Thank you for posting this, some artists are really closed and cagey about their processes even when I've asked for practical advice 'you've got to find out yourself'. I completely get that everyone needs to find a way that works for them...but having some paths and options to explore and choose from is a good start and you have been a star and I really really appreciate the videos that you post up. xxx
Asking for advice doesn't mean that you do not make your own research about products or manufactures, sometimes you just need a little help narrowing down that path, but I do understand why some artists don't share their sources. So, thank you for the help Kat ,this actually narrowed down some printers research
I know this is about a year old and you might not be in need of this anymore, but if you have a facebook, join the Artist Alley Network International group. It's whole purpose is to share sources and advice among artists. You can also do a search for older posts for any sources you need.
I know this video was last year but just in case anyone or OP sees this. You don't print in RGB, the document mode is in RGB. When you print your document Photoshop will convert it to CMYK as these are the inks the printer uses (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key [black]). So you should always convert your document mode to CMYK so you will see the colour difference and it should be closer to how it will look when it's printed (assuming your monitor is decent at replicating colour and is calibrated). If you don't want to switch colour mode you can just hit CTRL + Y on your keyboard and that displays a "soft proof" of the CYMK colours or a more accurate representation of what your artwork will look like! Hope that helps.
Thanks for pointing this out, I was a little surprised to hear she hasn't had any problems having the conversion done without checking. The colours can change very drastically, especially bright blues and turqoises.
I just ordered printer for my etsy shop after rewatching your older videos about printing. Thank you for the help and the information that you give us!
That's a great idea! I love selling printable wall art on etsy. Are you thinking of selling digital or physical art? Not sure if you've started yet! :)
@@davidmcmanus4751 that’s so messed up. Not only is that illegal cause of copyright reasons, that’s extremely rude to the artist who spent their hard time and effort on the artwork.

RGB (Red,Gree,Blue) is computer screen gamut. A digital printer prints in CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black). Sending the file over as CMYK aligns it with what the printer will do.
