sole NIR beems. They have NIRs in security cameras so why not make those into devices for health purposes?

      simple as light turning on, the red coat filters out the other colors
      remove the red filter, you get "white" light, which still has the red and near infrared, but also everything else

    Is there a difference between regular (clear) and red incandescent heat lamp bulbs? I assumed that the red ones just had a coating absorbs other colors but that in the red/infrared regions, these two types of bulbs would be similar. Is that right, do you think? In other words, is it feasible to use a regular (uncolored) heat lamp for therapy?

    Does your meter have a cutoff frequency, or is that full spectrum of the bulbs?

      All the incandescent bulbs emit the same level of EMFs. Check our previous videos for heat lamp EMF testing and mitigations.

      @@Sundazs the ones at Home Depot work well for me. Then to mitigate the EMFs you just get a Banana Jack ESD grounding kit and clamp it to the dish with an alligator clip.

    How much wattage is tge philips bulb using?

    I used them in a standard 60w table lamp and after a week or so the bulb stopped working.. do these require one of those metallic lamps / sockets like you have in the video?

      Yes. Rated to your buld wattage ceramic fittings. Very important

      ​@@surferscollective613 I see thanks! My thinking was that if I put a higher wattage bulb (130W) in a lower wattage fixture, it's just going to supply the 60W and there won't be any issues with overheating or damage to the bulb. Seems like I was wrong

      @@bendingreality- it will typically blow the bulb or get too hot and melt...then blow the bulb. Also after testing some bulbs are actually using more watts than rated.
