    HI. I'm a Seattle native, now living in So. Oregon. These fabulous videos will become more and more valuable as time goes by ... for a virtual & vicarious dose of nature. Our precious resources are being destroyed before our eyes. Water is drying up. I like to project these beautiful videos onto a wall or ceiling, and get lost in the serenity of it all. Makes me homesick for Washington. Thank you so much for this video collection. Keep up the great work. 👍🏼👏🏼💕

    My favorite trip was ozette lake and I hiked to the ocean from the west shore of ozette. And I also have canoed the Skagit River from marblemount to Lyman. That was a great trip as well. Both in a canoe

    I just did an overnight trip from Gooseberry Point to Lummi Island where I camped. The next morning I went to Vendovi Island for a brief visit and back to the put in. I timed the trip with the tides in Hale’s Passage. It was almost too windy, with the wind blowing up some steep waves when going down to Vendovi. I would say it’s definitely for more advanced paddlers. There are amazing wildflowers on Vendovi and a great welcome from the caretaker made it worthwhile! Next time I think I will do two nights camping with more time to explore Vendovi Island. I highly recommend this trip. Parking at the boat launch is $5 a day and it’s totally worth it.

      @@PresenceVideography It’s a bit of a trek to the put in. But if you’re driving between Seattle and Vancouver, BC, it’s not far out of the way. Lummi Nation has been really building their infrastructure in recent years and, if haven’t been there recently (or ever), it is some spectacular scenery with easy access. The Stommish Festival is fun if you want to see canoe races and other cultural events. There are also restaurants and shops worth visiting there and on Lummi Island (which is accessible by a car ferry that runs every hour).

      @@AaronBrand Sounds great, thanks for the additional info. Is this the campground you stayed at on Lummi Island maps.app.goo.gl/rULoT6o8NLfzYs7WA . How many campsites were there? Definitely on our list to explore.

      @@PresenceVideography That is the one. It has five designated sites only accessible by water. There are two vault toilets, but no water. It’s strictly leave no trace (with the exception of the toilets and fire rings). Sometimes there is a mooring buoy, but not currently.

    Small but big logistics consideration for your #1: Argosy Cruises surrendered their contract with Wash. State Parks to be the vendor for Tilllicum Village and the Argosy Cruise ferry boat (it's not a government run fast ferry like the West Seattle water taxi) back in 2021. Tillicum Village is basically mothballed both historic building and restaurant vendor including the legendary salmon bake in the long house. That's all closed up until someone else steps up to take the contract to run the food vendor and the ferry. The only access to the island is your own vessel, whatever that may be. Both campsites on either side of the island are still using the same Wash. State Parks reservation system, so just know if you were thinking of taking the Argosy ferry to-from for a walk-on camp on the island, that is not currently available. The result is a much quieter island and only boaters/kayakers are there. Nice overall video production, thank you for that info.

    Hi David, great content and pls keep on these creation. I am a freediver living in seattle, I always try to find a island with clear water and rock structure to dive nearby, recently I got a kayak too, do you have any recommendation for such places?

    • @PresenceVideography
      @PresenceVideography  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for your comment. Busy summer, lots more videos in the pipeline 😎 I haven't done diving for many years but I'd recommend considering Deception Island and Bowman Bay ua-cam.com/video/ddgS_9Bt-5M/v-deo.html if you haven't already been there. Lots of interesting sea life and kelp beds. Also has the Deception Pass Underwater Park. Check currents before going, especially around Deception Island / Pass as they can be strong. We use DeepZoom.com to check currents. Another I'd consider is Battleship and Posey Islands near Roche Harbor ua-cam.com/video/hgi0dy0m9cM/v-deo.html, and I'd also check currents as they can get strong in Haro Strait, although not as much as Deception Pass.

    About how long is the trip to Hope Island from Steamboat Island?

    • @PresenceVideography

      Channel is 0.3 miles wide so should take about 10 minutes at a relaxed paddling pace assuming light current and wind. We use DeepZoom.com to check currents, winds, and tides.
